After going through two washers with all the electronics and latest technology, that didn’t last very long, I am so glad I purchased this washer. I feel my clothes are cleaner than they were with the previous machine. I have washed blankets, towels and even delicate sweaters, and it did a great job on all. The capacity is still good, even with the agitator. There are more than enough available settings. The installer arrived on time, took care installing and even provided some tips (if using liquid detergent, don’t fill the cup more than level 2—it’s all you need even with a max load). I have been using this washer for a month and wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again.

This is the first washer /appliance that wasn't a kenmore. Wow what a difference! I can wash king size comforters in this washer it is great. The overall construction is fabulous quality all the way. Nice amount of settings. The part I love the most is the water sensor, no more guessing or overloading by accident. Clothes, blankets, heavy coats, comforters I've washed everything, and they are so clean& fresh. And made in the USA. How about that. The price was right also. Great value, perfect choice. LOVE IT! Now I want the matching dryer and no kenmores!

yeah. a washer that you don't have to have a PhD in IT to use. a washer that you don't have to rob a bank to buy.
oh, that's right, it's a good old Maytag. Reliable, simple, quiet, fairly priced, and does a superb job of cleaning all my clothes and linens.
FYI, this machine replaced a 40-year old Maytag that still worked fine, but the paint was coming off and the gasket was moldy. So when the Samsung dryer broke down completely, I decided to treat myself to a new washer too.
Please note that this machine is half the price of the so-called modern ridiculously complex ones! (And because it has no chips, it has not suffered from supply chain shortages - it is in stock ready to go!)

After a LOT of research and debate about front load vs top load and agitator vs non-agitator, we decided to go with this relatively old school type (top load w agitator) of washer from Maytag (who get very good reliability reviews on Consumer Reports btw).
The Best Buy order process was simple and the guys who delivered it were awesome. So far we are very happy with the product and the cleanliness of the clothes. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because we have only had it a couple of months so I'm not quite ready to go 100% all-in without some additional experience and time.
The biggest pro is the size of the drum. Even with the agitator in the center, it takes a LOT of clothes in one load and as I said, so far we are very pleased with the cleaning and the rinsing capabilities of it. The only con we have come across so far is how dry the clothes are when they come out. Of course, the idea here is that they then don't have to spend as much time in the dryer therefore saving energy ($). However, if you happen to like to hang some clothes and not use the dryer for them at all, cottons can be pretty wrinkled since they are almost dry when the cycle is finished.
Will try to remember to come back after 6 months and add or revise my comments as necessary.

Good washing machine overall. Nice capacity. Vibrates and shaky during spin cycle, but I gave up on having a quiet washer along time ago. I guess they are not made that well anymore. Hoping to get at least 6 years use. Last washer 5.5 years at 12-15 loads a week.
Delivery was efficient and quick. Only two days versus one week for Home Depot.

Old washer was on the blink and I Love this one because it is literally an upgraded version with practically the same functionality as my old one. Easy to setup and really appreciate the agitator in the middle because it really cleans the clothes unlike the ones without the middle part and you’re basically making a soup out of your dirty clothes. Love it, recommend it and definitely recommend getting the warranty from Best Buy it’s better coverage.

This washer has a huge tub! Washing comforters and blankets is not a problem. When u use fabric softener u have to change the rinse option to 1 rinse with fabric softener or 2 rinses with fabric softener. Also when washing on the normal cycle, the washer stops after the rinse cycle & u have to manually turn the knob to drain & spin. Also once u start the wash cycle, the lid locks & there is no chance of adding clothes u may have forgotten. By reading the manual & using the washer frequently, I am getting familiar with it.

Many Options - Only Fills with Lid Closed

This washing machine has lots of choices for accommodating everything from delicates to heavy towels. And I like it with one exception. The only problem for me is that the machine will only fill with water when the lid is closed. I use liquid laundry detergent and I like to dilute it with the water while the machine is filing. To do this, I have to use an old pencil to "poke in and hold down the sensor" to make the machine thing the lid is closed. Had I known this prior to purchase, I would have purchased a different machine.

