I love listening to my local AM sports radio stations whenever I am in my car and until now, driving time was the only time I was ever able to listen. With the Memorex - Armband Radio, I am now able to listen far more often. Part of my job involves driving to clients a couple times a week and this is when I would normally get to listen to the radio but it was always disappointing not being able to continue to listen once I got back to the office. Now I am able to pick right up where I left off and continue to listen throughout the day at work. The radio works surprisingly well on both AM and FM stations. Very little static makes for easy listening. The built-in alarm function is a nice addition and I really like the sweatproof earbuds that are included as well. There are various sized tips included for the earbuds and I found a size that fit perfectly. At this price point, you really can’t go wrong with the Memorex - Armband Radio and I highly recommend it!

Before the quarantines hit, I had just gotten back into the habit of working out at a local gym again. I picked up this radio with the idea of using it while I run around the track. Seeing as the gym is still closed, I haven't been able to test it fully...but from what I've seen so far, it's not that great. The sound quality is fine, it's the reception that's the issue. Stations that I can tune into clear as day on a standard radio are very static-y on this unit. Granted, I live downtown and signals can be spotty among buildings...but no other radio that I have has these signal issues. I'm keeping an open mind - once the gym opens back up, I will still take it with me for a workout and will revise my review should the signal issues not be present at the gym. As it stands right now, though, I would not recommend.

What an interesting product. A radio with headphones that you wear on your arm. I honestly fel t like I was in the '80s again. I was only able to get stations that were in my own town. We're in my car I can get stations from the town over. I wish that it worked as a speaker as well, But you have to wear headphones to hear it. The sound was great and the headphones fit well. The instructions weren't as clear as I would have liked.

    Retro Vibe, portable AM/FM radio

The Memorex Armband AM/FM radio has a very 1980s retro vibe. I wouldn't be surprised to see a product like this in Stranger Things. This is something my partner and I were very keen to get because in the midst of the pandemic we realized we had no battery-powered AM/FM radio. The Memorex AM/FM radio comes with everything you need in the box - batteries, wired headphones (nice twist free flat cord with 'winged' sports ear plugs), and the armband strap. If you're wondering, yes, it does fit around your arm and secures well but in this pandemic shutdown I am not going to be running anywhere soon. Setup is easy. Put in batteries, turn on, tune. I had no problem picking up a local FM station and the digital tuner lets you put in presets. You can setup up to 20 presets. Audio quality is good, it's what you would expect for AM/FM radio. Size wise, it's a little bigger than I expected, about 2 iphones thick and about 3/4 of an iPhone tall. I took off 1 star because the digital display isn't the easiest to read. But kept it at 4 because if you don't want to use it as an armband radio, the armband can be removed and it will clip to your belt - so plan to use this for yard work.

Does exactly what it says it does

This device is exactly what it says it is and succeeds at doing it. If you want a portable AM/FM radio that you can wear on your arm, it does it. Set up is easy--put in the batteries and it works. The tuning buttons are thankfully large and easy to use. The velcro arm strap seems to work well to secure itself around your arm. There's also a clock function as well. The included headphones will not wow you with sound quality, but that's not a surprise. And with FM radio quality about the same as a heavily compressed mp3s, it's not a problem. If it is, it has a standard 3.5mm jack for using your own. Who is this for? If you are still a heavy user of terrestrial radio, sure. Since a lot of portable music is phone based now, this would seem especially useful if you like listening to sporting events while on the go.

I would have to say kudos to Memorex for making one heck of an arm band radio. I have used this radio while walking, working out, to mowing the grass. I will list some Pro's and Con's to hopefully help you make a decision about this product. PRO: Stylish, Sleek, Sturdy construction, Easy to read, Perfect for any task or activity. Sound quality is surprisingly good. CON: Sometimes it seems to have static. I wish the design was a bit smaller. All in all, there are not many con's to say. If you are looking for a good product for yourself or a gift to someone. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who likes outdoor things and would want to listen to music. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

First, the good. The unit is small, lightweight, and easy to set up. The build quality seems excellent, I had the impression that it wouldn't break easily. The inclusion of 20 AM and 20 FM presets is great, as I can't find that many stations that I would even want to listen to. Controls are intuitive and within reach when wearing. The armband fits securely, making it easy to carry. It comes with a set of wired earbuds. Now, the not so good. In an era of inexpensive MP3 players that sound much better than their low price, the sound quality was jarring. Without the bass boost on, it was like listening to a 1970's era transistor radio. Thinking it was the included headphones causing the problem, I switched them out for a pair of $330 Etymotic ER4s. I was wrong, as it sounded largely the same. With the bass boost on, spoken words sounded a bit more natural (male and female), but the music still sounded cheap.Yes, I understand it's under $20, but I was expecting more. Also, rather than rechargeable batteries, this relies on a pair of AAAs, which feels a bit dated for a portable unit. If you're looking for something inexpensive, easy to carry, portable, and don't care about music sound quality, this is a fine choice. For me, I liked it enough to toss it in my emergency bag (checking the batteries every six months), but not enough to use regularly.

