I haven't used this iron very much--have only had it a month. I like how well the steam works on the iron compared to my old iron, and it's fairly light and comfortable, which is one reason I bought it. I could hardly lift some irons I looked at. However, the bottom plate is already scratched! I'm very careful with using ironing cloths and not going over metal buttons/rivets, but after using only a couple of hours, the plate on the bottom has several scratches! I'm disappointed. I called the service number and they said it's under warranty for a year, so I can used it for quite awhile and if I'm still unhappy get it replaced. Another strange thing -- It is advised to use with regular tap water rather than distilled water, which is nice, but I only found the tap water suggestion under the troubleshooting section! Absolutely nothing appeared about that in the instructions for filling the water and using the steam features.

I read the reviews and some were kinda nit picky. This heats up fast, comes with the water filler, is lightweight but made well, doesn't stick to clothes, does an excellent job, steams close from a short distance if you don't want it to touch the fabric and has a nice steam when ironing. Does a fantastic job on low settings also. I'm not sure how having a retractable cord is all that necessary. What's important is how it works. I'm 60, I've used a few irons, this is the best.

I've used this iron about 10 times now and am very happy I purchased it. Iy heats up quickly and has nice functions - highly recommended.

Purchased this iron online to replace an EXTREMELY old Sears steam iron that was still working surprising well, but lacked the modern safety feature of automatically turning off if not used for a period of time. This model can also be used to steam hanging clothes, a real bonus. I also had to awkwardly pour water into the old iron through a really tiny opening. This iron has a nice tank I can fill easily. On the whole, happy with it so far, though have not had it too long.

the best investment ever. I purchased 3 irons in one year because I was dissatisfied with the products. I finally decided to get the Maytag; it was the best of all. Heats fast, lots of steam, simple and easy to use, best price.

Love this iron. Heavy enough but not too heavy. Good steam action. Heats up fairly quickly.

This iron is really great. This iron glide smoothly, feels weighty, and the steam is plentiful when needed.

I mostly iron chinos and button down shirts for work. The difference between this and my old, hand me down iron was immediately apparent. The Maytag heats up very quickly, and begins producing steam within 2-3 minutes of being plugged in. It takes fewer passes over my clothes, and going over a full laundry load takes half as long as it used to. No real cons yet. If I had to nitpick, the cap over the water reservoir is a little “sticky,” and the amount of force it takes to open feels like it could end up broken. Still, highly recommended.

The steam works so well and so fast. I recommend this iron.

Always knew My Maytag washer was the best. Remember the commercials how the Maytag man never was called for repairs?! I thought this would be the same. It is wonderful! Not too heavy. Irons easily after all who enjoys ironing! Love it and you will too.

This is truly a great iron to purchase. It has many features which I choose not to mention. The only problem is the cord. It should retract. All in all I recommend it.

This was a great purchase compared to my old iron. My shirt was ironed in seconds when the older iron took 3 x the effort. This iron glides smoothly in shirts and pants!

This is a average iron, nothing great to expect from this. It doesnt straighten the pure cotton clothes quickly, it takes several rounds and yet shows wrinkle.
