I recently bought this tablet for my wife and so far its been great. We use it for videos and surfing the internet. It is very easy to use and the battery last a very long time. The only problem I could point out is the lack of selection in the APP market. It will get better soon.

Overall, the Surface RT is a good tablet computer. Some limitations with apps being available for download (selection), It is slightly heavier than expected. Battery life is good.
The updates did not load automatically. I had to call Microsoft to do a computer-voice assisted registration which was rather tedious. The Office program would not update either (not yet resolved).
The Windows 8 operating system takes up a lot of initial memory. This should be more forthcoming in release info, as you lose almost half of the memory space off the get-go. Will most likely need to delete some prior-installed items to free up space.
But for value and use, it gives a decent product.

Great product! Was everything I was expecting! Easy to use. Great price. Hard to find a case to fit if you are planning on using the stand on the back. Stand is very convenient. Keyboard is a must, if you plan on doing any typing at all.

I looked at a number of tablets and the Surface offered great quality and a number of features for a very reasonable price. I love how lightweight and portable it is. I travel for work and for pleasure and always took my laptop (and charger) and my Kindle (and charger) with me on trips. Now I can just take my tablet! I am still learning all of the features and am very pleased with my tablet and it is easy to use.

This is a great tablet for the price. Especially since you can use a USB drive and the full office suite.

great price for a surface tablet. I like that you can add a keyboard to it and it is still light to carry. very easy to use and can do as much as a laptop can. it would be nice if the RT could install programs like the pro.

Great pc for the price ($199). This tablet is not for a novice computer user. Screen quality is great, light and easy to handle. Setup did take hours to update. I do recommend getting a keyboard for it depending what you are using it for. It is more like a laptop rather than a tablet.

Got this for my senior father who wanted a new laptop. 10 times better alternative as he doesn't really need a PC. He needs a device big enough to type and read, use for emails and basic surfing, AND be able to open and edit Excel and Word files. This thing does it all and much more.

Very nice product. I like the stand, keyboard and mouse much better than my IPads. The Microsoft App Store could use more Apps and a better search feature. I have not found yet a good replacement for ITunes for music or movies.

I bought this for work. It's light weight so it's ideal for me. It's really a great product; it's got word, and the apps are really easy to use.

I like the screen, it's size is very nice, to my personal like. Terrible battery, it consumes the whole battery on standby even if you're not using it. This is as compared to iPad, if you don't use your iPad even for a whole week will not lose more than one or 2%. The surface would lose 40 to 50% throughout the day even without use. Updates are terrible, they stop you from using the tablet and it takes soo much time. Poor keyboard needs improvement as regards it disappearing or appearing. Need to improve Software stability. It keeps crashing multiple times without obvious reasons. I like the Windows 8 in general but again needs improvement as regards stability. I think the App Store will improve by time, but however at this point is very limited.
My other big-time problem is the device is very slow as compared to the iPad. I did a side to side comparison between the surface and the iPad, the surface was very slow at opening webpages. Apps would take a long time to open even if you had them open before.
In general, I think this service has a good opportunity in the future if improvement is done but at this point, it is not so much useful and needs a lot of improvement.
I would not recommend this at this point unless they improve their product. I might recommend it to a person who does not like the iPad (Apple products) and would prefer you another device however, I think android still is very competitive.
I also forgot to say, the flash support is not as advertised, there are a lot of sites that the surface does not support flash on it. Also terrible sound quality.

Bought to use with college work and was nice and easy to use. Great to have Office already installed. Down side, at least one issue, is the cost to add an external keyboard.

Nice Tablet, works fine, like the usb port, but Windows RT is not a real Windows operating system. Found out too late that I can't add Firefox or Chrome browsers and many other apps that the Real Windows 8.1 can do. Have an Asus tablet with the Real Windows & it Rocks!!

Bought this as an alternative to an Ipad because the price was better. My daughter loves it. Easy to use. You must buy the keyboard to use with it. After I bought the tablet, keyboard, and the warrenty, I still paid less than what I would pay for an Ipad. Very happy!!

The Microsoft Surface was the perfect solution for my daughter's homework. I didn't want to have a full operating system that tends to get bogged down, yet, I still wanted her to be able to do research and prepare documents using Microsoft Office. Microsoft Surface fit the bill! And, the price was right.

This product those far has served my needs and I love the size as I looked at the ipad and compared the price was 100 more then the iPad but came with a USB port and larger screen. I also like the keyboard and acts as a projective case for the tablet.

I love the surface and the touch screen attach pad approach. It is easy to use and the screen is big enough for my 51 year old eyes. The touch screen is responsive but not 2 touchy.

I got this tablet to use at home and at work. It works really well with wi fi. The battery life is very good. I'm still figuring out how to use it though. Its not as easy to use as an iPad; but it does take a usb port which is great for the kind of work that I do.

I use my Surface for school and business and it works great because of the light weight and versatility it brings to the table. The only problem is it has a few bugs that still needs to be worked out which the Surface 2 should be able to fix. I like it way better that my iPad.
