Good enough I guess

The door latching mechanism is a little hard to open and close. The power button is not easy to push. It looks nice - but the top is not flat and it is hard to store stuff on the top without it sliding off when the dryer is vibrating. - Overall, I wish we would have picked a different one.

The dryer's heating element went out after 10 years of 5 childrens laundry. This model is not the Bravos line and as such a little noisier, but it was also cheaper in price. It dries clothing very quickly and looks good. If it goes the distance like our previous Maytag I couldn't ask for more.

It fits every need that we asked for runs very quietly. Maytag is a wonderful brand. Own whirlpool and GE dryers in the past this one is far and above the Best one that we have owned.

Also, the door and lint trap are a little hard to open and quite noisy to close. Maybe over time it will be smoother. But overall great!

The top load lint filter stops very little lint, with most of it being caught on the outside of the house in the dryer vent screen. We are a retired couple so don't wash a huge amount of clothes, yet it will plug the outside screen solid within a month or so requiring removal and cleaning to prevent a fire hazard. I have read that the lint filter in many of these Maytag dryers don't reach the bottom of the chute in the outlet, allowing most of the lint to be passed out through the ducting. I believe that this is my issue. I would think that for the cost of these that wouldn't be an issue.

Great Dryer

My entire load is dry, even heavy items. I need to purchase the additional parts to use the steam cycle which I haven't done yet. I can honestly say this dryer is a winner.

They were delivered and professional installed on December 19, 2023. My dryer started to squeak. I did some troubleshooting and even asked for warranty service. I ended up contacting a local service repair company after finding out my dryer is not under warranty anymore. $239.95 dollars later the motor pulley was replaced. Ironically the repair man said, “you are good for another 2 years”. If this part does not have a good track record why wouldn’t Maytag attempt to find a better solution for their product. Also why is Best Buy selling. I am VERY disappointed. Also a warning to future owners that there are parts not under warranty that will wear out quickly. My washer and dryer literally look brand new yet I have already had to invest in repair less then 2 years after purchase. I find that unacceptable.
