Very hard to start. Right out of box. Got worse daily. Pure junk!

I am very disappointed in the service level recently received by Best Buy in Elk Grove. The dryer was delivered and was too large for the space, second dry was ordered delivered and installed incorrectly. I now have a gas leak and can't get Best Buy out to correct till Monday. Carbon monoxide poisoning is a serious matter, now have to contact the fire department.

Great loves this dryer quick turnaround time for clothes would highly recommend.

Maytag used to be the top line for Kenmore but was purchased by Whirlpool in 2006. Our mom had an original Maytag that lasted over 10 years. We paid a premium for a Maytag washer and dryer 3 years ago and the lid on the washer was missing a screw and developed a stress crack. It took quite a few calls and serious persistence but they finally sent me a new lid. Last week the gas dryer stopped igniting so no heat to dry clothes. I've replaced the thermal sensor, thermal cut-off valve, and thermister. This should have solved the problem. Close to $200 in parts when a new dryer is on sale for $500. Why would Whirlpool want Maytag to be better than a Whirlpool? Maytags are now less expensive than Whirlpools so we can see where this is going. Maytag is no longer a quality product.

I bought this dryer a month and a half ago and I'm extremely happy with it. It has an extra large capacity and can hold a king size comforter and sheets in one load. It is extremely easy to use. The only down side to this dryer is the lint catcher. The shape of it is awkward. I went and got a bottle brush that I hang next to the dryer and that problem was solved.

Pretty big. Dries fast. Ive even dried weighted blankets in it.

Works well. If I had to buy again, I would probably buy a dryer with less features. Too many buttons really. Also, the dryer is NOT listed as Energy Star Certified on their website. Other sites do not have it Energy Star certified either. This came in play when I was trying to get a government rebate.

A few weeks ago, we bought a Maytag washer to replace a broken front loader. Our dryer was on its last leg so we then bought the matching Maytag dryer. The washer is high capacity so it seemed to make sense to have a dryer with matching high capacity. After a few uses, the dryer started smoking and flames were coming out of the back. It was nerve-racking. BB is coming to replace the dryer this week but I'm not happy with Maytag. I tried like heck to by American but should I have paid up for a foreign LG or Samsung?

I bought this dryer a few months ago. It’s awful. After drying the clothes are far too wrinkly. I usually use Kenmore, which has no wrinkles at all. I don't even want to give it any stars.

We bought this machine in mid-January and have been giving it the benefit of the doubt. Now, six weeks later we really regret having bought it and would gladly replace the thing. Major issue is it runs forever before clothes are dry. Regular heat setting begins at 42 minutes, and continually resets (sensor?) meaning the machine is still running an hour-and-a-half later! The time-dried cycle is useless: it is programmed to run on low heat and cannot be changed. Whereas our previous Maytag dried a load in 35 minutes on ‘timed dry’ setting, this machine on ‘timed dry’ after 90 minutes clothes are still wet. Ridiculous. We spoke on the phone with Maytag who confirmed the heat settings could not be altered. He suggested sending us a kit of some that could test if the heat is functioning properly: it has yet to arrive fifteen days later. Besides the inconvenience of a machine that runs and runs, over which you have no control and can only wait and wait, there’s the issue of added expense to your gas bill. After the success of our last Maytag machine, the performance — and design — of this model is especially disappointing.
