I am an owner of the original oculus quest 2 during covid and let me tell you. THIS ONE blows the quest 2 out of the water. In terms of performance alone, all my games have a greater level of detail. Everything is smoother and new fidelity I didn’t know was possible on a standalone system. The new lenses are a game changer, no more fuzzy text or comparing the view to my terrible vision or dry eyes. Meta as released a product that will stay current for quite some time. Plus, plug this in to a pc with a link cable with a powerful system and you will take advantage of the new lenses even more The controllers are a big upgrade from the previous generation. I constantly clashed the large rings in the last controller, no more issues with that as I reload guns in VR. Lastly, the elephant in the room. Mixed reality, it’s super crisp and a lot of fun! You can go around your house looking like a total idiot but have full visual and fulll functionality after adjusting properly to digital depth perception similar to NVG’s. (Night vision goggles) I can see this being a great product for both gaming and productivity! I have referred people and everyone I tell about the system it literally sells itself.

So many good things to say about this device, where to even start? I guess a bit of background. For my career, I'm a Sr. Technical Writer working from home. For my hobbies, I love 2D gaming and creative writing. The AVP released and naturally, my interest in virtual computing/monitor solutions was more than piqued. Not keen on spending $3,500, I started trialing some "XR glasses", namely the Xreal Air 2 Pro and the VITURE One XR. After that proved to be an absolute fail in the productivity realm, I went ahead and picked up the Meta Quest 3. There was nothing that could prepare me for just how flooring this experience would be. Popping in the headset for the first time is really cool, once you get it adjusted to comfort, which can take a bit of finicking (and some 3rd party accessories, discussed later). The real mind-blowing experience for me though, was downloading the Immersed app (free) from the Meta Store and remote connecting to my work MacBook. In this app, you're thrown into a beautiful immersive 3D environment, where you have complete remote access to the device you're connected to. From here, you can spawn one to five virtual monitors that can be resized, curved, and placed anywhere in your virtual environment. You open the palm of your hand and reveal an interactive menu, tap on the icon with a finger to engage it. This allows you to quickly switch between a virtual environment and passthrough (cameras capturing the real world around you), change your seat in the virtual environment, hide your virtual screens, mute your mic, and more. So aside from being the pinnacle of my virtual office setup, it's also a mind-blowing unit for 2D game consumption, or any type of media entertainment really. The Xbox Cloud Gaming app allows you to stream Xbox Game Pass titles on a massive virtual screen. You can also use Immersed or a paid app like Virtual Desktop to remote connect to your PC, which can then be used for playing PC games on, again, a massive virtual screen. Watching LotR in the same manner is like getting to relive it in the theaters again. If you would've told me that once I get a Meta Quest 3, my physical monitors and TVs would collect dust, I would've never believed it. Experiencing it for the first time and utilizing this invaluable piece of technology for my work and leisure has been an absolute dream. Seriously cannot wait for the future of VR. Also, if you compare this unit to the other VR headsets out there, you'll find the value to be the best available. $500 for the 128GB or $650 for the 512GB is an absolute steal. You get what you pay for, twice over. If you plan on using this unit for extended sessions, I would highly recommend getting a 3rd party head strap. The one I use is called the BOBOVR M3 Pro and it allows me to wear my MQ3 while working for several many hours throughout the day. This is because the weight distribution balances all the pressure loosely on your head, with padding, instead of tightly on your face. TL;DR, if you want a world-changing virtual viewing experience for movies, shows, and 2D games, a superb productivity tool, and a very capable VR/PCVR gaming device, look no further than the Meta Quest 3. Great resolution, great native OS, tons of apps on the Meta Store, option to sideload Android APKs, color passthrough, exceptional controllers, hand tracking, light and compact (it's even lighter than the AVP), tons of 3rd party accessory options, and so much more. Yes, I'm very passionate about the product, but that's only because I've literally seen and experience everyday how much the MQ3 can do for me. I've owned it 15 days and have 125 hours in Immersed. Racked up a ton of Xbox and Demeo (VR tabletop game) hours too. I love it so much.

It’s a little tight for glasses wearers, but I found a way to make it work. Pro tip: use glasses with smaller frames, or consider the prescription lens inserts for the best experience.

Had the valve for a while but needed to upgrade and it was definitely worth it, with the intigrated software i could just play anywhere, hand sensors are fine if you dont have much light then they start acting kinda weird. Resolution is good. I saw people having a lot of issues with tue steam connect maybe because of their internet connecting but i have ad any issues with a cable is even bette. Only complain would be battery life but there a log list of products that deal with that issue as well as others. Overall if you dont wanna spend crazy amount for a vr set up this is definitely a decent product pr just wait for the nrw steam vr

I didn’t expect to love the Quest 3 as much as I do. I originally got it thinking it’d be a cool gadget, maybe some games here and there. Instead, it ended up becoming one of the most useful things I’ve bought in years. The biggest win for me is fitness. I’m doing high-intensity workouts multiple times a week now, and it doesn’t feel like a chore. Stuff like Beat Saber actually gets my heart rate up and keeps me moving, and it’s fun enough that I keep coming back to it. The headset itself feels like a real upgrade too. It’s sharp, smooth, and immersive in a way that’s hard to explain until you try it. It’s also been great for zoning out at the end of the day without just doomscrolling on my phone. After owning an AVP for a week before returning it, I was finally able to use a VR headset for what I originally needed… playing Xbox games remotely. I’ve played Starfield, Baldur’s Gate 3, and Smalland extensively, and it works beautifully. Very quick, zero lag except for an occasional hiccup every couple of hours from my WiFi router. After attempting to acclimate myself to the AVP’s tricky hand motion controls, using the Q3 controllers to navigate menus and controls was so much easier and precise. The only minus is not being able to remotely play at 1080p instead of 4k, but that’s a limit placed on remote gaming by Microsoft, not Quest. Even so, playing a video game on a virtual 100”+ screen is amazing. And it frees up our living room TV so my wife can use it for what she wants to watch while I’m gaming. There are a lot of other bonuses to owning the Q3, such as watching movies and 3-D content on a very-large, customizable, virtual screen. My only recommendation is to also purchase a charging station with rechargeable batteries for the controller… otherwise you’ll end up replacing alkaline batteries on a regular basis. And a storage/carrying case comes in handy, as well.

I made the decision to purchase the Quest 3 on release day. I am very happy with the performance, sharper visuals, and better boundary setup which helps you NOT run into things when you are playing games, whether it's a heated boxing match or a realistic shooting game. The hand tracking is better and the mixed reality/passthrough is wonderful and life like. All in all this has been a worthy upgrade but I do have to take a star away for the strap which is still uncomfortable and a complete money grab attempt by Meta to force you into buying their Elite Strap. Battery life is about 2 hours as well which is not ideal. Despite these two flaws, I do not regret the purchase as this is the most unique gaming experience out right now. Get it, you won't regret it.

Enhanced graphics and customization in profile. Very fun but still limited on different games and apps as it is all offered through Meta. Unless you are really dedicated to using a certain app, it can honestly get kind of boring. I would suggest getting attachments as the headset is uncomfortable and need an extended battery for longer playtime. Feels more comfortable than Meta Quest 2.
