This is the best country music album I have heard since Jamey Johnson's "The Guitar Song" and Billy Joe Shaver's "Long In The Tooth" Sturgill Simpson is a great lyricist and singer and has a hot band for these great songs. Although the album is kinda short, don't let that stop you from buying it. Great!!!

Refreshing country music that isn't written in a computer lab and regurgitated by some "country" artist.

Sturgill Simpson is a rising star in the country scene. A lot of people are tired of this "New Age", "Bro" Country that has been going on for the last 5-10 years and this is what you should pick up. Sturgill's sound is reminiscent of the Golden Age of country, mixed with an alternative vibe when it comes to the meanings behind his music. He isn't the same style of Chris Stapleton, but I'm glad these two have burst onto the scene and are taking Country Music back to its roots.

I'm not a fan of new country music but this album is great. Dan Auerbach has great production on this one

First thing I've bought by Sturgill. Love it! Seems like he's not afraid to stretch the boundaries. I love that. Love the lyrics too!

But still a lot of good stuff here that breaks all the tradition rules of outlaw country!

And I'm not even a country guy! Sturgill's twist on the stale awfulness that has become modern country radio is simultaneously engaging and refreshing. Very cool stuff.
