The quality
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had the Meta Quest 3 for a couple of weeks now, and I’m honestly blown away. The visual quality is a huge upgrade — sharper graphics, better colors, and a wider field of view make everything feel more immersive and real. What really sets it apart is the mixed reality. Being able to blend virtual elements into my actual environment is a game-changer. Whether I’m working out with Supernatural, playing Asgard’s Wrath, or just exploring my apps, everything feels smooth, intuitive, and super engaging. Comfort is great, the passthrough is shockingly clear, and setup was simple. This headset proves VR is no longer just gaming — it’s the future of entertainment, creativity, and even productivity. If you’re on the fence, get it. Worth every penny.

Big step up but requires additional headstrap
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coming from a quest 1 and tried a friends quest 2. This is a massive step up in quality. Screen looks much clearer and feels much lighter. I would recommend getting a different head strap because the little jock strap it comes with sucks and hurts my head. With an upgraded strap this thing is a lot of fun. Would also recommend getting a strap with another battery if you plan on playing for longer than an hour or two at a time

Improved over Quest 2 overall
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Meta Quest 3 is a really impressive VR headset that greatly improves upon the Quest 2. It provides enhanced performance, comfort, and display quality. The screens are sharper, making games look absolutely fantastic. The full-color passthrough works nicely, though it might miss some small details in low light. The image can sometimes appear grainy or soft, especially in dim settings. It’s not quite high-res enough to replace seeing the real world directly like the Vision Pro

Good headset, be warned though...
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an overall alright headset by Meta, it feels lighter and is more graphically powerful than the quest 2. Just a word of advice, if you plan on spending many hours with this device. You will need to spend more money on accessories which raises the base price. The provided headstrap is terrible and uncomfortable, along with the battery life as well which is realistically around 1 hour and 30 depending on device usage in passthrough which drains faster. The passthrough is terrible if your house has terrible lighting, unless you have a lot of windows or studio lights expect a grainy passthrough. Would I still recommend this headset? Yes! The ability to play standalone wherever is amazing around my house, and being able to wirelessly connect to my PC and play all my VR games with zero lag is also amazing! So it just depends on whether you think the upgrade is fit for you in the end in terms of money.

A huge upgrade over the Quest 2.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a huge improvement over the Meta Quest 2 which I also own. I was shocked when I first turned it on and the passthru came into view. I had no idea that I'd be able to see my real surroundings in such detail. I can read my phone and watch with the headset on. Games are faster, smoother. The resolution is much better. The fit feels better even with the default strap. I'm waiting on a BoboVr M3 which should provide and even better wearing experience. The pancake lenses are sooo much better than the lenses on the Quest 2. This unit will require upgraded external batteries. The external supplemental batteries you may have bought for your Quest 2 are not going to last very long on the Quest 3 and may not work at all. Quest 2 headstraps will not work with the Quest 3 without modification or conversion kits.

