Sure, external drives are a lot cheaper at this size but I believe this is a great investment especially since XBOX Live provides various games with Gold on a monthly basis. Its an easy swap and well worth it!

Last minute gift for our son, and we got the last one in the store! Fits nicely into his Xbox. Plenty of memory. Also the store employees were very helpful in guiding me to the correct purchase.

since it's the name brand as you would expect it works as advertised, pop it in, and turn on your console and let it do the rest, and 500 gigs leaves plenty of room for your games

I am pleased with this hard drive and would recommend it to anyone who wants to upgrade an Xbox that only has a 4 gigabyte drive.

My grandson needed a larger hard drive to be able to play a game he received for his birthday. This did it for him. The only thing that could be improved is this is only for the Xbox slim or elite, luckily it is the right one, but I felt that it could have been mentioned in the description better.

Was tired of using flash drives for storing games. When I looked at this it seemed like a good solution. Installation was easy and it works great. Very convenient.

Great hard drive. Works well no problems loading or retrieving games or media to or from. Has a ton of room to store a lot. No problem like the generic hard drives.

I originally tried to save some money and buy a cheaper version of the same drive on eBay and the thing died on me (along with all my years of save games and data) within a month. I decided to pony up and buy a real Xbox brand drive and now I couldn't be happier! The drive is fast, quiet and does not run as hot as previous drives I have used. Also BestBuy was cheaper than anywhere else to purchase and was available in store for pickup right near my house so that was a plus! I highly recommend this product for anyone with the Xbox 360 system, tons of space to download all the free games that Xbox hands out each month!

My son has the XBox 360 and several of his new games wouldn't work. Then I got him the "Microsoft - 500GB Media Hard Drive for Xbox 360" and all his games work great now. I bought it in the store, same price as on line, and the salesperson wasn't sure if it would work in his XBox and said I could bring it back if it didn't work, but it is great and he didn't have to wait for it to be shipped to him. This is great for adding storage to the Xboxes that came with only a few gigs out of the box.

Necessary for certain games that my son wanted for his XBOX. He's 11 and installed it himself, so no complaints there! Nice product.

I wasn't aware some games required so much extra memory, although I probably should have guessed.....this is the only way to go.