After only having an all digital name brand top washer for 3 years before the mother board went out, I wanted something a bit more basic this time. It seems the cost of repairs is about the same as buying a new washer these days. This Maytag 4.2Cu.Ft. top loader fits the bill. It is a bit noisy, but washes clothes very well. It has plenty of room for King size bed sheets even though it has a center agitator.

It took me awhile to learn how to use my Maytag washer but the more I use it the better I like it. It replaced a 15 year old washer that did not have all the nice things on it that this one does, so I have had to play around with the washer until I get it to do what I want it to do! I believe I will enjoy it as the years go by. We were very satisfied with the two men who came to install the washer. They were very neat and also helped me understand some of the things about the washer that I did not know.

The washer is easy to operate. Even with the small agitator, it holds a queen size comforter, with room for more items. The washed items come out clean and fresh. We are very pleased with the performance.

This washing machine is very easy to use and cleans the clothes very well. The spin cycle gets the clothes really dry (I hang most of my clothes to dry so it takes a lot less time to hang dry). It gets a little bit noisy on some cycles, but where my laundry room is located, it’s not an issue. So far so good! My old Maytag washing machine lasted over 30+ years.

Love this washer! If your're like me and have tried the high efficiency washers and realize that they don't actually clean you're clothes, this washer is for you! It is sold as high efficiency and it does have the auto sensor option, BUT if you choose the deep water option, it does fill to within a few inches of the top. It also has an agitator like the old style washers that actually cleaned your clothes!

Pros- large capacity, cleans well, fairly quiet
Cons- auto sensing fill takes FOREVER! If you are just doing a few things, by all means use the sensing fill. If it's a full load, just use the deep water wash.
All in all, we love it. Our family of six can actually keep up with the laundry now!

This fridge is exactly what we needed. Clean design and a solid, traditional top loader. We had issues with our front loader HE machine with mold on the seals and clothes not getting clean enough. This one is very easy to use, it matches our GE dryer very well and Maytag has an amazing warranty. You can't go wrong with this and the price! We have newer appliances but we don't care for fancy designs as these are located in our garage. It does shake a bit during spin cycle but nothing to worry about and is common for top loaders.

My washer that i had for over 20 yrs gave out so i was in a hurry to buy another. Should have done my research.
1) the washer decides the water level which is barely enough to soak the clothes. They dont float. Or you can just do a deep water wash and it fills it to the top so its wasting water if your load is small.
2) the agitator doesnt really wash the clothes thoughly since theres barely enough water in it. Not to mention it moves slowly compared to my old machine.
3) twice in the same wk it got stuck on wash mode( but it wasnt doing anything). I had to restart it and it takes forever to do each load.
I wish i had picked one without sensors where i could pick the water levels of low med high. Ive had it less than a month and i hate it. They just dont make them like they used

We bought an LG about 7 years ago and had nothing but trouble because of balance issues no matter how many times we adjusted the load or settings we used. So many times we would have to re-do the load or put the clothes in the dryer way more wet than we should. We have been really frustrated and just wanted an old school washer that was built like a tank. We stumbled across this one and, although modern and not totally old school, we had it delivered. So far it has been great and being able to start a load and knowing that it will be complete when we go back to it is incredible. We love the water sensing and the size of it. The only reason for 4 stars is that it does make noises that I have never heard before...it’s like we are about to make a jump to hyperdrive. Otherwise great washer!

I bought this washing machine a couple of months ago. It takes some getting used to using since it is a high efficiency washing machine. I just keep the instruction booklet nearby if I'm not sure which option to select. After a few times of using it I got the hang of it. Since it HE, you do need to leave the lid open after use, which is no big deal for me. The other thing I had to adjust to is allowing the washing machine to select the amount of water, it has self-sensing, I can no longer select small, medium, large, etc.
