Nice intermediate VR headset.

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace my aging Meta Quest 2 headset; for the most part, I was not disappointed. It is more comfortable and has faster load times for most older games. It was also better at streaming Steam VR Games with less stutter than the Quest 2. If I had one complaint, it's that some of the older Quest 2 apps no longer work on the Quest 3. A good example is Netflix. On the Quest 2 it opens in an app that can feel like a virtual environment. On the Quest 3, the app opens a web browser.

I have a Quest 2 and the Quest 3 is a whole different world. The setup was easy, and its comfort is better. Very happy with my purchase. The meta quest 3 made a huge jump in quality and performance compared to the quest 2.

The straps are a bit uncomfortable but you can buy a replacement and those are much better. But the controllers are an upgrade, the graphics are beautiful and the pancake lenses helps so much. It’s so much easier to see when you’re walking around the house since it’s not black and white either.

A big step up from the Quest 2

The pancake lenses are a huge upgrade from the Fresnel lenses in the Quest 2 - there is no sweet spot as it is clear throughout. The higher resolution is very noticeable - no more screen door effect. The weight distribution is so much better - it feels lighter on your face even though it's actually a little heavier in weight.. and the color passthrough is actually quite good... The strap, however, doesn't fit my gigantic head very well so that will be the first thing I replace. lol
