I mostly use the "timed dry" option because when we've tried the "sensing" cycles we always seem to need to add more time to get everything completely dry, even when we choose "more" vs. "normal" dryness. We have not used the steam option or the remote enable yet.

I purchased because of the steam function but you need to run a water line and I haven’t hired a contractor to do that yet. Like that it was assembled in the USA.

Second one about 9. This new one is malfunctioning from the beginning. The dryness sensor rarely works. Sometimes the drying cycle finishes with the clothes still very wet. Sometimes the sensor keeps adding time on and running perpetually. Set it to steam refresh and it literally runs forever - just keeps adding time until the clothes are nearly charred. I've had a service person out who changed the sensors and it still behaves this way. Additionally, the top of the dryer is very thin metal - set clothes on it and it dents in (so far it always pops back). The executives at Whirlpool have cost-cutted this thing too far. I'd gladly pay 2k+ for a machine built like my first Maytag. But everyone seems to be building semi-disposable products.
