Had two of the 700's. Traded them in for this puppy! Way better then the two 10"s!!! Shakes the house when turned up. Super clear n deep. Added the 12" 1000 for good measure. Freaking insane! I'll have this set up now for years! Also have 4 motion 40s. Pic is the 15" to the 10". 15" comes on a pallet.

Best Subs I've ever bought. I also recommend the synchronizing device as well to tune them.

I upgraded from a def tech super cube 4000. Not to say that my old sub was terrible, but it did not give me the performance I was seeking. The ML 1500X not only delivers, but is delicate in how it does so. It sends heavy bass waves through the couch and doesn't interfere and become overwhelming with the rest of the surround sound. I did buy the PBK system to help with room correction. It does just that! I will say the only problem now is I have to start sound proofing the area. I am happy to do so, because it delivers more than I could ever need!

Solid Performance

Don't get me wrong from my "what's not so great" comment concerning it's price point... the 1500XD is a solid performer on many levels. The tonal quality fell right into place once the transducer went through a few hours of use. Once dialed into the 'room' and its particular accoustics, it filled its application very well.
I should also state that it is in your best interest to purchase the PBK right up front. It is an invaluable tool in setting this component up properly to the accoustics of your environment. For the price of the PBK #$100# and the cost of the 1500XD itself #$1595 at the time of this writing#... it should be included from Martin Logan up front.
Performance-wise the 1500XD meets the grade... however, in comparison to the SVS SB13-Ultra #the sub of subs currently 06/2014# is where my comment about price point come into play. At roughly $300 less than the 1500XD... the SVS SB13-Ultra's performance rivals all. Considering that my 2 channel mains are around 18 cu/ft each, I dont lack full uncompressed wave length at any low frequency... but at home theater level volumes... the Martin Logan 1500XD is killer addition for the LFE fill.
But... you be the judge. I am no one to say that one is better for an individual over anothers taste in sound quality and environment. Hard to find one in a listening room to tell the difference... but find a Martin Logan full dealer and take a listen. You wont be un-impressed.

I have been searching for a Sub to match my other Gloss Black Martin Logan's. At 1st I didn't think I'd need a Sub for the size of the room and the stand up speakers were already power enough. However I did go for it and wanted to match the Gloss Black Martin Logans that I currently have. So I forked over more than I wanted too however it looks great and very Powerfull!
