I use it mostly for work for Excel and Word docs. I don't use the apps so this works great for me. When I am on the go, this is so light that I don't need my laptop. I did buy the type cover keyboard.

I bought the first version Surface during Black Friday at an amazing price. It has runs on Windows 8 and has the full version of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; not the trial version!!! I love it!!!

DOCUMENTATION DOES NOT EXPLAIN ANYTHING TO USER SUCH AS ON/OFF BUTTON ACTIVATION. WINDOWS 8/8.1 EASILY LEARNED ON THIS TABLET.

We bought this for my mother for Christmas. She is retiring this year and we wanted to get her setup on technology so she can chat with friends and family on Facebook, play games, Skype, email and just search the internet for stories and news. So far, she loves her new technology gadget. She will not be using the Microsoft office suite. We did not realize this already came on it pre-installed. For now, this seems to be a great purchase for a retiree with very limited technology skills. She catching on and learning more everyday on how to use her new tablet

Great note taker but sound quality is awful. If you are going to use this for basic browsing and note taking, feel free, but high def movies and or music and you will be disappointed.

I just opened my surface tablet last night. The charger fits and snaps snuggly into place but if you aren't experienced with this type of charger it can be a little frustrating. I'm still going through the setup which was relatively straight forward, however, the trial virus protection that comes with and is issued via email from Best Buy does not install properly due to the app is not recognized. I've called the Geek Squad and I have my appointment today so I'm only giving 3.5 rating for now.

I love the idea of being able to travel with the tablet and not a fulll Pc. I can do everything on it. Not a fan of Windows8

Got this for Christmas and I totally love it. It is easy to set up and is really user friendly. Also great for xbox users for games and music. I love using tablet to upload and edit my pictures too.

I bought the Surface RT for my daughter. Great for a college student who doesn't want to carry a laptop along with everything else to class. Happy I made the purchase.

This is a nice sized tablet for home and school. I'm glad I was able to get the type cover keyboard to go with it, as well.

Great for work and play. Love that it comes with office. Kickstand a keyboard cover make it better than a typical slate. Plus a full size USB and micro SD slot. A good tablet for almost everything.

I have enjoyed using this product. The size is good although I did have a hard time finding it when it first went on sale.

perfect mini computer that allows me to do my work as I am always on the go so when I get back to desktop at end of day I'm already caught up!!

I bought this on Black Friday and for under $200 it was an extremely nice bargain for a surprisingly powerful tablet. It is an extremely solid piece of hardware. Perhaps a bit too heavy for some but I prefer the feeling of a strong product. the apps and the office software was easy to install and work with. the flexibility of adding flash storage and sd storage is a nice touch. I also like the ability to sync between my Windows phone, my windows 8 laptop, and my new Surface tablet.

Got this for my child for Christmas, very easy for him to navigate and use. Will be a great tool for school.
