We had to buy a w/d set for a rental home that only came with hook-ups. I choose the Maytag 200 series set. We moved in mid-November and bought the set right away, with delivery just before Thanksgiving. I really wished I would have waited to buy after Thanksgiving - the price dropped by almost half for that sale weekend. Oh well. I wanted the cheapest Maytag set available, so it doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but we don't need a lot out of our dryer. It has energy saving settings which I use, and which get the clothes just barely dry enough. I'm hopeful this set will last us a long time. 2 months in, I'm very pleased with the performance. Noise-wise, it's out in our garage, so doesn't bother us, but I would say it has the noise level of your typical average dryer. Note*** I received an email that I had to pay for a separate install since the dryer was gas, to the tune of $149. Not needed AT ALL. The delivery guys hooked it up no problem, no fee. I've seen this on other dryer reviews as well. Maybe that's needed for gas stoves, but NOT for dryers.
