I love the MvC franchise, but this one is different. First off, the graphics are amazing, but the characters look a bit bulky. The roster seems limited, and they left out the X-Men which got rid some of the classic characters like Wolverine and Cyclops. The gameplay is simplified as well, which will appease new players, but will bore more of the intermediate players who have been playing the series from the start.

I was looking forward to play this game with the better graphics of today's consoles. Unfortunately, the excitement was quickly ruined when I came to find out that Wolverine is MIA in this game. How can you not have this character in a M vs C game!? The whole game in general feels incomplete... I can't recommend it to anyone who has played older versions of this game.

This game's graphics should have stayed the same as part 3, a more comic book feel. However it seems like Marvel wanted the game to be more cinematic and similar to the DC brand of fighting games. Why not be unique and stay true to the series? Really a big mistake there. Let's talk about gameplay. It is still pretty good but slowed down due to the more detail in graphics than before. More detail doesn't equal better though. The music is also more cinematic this time for the worse. Also there are only English voice overs and no Japanese voices for the Japanese characters. Graphically it is decent but they are actually the worst graphics ever put in a Capcom fighter since Final Fight game was released on Sega Saturn. Its just Capcom usually puts up great graphics and a high standard so this is their worst output. The roster also doesn't match up to the past games in the series. This game was dumped to the bargain bin in a couple of months which is a great shame given the history of this series. Also they really went overboard with dlc and paying for extras. Too bad gaming companies are focused on that route rather than making classic games anymore. Because this series has plenty of classics that started on Sega Saturn and Dreamcast.

I do enjoy this game, but I wish I had waited for it to drop in price. As with most fighting games, personally, I tire with them after playing through the story, and the arcade modes a few times.
