I listen to classic rock music every night outside on my porch. When my Trelab portable Bluetooth speaker died after seven years, I did some research and found this Marshall. I’ve always loved the Marshall logo and the sound that Marshall amps produce. And let’s face it, if you go to a concert and the guitarists have Marshall amps you know it’s going to be LOUD. This little speaker sounds great. It’s got clear high and midrange, but where it really excels is in producing that deep bass drive that everyone is looking for. I have to say I was shocked that such a small speaker produced such quality sound. Of course, the Marshall logo is so iconic making this speaker look great as well, like a mini amp. All in all, I highly reccomend this speaker if you are looking for a portable Bluetooth that packs a great sound and provides a great look.

I’ve owned several Bluetooth speakers in my day. UE, Beats, Bose, JBL, HomePod, HomePod mini, Sonos……none of them have the aesthetic of the Middleton. None of them sound as clean and crisp as the Middleton. The bass is on point. The highs and mids and clean. The spatial sound (Marshall calls it 360 audio), is very nice. The multipoint Bluetooth pairing is a great touch. The manual bass and treble buttons make tuning very nice and easy.

Best in the Marshall lineup of portable speakers.
Slightly heavier side abt 2 kg. But sound quality is very pleasant to the ears. Good for movies and all genres of songs. Rock, pop, jazz, instrumental, name it all and it excels in sound signature.
Surround effect is excellent for its size. Bass effect better than JBL.
Highly recommended if u can afford it

I ordered this product after researching it. Actually, I couldn't find exactly what I wanted in the comments, but I decided to buy it and I'm glad I did, because I had a great sound experience (sound saturation is very important to me) The battery life is satisfactory. It is suitable for home or outside because its design is very cool. I recommend this product to those who want to buy it or to those who are looking for a Bluetooth speaker.

I made my choice in favor of this speaker and was not mistaken! I spent a long time studying reviews on the Internet and went to listen to them at BestBuy! In the end, I chose it! Now he is with me everywhere! I can take it into the shower or into the backyard! The sound is very high quality! The bass is beyond praise! I definitely recommend it to everyone!

I have the Marshall Acton II for the first time in my life at around the last quarter of 2023. I loved it, then I looked for something more portable. I saw that they have Willen, Emberton, and Middleton for small to medium-sized speakers. I went for Middleton, and wow, I am blown away by how it handles my AAC files. It sounds good, including the bass and treble. Recommended item!

Great sound w super deep bass. I like that they are stackable the stereo surround is awesome. Bought on an open box sale, the store and I had issues when after my purchase the speaker went on sale. Had to return and repurchase online bc they don’t price match their own sales events. Made no sense. Makes no sense. Manager did say he’d do the exchange as one time favor, I said no thanks.

It is amazing! I bought it to use at home, but it not only performs best, worth the price, but I also traveled, taking it to Aspen, Colorado, for a track, and its sound was mind-blowing. The battery life is also decent.

I’ve loved Marshall products ever since I bought my son his first guitar amp decades ago. Marshall is a great brand with reliable products. They branched off into home and personal audio equipment and I’ve tried a few of those. Their headphones and then the beefy Stanmore Bluetooth speaker are some of my go-to things when I need to punch up some tunes.
Marshall has come out with a smaller version of the Stanmore with the Middleton. I must say that it does carry the banner with pride. You really can’t compare the Middleton to other brand speakers in its category, it wouldn’t be a fair comparison. It has the same leatherette finish and the signature Marshall logo in the speaker grill. It comes with a charging cable (USB A to USB C) and a carrying strap which is as heavy duty as the speaker itself. I think a USB C to USB C cable should have been included or throw in a USB A to USB C adapter.
This thing is heavy for its size!!!! It’s a bit heftier than most portable speaker. I mean in size and in weight. The Middleton is packed with a ton of features and I’m sure that the extra weight must be from the batteries that give it a 20+ hour playtime. I haven’t tested the battery life but the advertised 20 or more hours gives me a good day of playtime… or even a weekend under practical use. Maybe not for casually tossing in a backpack but strap might come in handy to assist in transporting.
The Middleton is IP67 rated meaning its dust resistant and waterproof up to 30 minutes in 1 meter of water. Pretty much on par with most smartphones these day. Very solid choice for taking to the beach or even the pool as long as it stays out of the deep end.
The controls are all on top of the speaker. There is a large multi-function button on top center. It’s like a D-Pad on any game controller. I long press and the unit powers on. To pair the Bluetooth there is a small button on the left with the symbol. A long press will put in in pairing mode and easy connect to a computer, tablet or smartphone. Once connected just push play on your device or you can do a quick press on the power button to get the tunes rolling. I mentioned that the large button has multiple functions. So quick presses are pause/play, rocking the button to the left or right is forward/reverse, rocking back and forward is the volume control. Great use of a single button!! There are Bass and Treble buttons on the right hand side of the power button. In addition to the Bluetooth button on the left side is a bar LED indicator which reacts to the Bass, Treble, volume and also battery level check button. You can always see how much battery life you have left.
I powered it up and paired it with my iPhone. Setup was extremely easy. In a few minutes I was punching out some massive sound. Clear, crisp and no distortion even when cranking it up to something like 8 on the 1 to 10 volume scale. It filled the room with amazing clarity! I appreciate the onboard bass and treble control making it easy to adjust as needed depending on what I was listening to. Using the Marshall Bluetooth app gives you remote control within range. A solid BRAVO!
As I would have expected Bluetooth isn’t the only method to connect to the speaker. Marshall includes an auxiliary input jack next to the USB-C charging port on the back of the speaker for devices that have a headphone jack.
These come in two colors… black or cream. I prefer the traditional black Marshall look myself.
Price point at $299 is a bit hefty to match it’s bulk and weight but for the sound quality and battery life make it a value if you appreciate those things.

