We bought this microwave 5 months ago and have since used it daily. It has a safety feature that will display the message "open/close door" if you try to use the microwave without having opened the door within the past 5 minutes. However, we now have to open/close the door two to three times before the message goes away and we can use the microwave. After doing some research online we found that this is a common problem with this model and will only get worse with time, up to the point where the microwave doesn't work at all. I would stay away from this model and get something that is more reliable.

I bought the microwave in May, 2016 and it worked great. I was extremely happy with it until..... July, 2017. I was getting an error message that the door wasn't closed properly for the microwave to go on. It was 1 of 3 switches. I replaced all 3 switches, still no luck. The cost of service is OUTRAGES (Sears wants $250 just to come out and look at it!!). I did some research and sure enough, other people have experienced similar problems with Maytag Microwaves. I really thought Maytag was a good company with great products. Needless to say, I won't replace this with another maytag!

We purchased this microwave for popping corn mostly n after a week or so n after trying several different brands of popcorn we have found out this thing only pops 1/2 to 3/4 if a bag.Maytag sent a technician out to check it n said pretty much too bad.Guess we should of read the reviews on the internet first.Will never buy Maytag again or at Best Buy.Sales lady said it makes great popcorn.. n it definitely does not ..what kind of microwave does not even make popcorn...???