Perhaps the greatest piece of technology I've had.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So many good things to say about this device, where to even start? I guess a bit of background. For my career, I'm a Sr. Technical Writer working from home. For my hobbies, I love 2D gaming and creative writing. The AVP released and naturally, my interest in virtual computing/monitor solutions was more than piqued. Not keen on spending $3,500, I started trialing some "XR glasses", namely the Xreal Air 2 Pro and the VITURE One XR. After that proved to be an absolute fail in the productivity realm, I went ahead and picked up the Meta Quest 3. There was nothing that could prepare me for just how flooring this experience would be. Popping in the headset for the first time is really cool, once you get it adjusted to comfort, which can take a bit of finicking (and some 3rd party accessories, discussed later). The real mind-blowing experience for me though, was downloading the Immersed app (free) from the Meta Store and remote connecting to my work MacBook. In this app, you're thrown into a beautiful immersive 3D environment, where you have complete remote access to the device you're connected to. From here, you can spawn one to five virtual monitors that can be resized, curved, and placed anywhere in your virtual environment. You open the palm of your hand and reveal an interactive menu, tap on the icon with a finger to engage it. This allows you to quickly switch between a virtual environment and passthrough (cameras capturing the real world around you), change your seat in the virtual environment, hide your virtual screens, mute your mic, and more. So aside from being the pinnacle of my virtual office setup, it's also a mind-blowing unit for 2D game consumption, or any type of media entertainment really. The Xbox Cloud Gaming app allows you to stream Xbox Game Pass titles on a massive virtual screen. You can also use Immersed or a paid app like Virtual Desktop to remote connect to your PC, which can then be used for playing PC games on, again, a massive virtual screen. Watching LotR in the same manner is like getting to relive it in the theaters again. If you would've told me that once I get a Meta Quest 3, my physical monitors and TVs would collect dust, I would've never believed it. Experiencing it for the first time and utilizing this invaluable piece of technology for my work and leisure has been an absolute dream. Seriously cannot wait for the future of VR. Also, if you compare this unit to the other VR headsets out there, you'll find the value to be the best available. $500 for the 128GB or $650 for the 512GB is an absolute steal. You get what you pay for, twice over. If you plan on using this unit for extended sessions, I would highly recommend getting a 3rd party head strap. The one I use is called the BOBOVR M3 Pro and it allows me to wear my MQ3 while working for several many hours throughout the day. This is because the weight distribution balances all the pressure loosely on your head, with padding, instead of tightly on your face. TL;DR, if you want a world-changing virtual viewing experience for movies, shows, and 2D games, a superb productivity tool, and a very capable VR/PCVR gaming device, look no further than the Meta Quest 3. Great resolution, great native OS, tons of apps on the Meta Store, option to sideload Android APKs, color passthrough, exceptional controllers, hand tracking, light and compact (it's even lighter than the AVP), tons of 3rd party accessory options, and so much more. Yes, I'm very passionate about the product, but that's only because I've literally seen and experience everyday how much the MQ3 can do for me. I've owned it 15 days and have 125 hours in Immersed. Racked up a ton of Xbox and Demeo (VR tabletop game) hours too. I love it so much.

Excellent product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m seriously impressed with the Meta Quest 3. Setup was super easy, and the headset is way more comfortable than I expected—I can wear it for a long time without it feeling heavy. The graphics are a huge step up, everything looks sharp and clear, and the mixed reality feature is awesome. Being able to see my surroundings while still interacting with virtual objects feels like something out of the future.

Looking forward to the future of VR.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am thoroughly enjoying my time with the quest 3. So far the Mixed Reality feature, while a bit grainy in lower light, has proven to be a worth while addition. In fact, I truly wouldnt want to use another headset that does not incorporate pass through. Its a convenience, once used, youd always find a need for. Quick drink of water, bite of food, or even grabbing something you just set down is easily possible. Besides all this, the graphics do appear to be held back, when titles are targeting all headsets or both q2 and q3. This is something i imagine will subside once we get further into the Q3 generation. All these standalone features and you can still hook up to a PC for maximum graphical and processing output. I consider this device a win, in most areas and would argue that its definitely a worthwhile/ worth spending upgrade from the Q2. I hope it can attract enough of an audience such that VR gets more serious finacial backing and more intrest from our favorite IPs in gaming. To conclude: The quest 3 has me enjoying VR experiences, but has me looking forward to the future even more so.

Good value dual purpose headset
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good headset so far. Better field of view than my HP Reverb G2. Quality is similar in flight simulators, my primary use. Could be a bit brighter and the color balance seems a bit on the blue side. Good value for serving as a dual purpose stand alone and pc vr headset. Image not quite up there with the Pimax CrystalScan, but neither is the price. The outside world passthrough was the clincher for me. The strap needs a replacement. You read about this on the reviews and it is true. Bought a BoboVR S3 Pro. Difference is night and day. I would buy this headset knowing you are going to spend a few bucks to make it a lot more comfortable. Meta should have caught this out of the gate. Battery life is short, but Meta says the new software will extend life some. Personally, 90 minutes is about enough for me, but some may need more time than that and you will require an external power source or battery pack to get that.

Meta Quest 3
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. That's a fantastic summary of the Meta Quest 3! You've really hit on its strengths and those couple of little things that could be better. Here's a friendlier way to put it, keeping your core message: Despite a tiny little grumble about the head strap (come on, Meta, we need more comfort!), the Meta Quest 3 is an absolutely incredible piece of tech! It genuinely feels like we've jumped ahead to the next generation of standalone VR, giving us this amazing mix of super immersive virtual reality and truly groundbreaking mixed reality. It's just a joy to use!

Comfortable and Wireless!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had many VR headsets, this one is great because 1. it's wireless and 2. mixed reality is a blast to mess around with! Battery life is okay, but can be expanded easily. The best thing about it though is that it's COMFORTABLE. If you've used a lot of headsets, you know that usually you have to swap things to make it ergonomic. The Q3 is pretty cozy right out of the box, made even better with the elite strap.