The Marshall Middleton Plays Well Above the Middle

Loud. The Marshall Middleton Bluetooth Portable speaker puts out 50+ watts with warm and vibrant sound and that unmistakable Marshall growl. The bass is encompassing, the mids portion of the music is front forward, while the treble is not shrill but clean and clear. This is one Bluetooth speaker you will want to demo (ear plugs optional!). Despite its size which is just a little larger than my hand, it's a firm heavyweight that will definitely get your attention. The overall weight is near 4 lbs and the Middleton even has a rating of IP67, which means it is water resistant and dust resistant. This is not however waterproof; So I don't suggest you hold it under water, but the water-resistant rating will do just fine if a splash of water comes over the Middleton.
From the logo to its material build (amp look), and colors, the Middleton's look are all Marshall appointments. It's clear this Bluetooth product is borrowing from their guitar amp line. When powering off/on or getting Bluetooth connectivity, a special sounding Marshall "guitar riff" plays through the speakers. Its another little thing that sets the Middleton apart from other Bluetooth speakers. Although Marshall didn't come up with the first distortion sound, they have certainly perfected it. From the first listen to the last, it is Middleton is Marshall all the way.
After taking the Middleton out of the box, I needed to charge it. The full amount of battery life is somewhere near 20 hours, but on a short charge I got about 2 hours for 20 minutes. Factors in battery life like bass centric music or letting the Middleton set on for a while will impact the total hours used. I don't think it is a big deal, but something to keep in mind if you take this Middleton on a trip. A supplied USB Type A to USB Type C cable is used to charge the Middleton when the power gets low.
Some perks of the Marshall Middleton are it comes with a carry handle for portability. A 3.5mm jack on the backside of the Middleton allows you to connect an alternative source for music. The USB Type C is located next to the 3.5mm jack. You can you use it to charge other devices, like your smart phone, that plug into the Middleton "power bank" as well as charging the Bluetooth speaker.
Marshall has coined the word "True Stereophonic" when describing the encompassing sounds from the Middleton. 50 watts with six speakers (2 woofers, 2 tweeters and 2 passive speakers) fit into this tiny and mighty chassis. The speakers are specifically placed at every angle (front/back, side/side) for a true stereo, "360 degree" listening area no matter where you are in relation to the Middleton. The "sweet spot" of any speaker is often pursued but never found. The Middleton takes care of that with sound enveloping the room in any "spot" due to it maximum dispersion of sound. For better coverage you can "stack" two Middleton linked portable speaker units in the same room and enjoy the emotional flood of music that surrounds you.
There is also an app you can use for controlling the bass, treble and stacking options or simply use the controls on top of the Middleton. The controls are very responsive, whether you want more volume, bass or treble. The view on top of the Middleton has two metered levels on the right (meter for bass and a meter for treble). Also, on top of the Middleton is the brass control button (which moves from side-to-side, up/down and pushed down), which responds by turning off/on, going forward/back on a track controls the volume as well. There really isn't a big learning curve for the Middleton which on how it works. It was made to be simple and easy to use. The last controls on top of the Middleton, dictate sound levels with a red meter that is used by the brass control button to adjust to your liking. The final two buttons on the left help you select Bluetooth (press and hold till it flashes red to connect via Bluetooth) and battery life.
I must say the Marshall Middleton not only has the authentic look and sound (especially those guitar riffs!) but it also exceeds its size, weight, with surprisingly loud wattage and the added durability of materials. The controls are simple and easy to get you going into the listening stratosphere of the Marshall Middleton Bluetooth Portable speaker.
