Mattel - View-Master Virtual Reality Starter Pack - Red/Black/White

This is a fun, good-quality viewer for VR apps like Google Cardboard, especially considering the viewers made from actual cardboard cost about as much. My iPhone 6 fit great and worked immediately; similar-sized Android phones should work with no issues, and there is an included adapter for smaller phones like the iPhone 5 series. Based on the included demo reel, I don't think the actual View-Master experience packs are worth the asking price, but I've enjoyed tinkering with Cardboard and the NY Times VR apps so far. As an added bonus, if you had a View-Master growing up, this feels like a shiny new version of an old friend.

I watched and read several reviews of this product. At less than $30, I just had to try it. I'm using an LG3 and I love it. Some apps are better than others, but this is worth the price. The only gripe I have is that it doesn't have a head strap. Even if for just $10 more, I'd buy it with a strap. In using this, I found myself standing in an open area and turning in circles as I looked around. Most of the content on the google store is free, but google had a plethora of apps where you can create content. I think this is the future. Being able to take panoramic pictures and save them in your profile and then letting guest view them via this device with your phone or theirs. The best part is casting your phone to a TV and letting others view what you're seeing as you experience it. A must try at a great price.

This thing is awesome! I got this for my nephew for Christmas and he loves it. I do have a warning though. Don't put a phone in that has a case on it. The latch on the front is a tight fit when you don't have a case on so when you have a case on its nearly impossible to open.

This is so cool for kids. I'm 31 and I was shocked at how cool it was. Works with any phone for the most part.

I mainly bought this to use with Google Cardboard. This has much better build quality than other Google Cardboard viewers, not made of cardboard, and a similar price.

This is not the view master from your childhood. Instead you slide in your cell phone and are fully immersed in 360 degree video. The tech is amazing and really makes it seem like you are in the video as the video moves when you turn your head. What takes this tech down a notch is the amount of good, quality content. You can use any of the Google cardboard apps or YouTube. The vr apps are mostly videos and not that interactive. There's some good content on YouTube, but if you have an iPhone, the YouTube app does not have Google cardboard view on ios. Construction is solid and the phone fits snugly into the unit. Everyone was amazed at some of the demos. Just wish there was more content.

It's way better than Google cardboard for the same price but they need to create better content. It's over priced and not very good.

VR is the hot new thing, but if you're not sure it's for you why spend hundreds on a Rift? This View master is pretty solid and had a low price so it's perfect for trying VR out. I haven't tried the View master apps but the Google Cardboard apps have been interesting. I just wish this item had 2 things; a head strap and an opening for earphone wires.