We know comfortable the elite strap is but if extra battery life is what you are after, you should definitely check out our Meta Quest Elite strap with battery. Our premium head strap combines the best in comfort, durability and support while offering an additional two hours of headset use thanks to a built-in battery pack.

Meta Quest 3- Good
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Meta Quest 3 is an impressive and very capable VR headset. The image quality is a big improvement over previous generations - sharp visuals, good colors, and much less screen-door effect. Performance is fast and smooth, the interface is intuitive, and there’s a large library of games and apps. The mixed reality features are especially cool and add a lot of value. The controllers are lightweight and track well, and overall the headset feels well-built and thoughtfully designed. From a technical standpoint, this is one of the best standalone VR headsets currently available. That said, during my personal use I started experiencing vestibular issues. After relatively short sessions, I would feel dizziness, disorientation, and general discomfort, which forced me to take frequent breaks or stop using it altogether. I tried adjusting settings and limiting session time, but the symptoms kept coming back. I understand this is highly individual and won’t affect everyone, but I think it’s important to mention. If you’re sensitive to motion sickness or have vestibular problems, this headset may not be comfortable for long VR sessions. Bottom line: an excellent, high-quality VR headset with great features, but unfortunately not a good fit for me due to how my body reacted. I’d recommend trying it before buying if possible, especially if you’re prone to motion sickness.

We are truly sorry to hear that you experienced vestibular discomfort and motion sickness during your sessions. While we strive to make VR as comfortable as possible with high refresh rates and specialized optics, we recognize that individual sensitivity to motion varies significantly.

Escape From Reality
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I remember being blown away when I first tried the Quest 2—it felt like something straight out of a sci-fi movie. I even rushed home early from work when it was delivered, and I was instantly hooked, spending hours in VR until motion sickness hit me. When the Quest 3 came out, I did tons of research and couldn’t resist the idea of a VR experience that’s clearer, smoother, lighter, and even more immersive. I bought mine from Best Buy and rushed home to dive in—and wow, it’s a huge upgrade! Everything I loved about the Quest 2 is better. The passthrough feature is a game-changer as well—I found myself wandering the house with floating screens in front of me (even parked one in the bathroom once, no joke). The Quest 3 is perfect for anyone wanting to feel completely immersed in incredible games and virtual environments. It’s fun, intuitive, and absolutely worth it. Highly recommend!

Excellent VR Headset, With a Few Issues
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've loved the Quest 3 as far as its library of VR titles goes; there's plenty of variety and the quality of the visuals themselves is outstanding. I bought the Silicone Facial Interface but actually went back to the default one as the cloth feels better to me personally; I plan to switch them out though when I share the headset with company as the silicone cleans more easily. Beyond this there are a couple of issues I feel are worth mentioning. First, as many other users online have already noted, the Passthrough feature seems to be "mileage varies"; even with what I consider good lighting it tends to be grainy, albeit still good. Reading text off of a TV, PC, or phone may require bringing yourself up close to it. In short, it's functional but nowhere nearly as crystal clear as Meta's demo videos showed. The next issue is with the headset's design as far as interfacing with either the Elite Strap With Battery or the Link Cable. I say "either" because you're going to have unplug the Elite Strap With Battery anytime you want to use the Link Cable to play PCVR titles, as there's only a single port. I can't believe this is a mere oversight (even though presumably your Quest 3 draws power from the PC when using the Link Cable); it's enough of an annoyance to mention here. Lastly, for anyone wanting to use their Quest 3 wirelessly with PC to expand their available library to include games such as Half-Life: Alyx, be aware that D-Link's Air Bridge may or may not work for you, even if your PC meets all the criteria. For some folks demoing the Air Bridge on Youtube it seems to work flawlessly and easily, but for me it simply refused to connect despite being detected by both the PC and the headset. I had to return three of them before finally giving up after exhausting every troubleshooting idea I could find. Since then I've tried the Virtual Desktop app (which costs a fraction of the price) and had much greater success. Overall the Quest 3 is a very good VR headset though, and the advantages of its being wireless and self-contained also can't be overstated. I definitely recommend getting the 512GB model over the 128GB because I've already filled almost 100GB of its storage already with less than a dozen games.