    Gets The Job Done

This Memorex armband AM/FM radio has a very solid feel for something at this price point. You get an armband (too small for my rather meaty arms but worked well on my wrist) and a set of very minimal earbuds. For the most part I live the wireless life but you'll need these as the cable acts as the antenna for the FM radio. The sound quality of the included buds is average at best but for a radio such as this it gets the job done fairly well. I've used it for a couple of walks around a local lake and it got the job done for me. The included clock is handy but I think adding an alarm function is a bit overkill so I don't use it. The digital tuning is on par for what you'd expect. If it's a fairly local station then you're all set. I do wish it had a manual tuning dial to help pick up more distant stations. Overall, for it's price this is a handy radio to have.

If you are caught in a quarantine situation with an allotment of 100 items you can keep with you for 3 months then this will not be part of that list. It is not essential. The performance is mediocre. Looks are okay. The headphones are straight up poor. They will give you extra tips. The audio reception is mediocre, again. I have not had the chance to check battery performance. They use good old fashoned AAA batteries that come with the set. In other words, if you have a smartphone and wireless buds then you really will not need this. If you value good, crisp, audio reception, then this will disappoint you. I also found the band to be a little uncomfortable and stiff. If you are running or exercising, make sure it does not hurt the muscles as they stretch during the workout. Honestly, the headphones were more of a distraction than anything else. If you have an extra pair of headphones then using that might be a good idea. If you want a throwback moment to something that is not smart and has a yesteryear's feel to it, then go for it. The best thing about this is the price. It is cheap and for good reasons. At the same time you can spend that money for something else as well. It is not free and you still need to pay for it. Honestly, I do not find much value, overall.

The radio is sporty looking. With batteries, the weight is comparable to a cell phone. The arm strap is sturdy, adjustable, and comfortable. At no time did I feel like the radio was going to run down my arm or fall off. The radio also feels like it would survive an impact or two if dropped on the pavement from standing height. It is easy to program. Just follow the included instructions. The included earbuds are comfortable in the ear. The radio ships with three different earbud caps to accommodate multiple ear hole sizes. The earbuds also come with a silicon claw that helps the earbuds remain in your ears. I found the default earbud caps and claw to be comfortable. The radio is cable headphones only. No Bluetooth. Tuning between stations is easy. Press the tuner button once to increase or decrease the channel by .1 increments. Press and hold either channel button will cause the tuner to move up or down the spectrum until it finds the next station. Presets, time, and alarm setup are just as easy as changing the channel. The included instructions outline the process for you. The radio is capable of AM and PM. It is not capable of picking up HD or digital channels. Features I did not like. First, there is a constant hiss from the radio. It does not matter if the radio is tuned into a station, between stations, or if the volume is set to zero. The hiss is present regardless of programming material. I would have liked it if Memorex added a noise filter. Next, the volume level is just south of too loud at the lowest level. There are 16 volume levels from 0 to 15. 0 is off. The 1 setting is loud. Setting 2 is way too loud. I would like to have the volume start at a lower volume and get louder from there. I tried this with different wired headphones. It is the radio. Not the headphones. The Memorex has a bass boost setting. The implementation is awful. The feature made the content muddy. One final note. You must press the on/off switch to turn the radio on and off. Unlike your cell phone, or other modern smart audio devices, the content does not stop simply because you pull the headphones out of the headphone jack. You must turn off the radio via the power button or you will burn through your batteries. Overall, for the price, this is a good beater radio. I’ll throw it in my hiking pack and use on hikes, camping trips, and during emergencies where cell reception is unavailable or limited. I can also hook these to any speaker that has a mini-stereo jack. The volume may not be as much of an issue because most portable speakers manage volume independently from the source. Thank you for reading my review.

Great sound , very easy to set up and program stations. The bass option is eh, and the LED time and station indicator is difficult to see in daylight. Definitely recommend as the sound is better than many other arm band radios that I have had.

    ARMBAND RADIO OK

I was hoping the Memorex Armband Radio would be a nice edition to my music playing options, but alas, no. While I liked the style of the armband radio, in use, I found it to be a bit bulky and uncomfortable to wear. It was easy to change stations, etc. Major issue, though, was the FM reception. I was only able to "tune in" to about 4 stations where I had CLEAR reception. Many channels had so much static, that you couldn't hear the broadcast. Again, because of the radio's bulkiness, I find it better to just use my light-weight cell phone when I want to listen to music. I didn't like this product very much, especially with so many other options on the market.
