I would recomment connecting your speaker to the mount before trying to put it into the door

You can either remove them or just leave them and screw it down anyway. I just left them as they supplied flexing tension for a tight fit.

Easy to install...had to beak away two of the clips to make them work with my new kicker speakers. They work on Chevy Silverado 2500HD 2001.
