Replaced my original ipad with this product, using the money I recieved from the exchange to help the funding. I enjoy having "coffee table" information at my finger tips when I am not at work (mostly for personal use). As an administrator who manages a large number of people and amount of business, it is a definate plus that this product comes with a free version of office, as is affords me the opportunity to open documents when needed via my corporate webmail account (I would rarely need to bring my laptop home from the office now. Also, being able to plug into a Great product for the price!

I was very happy with the surface, it does everything I want it to do. I don't try to use it as a laptop or anything because it is not a laptop! So if your trying to buy this thinking it will be a laptop your wrong. I primarily use it to surf the web, watch videos, catch up on the news and what not as I walk around the house and school. Its like a phone more or less but with a lot larger screen. I like that it has full versions of Microsoft word and everything on it so I can take it to school and then with the type cover take notes or what have you. What lead me to purchase this was the way Microsoft is having all of their Microsoft products sync and talk with each other and I love that idea so I have windows 8 on my PC, the RT surface table, a windows phone and an xbox and everything is just interconnected and I love it. All my emails my planners and what not are connected and when I update one its added to all my devices so I can just keep going. The RT tablet looks beautiful and does all the functions I need it to do and im happy. I don't have unrealistic expectations of what it can and cannot do I use it mostly as a media device that's mobile and that I can walk around the house and other Wi-Fi hot spots and consume media till my brain rots so I am happy.

Great image quality, great for travel, easy to use. I really like having MS Office suite available if I need it. Apps may still be limited but most of the big ones are available. Light-weight. Intuitive for those with windows PC background. kickstand is so useful. And like ability to add micro SD. windows mail is not stellar, but cannot use google chrome for my gmail.

I have had the Surface for well over a year and it has continued to amaze me by all that it can do as a tablet. Many are correct in that it cannot download software like a laptop or desktop, but as a tablet it excels. I have used it for both work while providing power point presentations and school with Microsoft word. Windows 8, the touch screen and USB port are also great. I am in the military and I can use my CAC reader in the USB port! I paid $500 when it first came out and then purchased two more during the last Black Friday at $200 each. Microsoft office alone costs over $100. It's a great buy.

This product is pretty easy to use as far as knowing how to use all the options. The only down side is that the touch screen sometimes doesn't respond and it can be very frustrating. I also like the USB port which the ipad doesn't have- this means I can transfer stuff from my computer to the surface and take it with me when I travel.

As a college student it is a great tool. I can read a PDF book while typing a document on the same screen. It contains full Microsoft office and a USB port making the usability of this machine great. The multitasking abilities are outstanding. Does not lag, and the battery life is exceptional.

This is the first time I've written a review. I've bought and returned several tablets because for one reason or another they just didn't do what I needed. I do a lot of online classes and like to watch the videos and take notes at the same time. This is the first tablet I've found that gives me that capability. It's lightweight and the keyboard is fantastic (I got the type). I've been a secretary for a long time, and the feel of the touch keyboard just didn't do it for me. This is my first exposure to Windows 8, so the jury is still out on that! If you want a tablet that really acts like a computer, I recommend this one.

I really like the convenience of this product. I can use it as a tablet when I want to, or as a laptop. This is a whole new operating system to learn and I'm still learning it. (I would like to take a class or watch a how-to video to help me become more comfortable with it.) I loved the price and am slowly adjusting to the fact that it's both a tablet and/or a laptop.

A solid and cheaper alternative to the Surface Pro for school. I just need the basics: Internet Explorer, MS Office, growing app store, awesome battery life, light and compact. There is a bit of learning curve to the OS though. But give it a chance and keep an open mind and you will pick it up in no time.

It is light enough to use most any place, including reading in bed and while riding a stationery bike. The display screen is very clear and it takes little time to move from one tast to the next. Since I am not that familiar with Windows 8, I am having some problems learning to do some of the commands I am familiar with in Windows 7. I love the touch screen.

