Rip off

When I tried on my 2 nd device, it would not let me. It is limited to only 1 download. I called, brought in the printed paper, the employee said, “yes, that is misleading, sorry”.

Poor customer service

The desk was seriously understaffed. I found 6 employees standing around visiting with each other and a manager and when approached about maybe helping the long line of people at geek squad they scattered like flies. When I asked the young female manager if someone could help, she said no.. they were scheduled on the floor and couldn’t leave it to help out.. when asked if she could help, she gave the same runaround. When I asked for the name and best way to contact the store’s general manager I was told to call the stores main number and ask for them that way. When I asked her for the best time to reach them I was told, “I don’t know their schedule” in a rude tone.

What a shame

Boo hoo to you Microsoft . There are so many other ways to benefit from your products. This is shamefully not one of them. Not only are consumers paying for a yearly subscription for the same product, it also advertises your product manipulation and monopoly! Can the consumers be treated better ? I admit Microsoft is a great product but it is such a selfish and unnecessary way to rip people off yearly. At least you could make an every two year subscription!!!

Don't buy it if you already have a family plan

He said it would add onto it and extend it. It took me a long time and multiple phone calls to find out that all it would have done was change my family plan into a single pc plan. It took another phone call to a special part of Best Buy to get my money back on it but I finally did happen. Don't but it unless you really just need a personal plan and don't already have one. Stupid purchase on my part and bad plan from the sales person.

SINGLE USE EQUALS DISAPPOINTMENT

Thus I had to uninstall and purchase the new 365 as a family. Thus I lost the purchase price of the single person plan. It was quite an ordeal to figure all this out and ensure our computer could be given "read to go" on Christmas. I deeply regret losing the purchase price of the single use plan At age 80, I have been left with a wide range of feelings and disappointment.

VERY Disappointed

I ended up spending 2hrs on the phone with 10 different "specialists" who said it was fixed, and was NOT. They also lied about ending the remote control of my computer. So I spent another 2 days in the store trying to get the problem fixed. Finally on the 2nd day after another 2hrs they finally installed the correct Microsoft 365 Family version. Very frustrated and disappointed in there service especially after the amount of money I spent buying the new laptop to begin with.

Best Buy stole money from me.

I got home and i already had this. After calling Best Buy i was assured i would get a refund. I go to the store in Summerville SC and a supervisor told me that i couldn't get a refund and that they don't refund any software. So i call Best Buy and only got 6.99 back on the software i paid 69.99 for. I only had this software for 4 days and haven't even registered it. I had 60 dollars stolen from me by Best Buy. I'm sure they needed my money more than me.

The salesperson was lying to me

The salesperson told me BestBuy can sell me the Personal version for $50/year. I told him that if it's only for one year, it's not worth it for me to switch. He assured me that I can pay the same cost every year afterward. I bought the license, but found out later that it only works for one year. I returned later to find the salesperson, but he was not around anymore. I have not activated the license yet. BestBuy should refund the money to me.

Buyer beware

Well once I hooked up my computer I realized that I didn't need Microsoft 365 because I was able to use Google Docs for free. When I tried to return Microsoft 365 back to Best Buy they wouldn't refund me the purchased price because they said they had no way of knowing if I had already downloaded it on my computer. Well if I purchased it from Best Buy & you have to register the software before you download it on the computer, Best Buy should have a way to tell if you registered the software or not by looking up the Product Key. Anyway, I was very disappointed that I had Microsoft 365 which I don't need and I'm out of $59.99 for a yearly subscription. I know you may say just download the software and use it since it's paid for but I don't want to do that I wanted a refund.

Buyer beware - Purchase license from MSFT directly

Despite statements that you can upgrade this product to a family account, you cannot. This is NOT the same as a Microsoft license. This is despite assurances in-store, on the phone and in the Q&A for this product. Best Buy customer service is completely useless as it pertains to this. I highly recommend to save yourself some headache and purchase the license directly from Microsoft. There is no benefit to buying it from Best Buy. It will only lead to headaches in the long run.

Getting run around on refund

Then Geek Squad no you already have a subscription. Best Buy manager refused to refund; said call Microsoft. Microsoft said no, the third party seller must refund. Called Best Buy customer service, they said go to store personally and ask manager again. I live 90 miles from Wichita and already made two trips. My next step is to contact Best Buy Corporate in Minnesota.

However i did not receive the 1 Tb of storage that comes with the subscription. Best Buy refused to help me. They said to call microsoft. Microsoft said to call best buy. Best Buy would not take my call. I will no longer do business with best buy because they do not support what they sell

The customer help is non existent. There is no way to reach a human for tech support. I brought my laptop to best buy and they said there were several complaints of the same nature. Desperate for help-No customer Service no Empathy

I purchased the product and attempted to download it to my new Apple Laptop that I also purchased on the same day, without any success. It later told me my code had expired. I later went to Best Buy seeking some assistance and I was advised I had to pay $40 to get assistance on a product that was newly purchased and never used. I requested a manager sharing my desperation and my need for help because the customer service that I received from the techs was not helpful. The manager who happened to have the Geek Squad jacket on stated $40 fee is required for assistance and he could not waive it because it was a new purchase and never used. The lack of customer service and empathy was galling. I then requested a full refund which he processed speedily with no remorse that I just purchased a product that failed to download. I am total baffled by his total lack of customer service. He rather return the money in full rather than keep a customer.

Stolen Key Code sold as "new"

Was given a website to install at home but was instantly "blocked" from my accounts for attempting to install "stolen" software. It appears the service had already been "sold" to someone else before it was re-sold to me

After Only 2 Months MS Does Not Recognise 15TH SUB

Owned for 3 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.HORRIBLE! ordered in May 2024 a 15 month subscription and Microsoft is demanding I purchase another subscription though them directly to access W X and P, I cant use any of it on my Mac through the 15 month subscription I purchased via BestBuy. and this is also a problem I had with prior Mac when I purchased direct to Microsoft, same issues which is why when I purchased new. Mac I made sure to purchase a 25month subscription! it was good for maybe 1 month then no longer. WORSE mircsoft has NO OnLine and NO Phone customer service, those numbers and the site just drag you in circles and won't assist intelligently ! microsoft is horrible, needs competition. And best buy's customer service I'm now into 40 minutes waiting for someone to pick up and when they do it's been all heavy static. I'm furious

Mucho Ado With No Follow Through

I pocketed what he gave me, only to find that it was the subscription when I looked at it a week or so later. When I went back a couple of weeks after that I was told I could not exchange the product even though I had not called Microsoft to install it. The salesman told me that I might be able to exchange by contacting Microsoft. After spending 40 minutes or so trying that, it appears that they will not exchange since I did not buy directly from Microsoft. Ugh!
