Marshall Monitor Headphones Great Design and Sound

Like an audiophile, I’ve tried a bunch of good headphones. Unlike an audiophile, I usually can’t tell the sound difference between most of them.
I am always trying to find the best fit for my needs. So, when my current pair of Klipsch headphones that I’ve only had for a little over a year became damaged, I knew it was time for a new set. Unfortunately, Klipsch had stopped selling the set I’d have come to love over the past year. So, I had to invest some time looking for a new set.
After checking Amazon and reading review after review, I finally narrowed down the choices to a few great looking headphones. I set out to my local music shop and Best Buy to see if they had these on display.
One thing that’s extremely important to me is design. I know the sound should be first on my priority list, but having great build quality is also right up at the top of my list. You can have the best sounding headphones, but if they are going to fall apart in a few months, what’s the point?
Leading into my hands-on testing, I narrowed the search to just one model – The Marshall Monitors.
Marshall has been making amps for years. So, seeing the Marshall name, I immediately associated it with quality. I tried them on and went through the list of music types they had on the display and thought, “Wow, the sound is great!” I’m a huge Klipsch fan and was really sort of disappointed that I could not find a good set of them. As I stood there playing the music, I forgot about how big of fan I was because the Marshall Monitors just blew me away. The build quality is great and made out of metal, not plastic. The sound was strong, punchy and so very clear even to me, who is hard of hearing. I found them to be just what I wanted.
The Marshall Monitors have a detachable cable so if you want your cable dangling from the left or right side, you have that choice and if it ever gets damaged, it’s easy to replace. Being the cord is what got damaged on my last set of headphones, this was a big plus for me.
Because of the 3.5mm socket that can be switched from either side you are able to use the extra 3.5mm socket to share your music with someone sitting next to you.
In addition to the detachable cable, the Marshall Monitors also features over-ear construction, a collapsible frame for easy travel and a carrying pouch with “Marshall” embossed on it. There is also a mic and remote on the cable to allow you to use the Monitors with your mobile phone.
Marshall designed the Monitor’s Headphones with embossed white script logo and black vinyl leather, evoking the spirit of the legendary vintage amps. You can fold the Marshall Monitor’s up and place them in a very sturdy canvas bag that comes with the Monitors’s for travel. These are truly my goto headphones, anywhere I take my laptop my headphones follow.
One other feature I really want to point out is the F.T.F system. The Monitor comes equipped with an F.T.F insert behind the removable ear cushion. The F.T.F system provides a laid-back sound while taking the F.T.F system out, gives a brighter, more crisp sound. I found this a great added bonus to headphones that already provided a great listening experience.
I highly recommend the Marshall Monitors if you are looking for a good set of headphones. The superior construction, easy transportation and even the leather padded headband is slick looking. Plus, the sound quality is beyond compare.

These have really awesome bass and I am at the best concerts every day. The headphones are a great fit and never leave my ears or head hurting. They are very clear sounding and are a wonderful gift from my husband. The only bad thing I can say about them is that I wish the cord was about a foot longer.

So, I picked up these headphones because on the floor display the sound just blew the others out of the water. Range and fidelity, I fell in love with these things. Just wow. A lot of care also obviously goes into its structure as well: many of the weaknesses of cheaper headsets like frayed wires on joints simply won't happen with this design, which puts a thick rubber coating along a long, wound wire that has plenty of spring, where the cups and the headset are separate pieces woven together.
It even has a few features which may be neat for you but that I don't use so often, like a detachable plug that can go into the right or the left side of the set, detachable inserts that can give a more muted high end (if that's your thing), and phone integration with a button and (I believe) a small mic.
The only downside is that the headset pinches a little tight against my (admittedly, larger-sized) head. Even the wonderfully soft earcups can only absorb so much pressure and after a couple of hours, it becomes a bit much, and I have to take a break. If it wasn't for that, this would be the perfect set of headphones for me. Even the cost is completely justified in my opinion.

I am a photojournalist for a local television station. I use these Marshall headphones in the field (to monitor audio during acquisition), and in post production as I edit my stories. Precise audio monitoring is extremely important to me all around. The sound quality of these headphones is very tight, and crispy clean. The headband fits perfectly and hugs my head ... Tight enough to help cancel out ambient noise adequately. And these phones are NOT labeled as noise-canceling. I have used other, comparably priced, noise-canceling headphones in the past, yet they were not very durable. The Marshalls seem to be made quite well, particularly at the hinge where the headband attaches to the ear cups. In the long run, this could potentially be the single point of failure ... For any set of headphones, really. I've had the Marshall's for over a month now, and they are holding up quite well during everyday, (hard) use in news. And if you know anything about us newsie types, we're pretty hard on our gear. Overall, I am extremely pleased with these, even though they cost a bit more than I had initially intended to spend. They are absolutely worth it though!

These headphones have the best sound quality I've found so far for an affordable price. These compare well to Bose, but much cheaper. These select ear pieces are more fitting and comfortable than the lower grade. My musician friends all love this headphone and have bought them too.

MY kid needed headphones for gaming and being a guitar player there was only one choice :)
The other reviews mentioning them being a bit tight, he agreed and I gave them a lil bend in the top cross bar part and he says now they are perfect
Recommended great sound and solid construction

I have only had these for about two weeks, but the sound quality is great. Not too bass heavy, but you can definitely hear it. When I wear these, I am not afraid they will fall apart like other brands I have listened to.

Better sound quality than popular brands including Beats, Sol Republics, Soul by Ludacris and Monster.
I was searching for a replacement headphone for my Monsters which have had terrible build quality in the last couple of pairs. I stumbled upon these headphones in the store and took a listen because I liked the black styling with gold lettering. I was BLOWN AWAY by the sound quality.
Rich lows, sweet highs and all around, a very crisp and clean sound.
The store searched for a pair as there didn't seem to be any one the shelf and I ended up going to another Best Buy location that had them in stock. Glad I did!
These headphones easily handle rock, pop, bass-heavy hip hop with a crisp and clean sound. They have an inner ear felt liner that you can take out if you want more treble, but I don't find a world of difference between when it is in or out.
They have great ambient noise cancelling and feel really good and they look kind of retro-modern.
The ONE downside is that the included mic cable doesn't have a volume switch. I can't understand for the life of me, how a sub-$200 dollar pair of premium headphones doesn't include this, but the mic cable works well and people have told me that it sounds very clear, even when I am outside walking in very noisy environments.
Believe me, I have tried them all, and this pair of headsets easily outpaces more well-known and popular brands. I am no audiopurist, but I know what sounds good. These sound good across a wide array of music genres.

These headphones are well built. Heavy plastics, leather and brass for all of the visible parts. They just feel like quality. The sound is perfect for classic rock and roll and rockabilly. They aren't for audiophiles who want a perfectly flat response from their headphones. They will awaken your memories of live performances of yesteryear. Listen to your favorite music with these and enjoy their mellow sound.

Solid, construction. Best Buy price matches :) so see what prices you can find online. Would compare sound quality to headphones costing $300. Bass heavy.. Will probably never use the TFTs.

The sound and music that play through these when I listen to my iPod is so loud and clear and crisp that I don't know how I didn't have them before. I've had them for over a year now and they still work and the sound is still pumping through them pretty strong and clear.
