I purchased the motion 40 front floor standing speaker pair to compliment my Martin Logan motion center and Martin Logan motion surround channel speakers. The motion 40 speakers can handle anything you throw at them, they are very uniquely realistic for watching movies. The high frequencies are extremely crisp and clear and the lower frequencies can thunder down to meet my Martin Logan dynamo 700 subwoofers perfectly which really results in well balanced sound throughout the room. I am very happy I chose Martin Logan for my home theater

I upgraded an old Floor standing speaker for this. At first I was worried about the high price and the small tower look. When Magnolia gentlemen turned it on I was blown away. Again I still thought I wouldn’t get the same sound output at home (because Magnolia calibrate theirs). I went with it and man was I amazed by the sound at home as well. Clear sound and the solid base. My movies were soo enjoyable. Very happy for the quality for the price I paid!

I'm using these speakers in a 5.1 home theater with the Motion 30 and Motion FXs, and I really enjoy them. Writing about speakers is difficult, as feelings about them are very subjective, but these are my favorite speakers I've owned. I've had Polks (both the very low end and some higher-end), Paradigms (Monitor series), and a couple of Internet-direct companies' offerings, and what stands out about the Motion 40s is the high frequencies, which are fantastic. I've never owned speakers with any sort of ribbon transducer, but they live up to the open, airy hype that I've always heard about. On top of the great sound (which is impressive from bottom to top), the Motion 40s' physical attributes were welcomed by my fiance, who has always put up with my speaker choices, but this time embraced them. If you'd like to read a much more professional and eloquently-written review of these speakers, I'd highly recommend the one on Home Theater Magazine's website (I found pretty much everything in that review to be accurate).

My setup is used for music 80% of the time. The sound is solid, robust and clean even at soft levels. Highly recommend the Martin Logan family of speakers. All my speakers are Martin Logan. It took my 3 years to piece together this and the floor speakers were the last., and well worth it.

I recently upgraded my living room receiver and wanted to get a new set of fronts to as well. My parents have always had Martin Logan's so I wanted a pair for myself. With new and correct speaker wires the sound is phenomenal. I have them hooked up in bi-amp mode which makes great speakers sound even better. These offer audiophile sound without breaking the bank.

Great sounding speakers. Got a pair for my music room and the sound quality is awesome. Great highs and middles. Can hear the quality of the music. Would recommend a subwoofer for the lows to help with bass heavy music though. Highly recommended!!

They sound great very easy to hook up. Black finish look fantastic.

I researched speakers in the $2,000 - $2,500 / pair range quite extensively for about a month before deciding on the ML Motion 40's. My use is strictly music so my thoughts are only on that basis. I have other brand speakers in the theater room. I listened to the ML's as well as a few other brands, including the also excellent-sounding B&W CM8. Realizing that the Magnolia showroom may not provide similar sound as my listening area at home, I made my choice based partially on the reviews I had read as well as my own listening. I chose the ML's mostly because of the much better high frequency capability plus what sounded to me to be a tighter bass than the other speakers I listened to. Once I got the ML's installed, listening at home confirmed my choice as being a good one. Just a simply fantastic soundstage, frequency response, and downright enjoyable sound. Aside from the listening, it is obvious that the quality assurance at ML is top notch in both materials and workmanship. These speakers -- I got the piano black -- are beautiful, and for my listening area they are the perfect size. These are superb speakers. You won't go wrong choosing them.

I ve never heard clearer sound then with martin logan .I ve had other brand speakers before but have never been as satisfied as I am with the clarity and quality of the martin logan brand.The motion 40"s are amazing in how they promote precise sounds that make watching movies more enjoyable then before.

I listened to a lot of speakers over several days and over several genres of music. I was extremely impressed with this set of speaks. Outstanding highs and mids, beautiful finish, people are constantly amazed when they hear them. My only complaint is I emailed Martin Logan and they did not call or email me back.

They look and sound great. One of the metal grilles was slightly warped when it arrived and Martin Logan sent out a free replacement, but Best Buy wouldn't help, said they could only accept a return and then get a whole new speaker sent out. Seemed like a waste of everyone's time and money.

I love Martin Logan speakers and these Motion 40's gave my just what I was looking for great sound. I am using these for the rear surround sound to compliment my Martin Logan 60's that I have for the front sound in my entertainment system.

Clear, powerful, crisp sound out of a speaker that competes way above its price point. Paired with a nice pioneer amp and enjoy sounds you haven't heard before. Quite happy!

I’ve recently purchased the Martin Logan Speakers and I must say, “They’re sensational!” Unprecedented sound quality that puts all sound bars to shame. I’m so happy with my purchase.

I debated whether to get these speakers for quite awhile and after convincing myself I did. I'm so glad because they are so worth it. Music to the ears and pleasing to the eyes. These speakers fill the room with unbelievable music, you can hear the instruments come alive.

These absolutely sound fantastic very warm sound but also great clarity

I spent an inordinate amount of time researching and then listening to these speakers compared to B&W's and others at this price point. You will not find a better sounding speaker that really allows the music and sounds come thru than these.

Very, very impressed with the sound. I am not an audiophile type. I wanted to fill my media room with as close to theater sound as my budget would allow.

These speakers have proved to be excellent thus far. Great highs and a clean, crisp sound overall. I have these paired with a set of Motion 20's for my rear speakers and the sound is exceptional.
