I was going to pick this movie up from Walmart when I saw it there but I found this collector's version at best buy and love it. Its a steelbook with a plastic slip cover. Very good sturdy packaging. It may be best to pick this up in store just in case there are some imperfections. If you just want to see the movie then you can get this cheaper in a standard edition.

If you are a fan of Astroboy style animation, but done with today's technology, then you will love this movie. Personally, i loved this movie. It's a bit of a tear-jerker. Also, this is the steel book version. Bestbuy's website wasn't too clear about that, so i had to just take a shot and hope this was the version i was looking for. Luckily it was.

I didn't realize how much of a difference Blu-Ray made until I compared this to my old DVD edition. The improvement in sharpness and detail is startling and it felt like I was really seeing it for the first time. Great packaging, too !

This movie is based on Osamu Tezuka's (known for Astro boy and an inspiration for Akira Toriyama of DragonBall) Manga from 1949, the art visuals are some of the best in anime and the steelbook it comes in is nice. definitely worth buying!

The steelbook this came with is great and so is the movie. I orignally saw this as a kid a long time ago and I'm glad I was able to pick it up again.

One of the better anime movies of all time. Hidden gem in film making and comparable to the source material. Highly recommend it.

I bought this on DVD when it was first released many years ago & I thoroughly enjoyed it. The screenplay was written by Katsuhiro Otomo, the writer & director of Akira, and it was directed by Rintaro, the director of many great classic shows & movies such as: the Galaxy Express 999 movies, both Captain Harlock Space Pirate- TV series & X the movie. At first, I was skeptical of whether or not to purchase this on Blu-ray, having already owned it on DVD. But after reading several positive reviews, I decided to buy it. The Hi-Def picture alone was worth the money! When watching the old scan on DVD, the hand drawn animation looks very blurry & it doesn't seem to blend with the CGI animation. With this newer scan, everything looks crisp & the picture is gorgeous to look at! This film is an homage to Osamu Tezuka & Fritz Lang. If you are a fan of classic Anime, or a lover of classic Cinema, you will enjoy this. You may even get emotional. I found myself weeping at the end of the picture. Highly Recommend!

Talk about an interesting take on the Fritz Lang classic! Awesome if you enjoy anime and classic films. The steelbook is amazing and has a slipcover to it with the title which just adds all the more to overall premium feel of it. My only gripe is that the video quality feels a bit date and I wish it could get an entirely new remaster issued. Either way, highly recommended!
