Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the significantly improved graphics, refined controls, and the overall quality of the remaster as major strengths of Metroid Prime Remastered. Many also praise the game's performance and the price point. While some players found the difficulty and backtracking challenging, the positive feedback on the visual and gameplay enhancements outweighs these concerns.

Its a fantastic game, bought it to prepare for metroid 4. The remaster looks even better on the switch 2.

While Metroid Prime 4 is still on hiatus, Nintendo and Retro Studios have gone back to their roots by remastering one of their classic GameCube title and Samus’ first 3D adventure in the world of first person shooters Metroid Prime. You take control of Samus Aran on a mission to discover the secrets of Talon IV while blasting deadly alien creatures and collecting items and weapons along the way to power up Samus’ armor in order to defeat the Space Pirates and life sucking Metroids. With this new remastered release, the graphics/visuals are beautifully stunning and bright compare to the original GameCube release which was dark and shady. Landscapes are also imaginative. Whether in the hot magma of Magmoor Caverns or in the Wintery ice of Phandrena Drifts, the scenery is just mind blowing. Unlike the 2D Metroid games which are sidescrolling Platformers, you control Samus in a first person perspective while tackling 3D environments and tricky platforming. As hard as that may be, there are times you can miss your jumps as you can barely see the platform unless you look down after jumping so it will take some time to maneuver those jumps. As for the combat, it’s by far the best and Metroid Prime Remastered does a sensational job with the controls. No longer must you hold buttons to look around, and instead use analog controls which is very useful for players. With all these great new features, Metroid Prime Remastered is the perfect version of the original Metroid Prime for Metroid fans old and new.

I’ve always loved the Metroid series but never played any of the 3D titles. While it’s definitely easier than the 2D games that came before and after it, I find it refreshing as the environment and music are super immersive and weird and wonderful, giving you more time to explore rather than shoot through rooms. It’s amazing how well they were able to translate everything you’ve come to love about the 2D games in 3D form. That all said, if you’re new to the series, it’s not a bad place to start and you won’t feel lost or confused. The only thing that can get confusing is the map but zooming out to world map and then back in to local map will help guide you to which exits route you to what entrances in different parts of the game. The environments are gorgeous and I found the size of game to be great. It’s very refreshing with all of the 100+ hour open world games with meaningless filler content. The soundtrack is on another level. It’s up there in the top 10 video game OST’s for me. My fingers are crossed that 2&3 will eventually get the same treatment and be released for the switch soon. And thank you Best Buy for keeping my preorder on time and in stock. I saw the articles and posts online about out of stock nightmares and canceled orders from other vendors. That said, I was a bit nervous that my order status didn’t change until just a few hours until morning of pick up.

Should be called a remake. These graphics are the best you will see on Switch. The updated controls and gyro add to the package as well… and all for $40? When is Nintendo ever this generous with pricing. You should have this game in your cart already and be checking out rather than reading this.

After having played the GameCube original recently, this version strikes a great balance between preserving the classic look and feel while modernizing certain elements to further enhance the game overall. The new visuals are great, and the newly improved control scheme is a welcome addition. I also respect that it offers the classic control scheme to further maintain the feeling of the original, especially if you have the GameCube controller and adapter to take advantage of it. As for the game itself, it truly stands the rest of time with its immersive atmosphere, intelligent level design and memorable boss encounters. Whether you are revisiting or discovering this game for the first time, this is an excellent choice to add to the Switch collection.

An absolutely incredible remaster. The only functional changes from the 2002 original - which was already an all-time great game - is the new dual stick control scheme, which helps improve a lot of navigation and combat but never trivializes it or deprecates the lock-on targeting mechanic. Visually, a perfect upgrade on the original. You'll swear that everything you see is what it was really like 20 years ago, but any comparison will show you this is a great enhancement without sacrificing on of the moody atmosphere. If you've never had the chance to play the Metroid Prime before, do NOT miss this remaster. It's one of the best games on Switch.

Wonderful true to form remaster of an atmospheric, isolating, first person adventure from the early 2000's. Metroid Pime has aged incredibly well, there's only a few minor issues I have with it as some one who grew up playing it. The scan dash is gone, the original staff were given very little acknowledgement in the credits. The game looks, sounds, and runs beautifully. Bear in mind, Metroid Prime games are slower paced than most moddern games and you will need to remember to scan objects to learn how to deal with them, solve puzzles, and fight enemies. Expect that you likely will get lost if you turn off hibts on your first play through, getting lost is part of the genre that is Metroidvania.

This is an amazing remaster. It has updated graphics that make samus' suit look realistic and the environment look more scenic and often times terrifying. I love the ability to use the classic control scheme for those who have the nintendo switch gamecube controller and want to play it just like it was intended and the pointer and dual stick schemes for those used to the wii and fps controls.

This is quite possibly the best remaster I have ever played. It is the total package. Graphics have been substantially upgraded while being careful to maintain the look and feel of the original game that was known for being very atmospheric. Control options GALORE, which I honestly appreciate more than anything (dual stick + gyro option is life changing). And most importantly, the game is fun. Its satisfying, it’s interesting to explore, it’s challenging without being unfair, it’s memorable, it’s unique…it’s magic. Pick it up immediately.

A perfect remake of one of the Game cubes greatest games. Beautiful graphics and great controls. Nintendo hit a home run with this remake, and I can't with for Metroid Prime 4 .

Still the same classic game, with completely rebuilt visuals, with minimal quality of life changes and control updates! If you haven't experienced this classic, definitely pick it up! Or if you have, play it again! 9/10

Graphically very impressive for Switch, perhaps the best looking game Switch offers. But very faithful to original - some monsters get some improved visual design but gameplay is virtually unchanged. Includes some voice and captioning options from Japanese and European version, and controller style options not available in original GameCube release. Unfortunately, too faithful to the original two difficulty levels. I'd have appreciated a difficulty level between the too-easy Casual and too-hard Normal levels: either double the damage inflicted by enemies or double their health, but not both for Normal mode. Both should have been a Hard mode.

An excellent remake of one of the greatest games of all time. If you played the original, you'll know what I'm talking about, and if you didn't... I'd strongly recommend you rectify that as soon as possible. The same masterful game as it always was, newly invigorated with modern control options and vastly improved graphics. The physical version has been difficult to find, so I'd recommend picking up the cartridge if you get the chance. If not, definitely pick it up digitally, because you owe it to yourself as a gamer to experience this classic. Don't miss it.

I played this game originally for the GameCube way back when and it’s still a blast to play. The polish that Retro Studios has done here is amazing.
