A Fun Item!

I was on line looking at all the new virtual reality devices and wanted to try one out but didn't way to pay the high prices. The View-Master was a fun little item since it was inexpensive and provided a virtual reality experience. I did not use the item according to the instructions (downloading an app, etc.) but simply inserted my daughter's i-phone in the front and used the 3-D videos I found on YouTube. We had a ball for hours with this thing and the horror videos really spooked us. Overall, it was an excellent first device. If I had used it according to the instructions, I would likely have given it 5 stars.

Only downfall is that some phones like the Nexus 6 are too big so it doesnt line up right and others are too small. Other than that its great once u get it lined up correctly. Fun to use. Would be awesome to have a head strap so you dont have to hold it.

Everything about this viewer is great with Google Cardboard. It would've got 5 stars but the preview reel is almost impossible to use. It takes the perfect placement and lighting to get it to read the preview reel.

Great gift idea. Purchased this for my son who turned 5. He loves it! You need an extra cellphone phone or ipod and enough space to download the required apps to views the items.

The device was easy to use and my family enjoyed using it. I wish it had a headphone out and that the lenses could change focus just a little bit.

Very neat product but to use it fully, you need to purchase additional apps which is annoying; the demo apps aren't really worth more than about 10 minutes of entertainment.
With my Note5, the phone gets REALLY hot while using this which makes the 'visor' heat up which causes you to sweat. It also doesn't have a headstrap, so you're stuck holding it all the time.

This is a good Google Cardboard viewer. It's a step up compared to the cheap cardboard viewers and it cost about the same.

An interesting view master transition to Virtual reality. Unit provides samples of "experience packs" which must be purchased separately. However the real value to me has been the ability to use this unit to view/play downloadable (usually free) VR apps for smartphones. Essentially this unit is a nicer version of Google Cardboard because it is plastic not cardboard and it closes out ambient light.

VR is the hot new thing, but if you're not sure it's for you why spend hundreds on a Rift? This View master is pretty solid and had a low price so it's perfect for trying VR out. I haven't tried the View master apps but the Google Cardboard apps have been interesting. I just wish this item had 2 things; a head strap and an opening for earphone wires.

Mainly purchased this viewer to use both for enjoyment with my child and also to sample some of the new Google Cardboard technologies. While the viewer works well with all the apps I've tried, the only minor gripe is that there is no diopter adjustment (like on binoculars or a video camera) for the eyepieces. Other than that, it's well made and durable.

This is by far the best of the Cardboard headsets I've tried-- it's comfortable, solidly constructed, and easy to take your phone in and out of. The only thing missing is easy access to your volume and/or headphone jack.

Bought it for my grandson for Christmas. Really didn't expect the visual effects the Viewmaster produced. You do have to purchase rather expensive viewmaster reels but the effects are amazing. It gives you a virtual reality 360 degree 3d picture when you put the required phone inside. Great buy.
