Started streaming the 1st episode on t.v. the other night and got totally fed up with nbc & bravo commercial spots, so I looked on Best Buy to see if it was available on dvd and was pleasantly surprised to see that it was also available on blue-ray.

If you grew up watching Miami vice then you will love it.

Great HD discs of a great visual series. Worth it.

Brings me back to my youth!!! Besides entertaining storylines, really enjoy seeing all the eighties clothing, cars etc... hysterical! Really enjoying watching!

Miami Vice Complete Series Blu-Ray Set Is Fantastic

Miami Vice is the television series that defines the 80’s with music and Crockett and Tubbs. One of my favorite television series of the 80’s.

First time watching the show, it’s a great set and looks fantastic on blu ray!

Nice set but there are no subtitles. It may not make a difference to most but I might not have ordered the set had I known subtitles were missing.

Just like my previous review for SPEED RACER - how do you write a review for an iconic TV show? First and foremost! If you have not heard the first pressings of the box set were defective. Mill Creek crossed up something in mastering and the sound was incorrect on a couple discs. I purchased this right off the shelf and went home and tested the known episodes. I was thrilled these were the fixed versions and I did not have to ship off the discs for replacements. Again as my SPEED RACER review went - DVDs vs Blu. I paid more for my first season of MIAMI VICE Complete First Season then I did for this Blu box. There are 5 seasons. The DVDs took up a lot of shelf space. Now I have 5 slim blu cases in a box which takes up a little bit less then the original first season (on DVD). It's an iconic show what can I say? They did format it in the 1.33:1 ratio (non widescreen TVs) which some folks have complained about but hey the show was filmed for a square screen. From the episodes I have watched the "REMASTERED IN HIGH DEFINITION and sizzling 5.1 SURROUND SOUND" is a bit much. Back when it was broadcast it was a "stereo" show. When I change the audio during playback the HD sound requires me to turn up the volume. Not saying that is a bad thing just mentioning it.

With the Bluray the picture looks even better than when the show was first shown on non-HD TV!

As a 1980s fan this is a must have for your personal collection.

I spent the past year re-watching Miami Vice. I hadn't seen it since the 80s. Just loved it. You can see right away why it was so popular! It mostly holds up well and what does seems dated is also interesting just to see how TV shows (and music, fashion, etc.) have changed. This is simply one of the all time great television programs.
