Worth the money very pleased of product. Only downfall is when it is turned up loud it distorts the music but if you don't have it maxed sound quality is very good

Honestly, I only bought this item because the MUCH better sounding Sony X-Plod portable CD/cassette (yes, cassette) player was not available at the Best Buy I frequent. (In the past, it was where I always bought the Sony.) The sound on this Memorex is weak but adequate. Yet, it's not the excellent sound I got from the Sony that I use/d at jobs. I realize technology goes on and I assume Sony no longer makes the CD X-plod player. So, I guess I'll eventually have to catch up to the rat race of technology and adapt. (I should not have written this review while in a bad mood.) The Memorex is OK for a basic player and I'd recommend it best for a small room or home use where wide-range sound is not desired.

Good quality cd/radio with good sound. Not too big

I enjoy the protablility and lightweight of this product. It plays the cds clearly and loud enough to be heard.

Our blind, disabled daughter loves to listen to the radion while reading her braille books. These radios usually last not more than a couple years at best, so when her radio broke we went to Best Buy for a replacement. There is not that much in the way of selection for just a simple AM/FM/CD Player boombox, so I purchased the Memorex portable one primarily due to price and simple features. She doesn't want or need all the features the higher end ones have and tends to give them heavy use, which is why they don't last that long. So far the Memorex unit has proved to be very easy for her to figure figure out, given her challenges, and the sound quality is reasonable for this type of device.

I purchased this boombox for my husband as a birthday present. He wanted a simple to use boombox to play his CDs. He is very happy with this gift. I also like having the AM/FM radio to listen to.

I purchased this boom box to use in my classroom. It is very lightweight and easy to move throughout the room. The sound quality is what I expected of a simple boom box in this price range.

Good sound, good bass for the price you pay. I can't comment on how long it will last, but going strong after a month of use. Very nice for casual music listening.

I was just glad to find a cost effective way to play CDs. This meets the bill. The buttons are not as intuitive as I would like, but love that the input for headphones is on the front.

I was looking for something I could play CDs on and could move from room to room. I did a lot of reading and comparing, and frankly was dismayed about so many complaints about quality on almost every one I read. I decided to take a risk on this one. I is working fine so far. I have to say that I II am not happy that I had to pay the price I did for something that seems cheaply made, but that seemed to be the case with everything I could afford. This is not a reflection on Best Buy. It was that way everywhere I checked.

Don't buy this if you are fanatical about sound. This is for those of us who can enjoy music without the finest sound. It delivers sound that is good, and well worth it's price.

My daughter wanted to listen to music differently and this was a great option to play cd albums, when you want to take a break from listening to music on iTunes or iPod or MP3 players! Sound is not that great, though!

This is just what I needed, light weight , great sound. I like that it is not big and bulky, yet it's speakers sound quality is excellent.
