This was one of the few models with minimal buttons...which is what we wanted! Holds a very large capacity load. All the newer washers are “water misers”, per se, so may need to use deep wash water cycle to obtain desired amount of water to wash clothes.

A while back I had the Maytag Neptune duo and I loved them. I moved recently and decided to upgrade them and I’m happy I did. This washer is top loading and uses very little water. It washes great but it’s noisier than the Neptune. Overall I’m very happy with it.

It is easy to use. The machine is quiet. It does nice, bulky loads, like bed comforters and heavy blankets.

Great washer, nice and quiet without an agitator, clothes come out clean, spin cycle leaves them relatively dry, good options which I never use. Would highly recommend. I have not been paid, nor received a discount for buying this machine, just like it,didn't like last machine.

nice and easy to operate. love the amount of towels I can fit inside! It does make some interesting sounds, but after a few loads it seems normal. Very happy with this washer's performance on a variety of fabrics from heavy duty dirty towels to delicate hand washable.

My mom needed to replace her very old washing machine. We selected this Maytag, based on the recommendation of the Best Buy staff. We could not be happier with the machine -- the tub is HUGE, the machine is easy to operate and is very energy efficient. Love it!

I have been using Whirlpool washing machines for the past few years, and I've decided to look for a machine that would last longer and not rust. I was very happy to find this MAYTAG Washing machine that meets all the expectations and is small enough to fit perfectly into my washer/dryer space. I've had it for a month now, and I can say I am finally satisfied with our washing machine. Also, the drivers were very professional, and they removed the old machine for free and installed the new one for $19 in only 15 minutes. I am impressed for the first time in a long time with good product and good customer service.

Love this sleek, quiet, efficient too load washer. I love the glass top and no center agitator. I love that it’s all old school turn dials and the only electronic part it’s the start/pause button.

We bought this washer with a gas dryer and this washer has no agitator which seems to work just fine. This has a window in the lid, and has soap, softener, and bleach dispensers that show how much to put in. Both machines are quiet and efficient

I bought this for my son and daughter-in-law just after the birth of first grandchild! They had the unfortunate failure of their washing machine about a week after the baby came. I managed to get the old one limping along for them but it was a short term jerry-rig, so I bought this mid-level machine with a five year maintenance plan to remove one source of worry and frustration until the baby is in kindergarden. It seems to clean well and and run great. If I have any complaint about it it would just be that it is noisier than the front-loader it replaced., but that is pretty typical of all the top loader agitator-less models I have seen, so I guess that is typical. Also, spin speed in slower than that machine had, so clothes do seem to take a tiny bit longer to dry.

Overall, this is a solid unit. It effectively measures water needed to reduce usage, is relatively quiet, and seems to be durable. The choice of cycles is more than sufficient for the everyday consumer. The one complaint is how it disperses water. Unlike many machines, this unit will dispense water a little at a time which leads to many starts and stops that are hard on pipes.

Disappointment - from day one to one year later

I’ve had this washer for one year now. I purchased this as a replacement for a washer that had its computer panel fail. The replacement cost was more than the purchase price of a new machine, so I decided to go ahead and buy a new one. I went to Best buy and the guy recommended this machine, as it had the traditional dials versus a computer panel, which should be more reliable. Is the panel reliable? Yes. However, from the very first load (YES, THE VERY FIRST LOAD!!) it stopped mid cycle because the balance was thrown off. The lack of a big agitator like the older top loaders causes the machine to become off balance and just stop. Like other reviewers have stated, the cycle time is long, at least an hour and 10 minutes. When the load stops because it’s off balance, I have to drain and spin, then rinse and spin to ensure the soap is out of the clothes. It takes even longer then, aside from the fact of the inconvenience of having to constantly check on the machine. My clothes always seem clean, no issues there. As I type this, I’m dealing with yet another load where the machine has become off balance and just stopped. This is a major critical flaw that should’ve prevented this machine of ever hitting the market. I cannot wash small load at all. I have to add extra (clean!) clothes to smaller loads unless I wait much longer for certain types of clothes to pile up so I can do a larger load. I am beyond fed up, what a waste of money. I had hoped with the Maytag reputation that this machine would be the best I had in a long time, but it has just been a major disappointment from day one. When it “works”, it’s fine. But the times it actually runs through a cycle normally is few and far between, maybe 25% of the time. And I always arrange clothes so they are balanced when the cycle begins. I’m ready to give my money to a different brand. Also, during installation, they switched the hot and cold hookups, so I had to call Best Buy back to correct it. The guy who came to fix it said well, there are a lot of new delivery guys in this area. Hmm, I thought figuring out how to hookup hot and cold is a very basic part of the job?? Shouldn’t a customer expect for it to be installed correctly so they didn’t have to to take extra time off of work for someone to correct? I hate to have to get a new machine, but I’m sick of trying with this one. One year is enough. DO NOT TAKE A CHANCE ON THIS MACHINE AND HOPE YOU GET ONE THAT WORKS PROPERLY.

I love this washer! What a pleasant surprise. I’ve never had an agitator free washer. This one ROCKS! My clothes are much cleaner, we use less detergent, less water and it can do really large loads. I’m super pleased!

Quiet, I love that it has no agitator, just load the clothes without having to sort them, fills water to cover wash by itself, glass top if you want to peek, just one caveat to remember, push start and release, do not push and hold start button, it will confuse the computer chip and you will have to stop, wait and start over, if you just push and release the start button you won't have problems, took me awhile to smarten up, every machine is a little different, I like this washer and would buy again.