This was just what I was looking for to bridge the gap between using my smart phone and my laptop when I am on the go. It is easy to set up and I got the keyboard to go along with it. I am pleased with the screen size, light weight. I would recommend this product if you are looking for a bigger screen and having the choice of tablet or keyboard. My con would be its a little pricey for the amount of ram memory

    Great Value Tablet

Overall I am very happy with this tablet. I bought it for a great price on Black Friday, so it was been great value for the money for basic everyday use. It is lightweight, the screen is responsive, and the built in stand makes using it very convenient. The Windows OS does take some getting used to, and isn't as intuitive as other options out there, but it's easy enough to figure out if you give it a little time. The tablet has no trouble streaming in HD (we have 12mbps internet). Apps for Netflix and Hulu are great, and we can use the browser to stream from Amazon Instant with no trouble. Apps are limited, however we can use the browser to access most any service that doesn't offer an app. The ability to switch to the desktop and use a keyboard is also very convenient when I don't want to use the touch screen, or can't due to a webpage that isn't tablet friendly. The touch screen is very responsive and the display, while not retina quality, is more than sufficient. The few down sides I have encountered is the load time on webpages can be a bit slow. It seems that it doesn't allow navigation on the page until it is fully loaded, which can get a bit frustrating. Also, I wish the matching keyboard weren't so expensive - I got such a great deal on the tablet that buying the keyboard is almost the same price. I got a Microsoft bluetooth keyboard and mouse and they work great, but they aren't portable like the Surface cover. Overall I would definitely recommend this tablet.

Now that Microsoft offers the new type cover keyboard for the Surface it makes it the perfect intermediate device between a tablet and a laptop. The Office applications installed on the Surface along with the new keyboard make it easy to work on projects.

The Surface RT is a nearly perfect addition to household computing. It is lightweight but powerful and uses all the productivity software of the Microsoft Office suite. The built in USB port make file transfers easy and allows the use of a mouse. Finally, Flash is supported so there are more choices for streaming media than other tablets may offer. The RT is a base level model so it is lower powered than the Pro models but it it an affordable way to add another computing device to the household.

The Surface Tablet/ PC is very quick. The Touch Screen is easily maneuverable in all directions once you learn how to use it. There are Apps. for Instructions if you need assistance. This helps greatly. At the beginning there is a Tutorial to help you maneuver around. There is a Voice Narrator that when turned on helps you learn the system easily. Another great plus is that there is long battery life before recharging. The Surface/ Tablet is great because it is a computer and a tablet in one. I also like it because it has a split/ dual screen. Also the Apps. have preview screens which give you a small "intro." on the subject matter. You get "instant info." on the Apps. . . example: the weather.

The reason I bought the Surface Tablet, is that there is a usb port, and able to save to a flash drive, besides just to the tablet itself. it is very light and easy to carry around. My problem is that I have not been able to access the internet at home. For some reason my tablet is not compatible to the router I have at the house for WiFI. I have been able to access the internet at other places so far. I am just starting to use the tablet, It is going to be used for both personal and business.

I happened to get lucky on the Black Friday shopping week and with my "My Best Buy Points" was able to pick up the surface for $150. So to start off the price was awesome. This is my first tablet and I could not be happier. My surface's primary use is for school, which it is perfect for. It's easy to take with me everywhere I go and with Office it makes doing my assignments that much easier. The expandable memory and the full size USB slot are also nice touches. Overall this is a great product and is great in any application weather it be work or play!

This is more than a tablet. It is pc at the same time, and easily switch back and forth. The built in stand made the third party stand unnecessary. The USB interface adds a lot of convenience. The not so good part is the limited app titles. Currently the apps that I use the most, such as major bank apps, are simply not available for Windows tablet, so I have to switch to pc and use web site instead. Another thing that not so good is that the matching keyboard for the model costs to high.
