I love it! So much better than our old I pad.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got really frustrated with the Ipad. This has the best of both worlds, the PC and the convenience of the Ipad.

LTE-Office nice touch_app store needs work 4 stars
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice device and Office integration is definitely a selling point. The bundled apps are good and a micro SD slot is a plus. This device is easy to learn as there is a lot of user based information online to get a non Windows user up to speed quickly. With LTE it has the right amount of portability and usefulness I was looking for. I opted for a cover (keyboard) and in my opinion that should be included with the device instead of being offered as an accessory . The MS App Store could be better as there is a lot of superfluous offerings mixed in with needed stuff thus making app selection a somewhat tedious affair.

No apps, no soft to be installed.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is OK for checking emails and surfing internet. It is nice you can use the tablet almost same way as the Windows PC. I thought pre installed Office was wonderful but there is huge problem here: Applications!!! As a tablet, you can find very little selection of apps to install, and as a windows PC, most of application would not be installed. Surface 2 seems to me is dinosaurs in tablet business (Like Cadillac in the car business). My iPad and Galaxy tablet are much much versatile.

I do not recommend for anyone!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A year ago, I purchased this Surface 2 with the intention of having a tablet to use during college. About a month ago, my touch screen stopped working due to an update that was installed to my surface. Just a few days ago, a new update was installed that made it work ago. I was so happy, until a new update the very next day made it stop working again. I have gone to an actual Windows store where they were unsure as to why his was happening. I contacted the Microsoft support team but after restarting, resetting and backing up my device, I was back at square one. Since my warranty has expired, Microsoft has told me that the only choice I have is to replace the device and pay a fee of about $300, which I refuse to do. They claim that they are unable to help me further because this is the first instance in which a touch screen has been affected by an update. I have never experienced such dismissal regarding an issue originating from the company. Now, I want to encourage everyone not to buy a Microsoft Surface of any kind. I know this is just one instance, but even before buying one I heard horrible comments. Also, if you or anyone you know has a surface that has experienced a similar issue, please contact Microsoft and let them know. I'm currently waiting for the corporate office to call me. So if you've seen an issue like this, vocalize it so that they can acknowledge when they make a mistake that can cause consumers hundreds of dollars.

Great but not for school
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this after reading reviews saying it is good for school work. however this version does not support java or adobe. You need a tablet with widows 8.1. The surface pro 2 supports it but its like 300 dollars more.. I had to return this and I bought one off of del that works great! for cheaper then the surface 2. If you just want o explore the internet it great but if you need more I would recommend something else.

I like it as a tablet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my husband to replace his aging laptop. It's been a bit of a learning curve since neither of us has used a 2-in-1 like this before. I haven't had issues, but sometimes my husband can't get the keyboard (also purchase at Best Buy) to work. I need to use the Surface more since simple stuff like toggling between tablet and PC mode is a happy accident. It has its quirks, but nothing that a quick Google look up can't fix.

Students Beware!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had nothing but trouble with my brand new surface 2. I'm not going into all the details, yes there is a whole more more going on then what is in this review- believe it or not.... but after my 4 day old tablet crashed and microsoft told me they couldn't do anything about it, and try this restore they had to send me, that also didn't work so then it had to be replaced. So they send me one In exchange. Now it has been over two weeks without a computer. I know my iPad is great, but I am in my last leg of my masters in business administration, and I cannot continue to do my school work on it. I finally get the new replacement surface to replace my brand new one, and Microsoft sent a "new" one that was logged into admin already. On the phone for 3 hours trying it restored to factory setting... Another day of updates... And now I find out that surface tablets that use the RT software (excluding the pros) cannot access educational websites. So the whole point in getting this and it can't go on to my (online) school. Microsoft can't help, but I just got off the phone with Bestbuy and they are Willing to help me. Thank you best buy, I really did not know what I was going to do. I am writing this review, yes to vent a bit, but there is a greater purpose. To forewarn students looking at this for school. It may work one week, just it did in the first couple days, but any change in coding...and it will be gone. It is a very common thing, that the RT software doesn't work with educational websites. The support said for me to call the school and ask them to change the coding for the website so the surface 2 would work. I hope this helps someone, save some of the frustration and anguish I have been through in the three weeks since Christmas.
