    When I purchased my surface, it had windows 8.0. I had some difficulty getting around the system (going back a screen etc.). The windows store had a free update to Windows 8.1 RT which I downloaded and installed. I am coming from Windows 7 so there is still a little learning curve, but the 8.1 upgrade took care of most of my concerns. All in all I am very happy with the surface. It connected automatically with my network, wireless printer and other devices. So far it does everything I wanted it to do.

    Soon after I purchased this tablet, it froze a couple of times, and kept notifying me that I needed to update the same updates over and over again even after I have installed it. Other than that, I really enjoy using this tablet on a daily basis. It's great for school use being with the fact that it comes with ms office, PowerPoint and excel. Great buy.

    I bought this as a gift for my 8 year old daughter to allow her access to kiddie sites. Unfortunately she's unable to play on jumpstart.com due to the inability to run unity webplayer 3D. Playing the xbox games are what she loves most, easy access to them gives her joy for hours.

    The surface is very convenient but still has room for improvement. Some applications like dropbox cannot be used to its fullest potential. Users may view their files but cannot edit directly. As a result, I had to transfer all my files over to Skydive. Skydive is similar to dropbox but it does not have as many opportunities to earn extra storage space.

    The Surface is coated with some sort of thin black paper and it started coming off on mine. I took it back to the store and they said there was nothing I could do with the $100 insurance I bought for it since the tablet actually still works. They pretty much said I would have to break the screen or something and hope they replace it.

    This Surface is good to use but bit slow on screen touch functionality and can't compare with apple products in this aspect. Same time, it took more than half of 32GB space for it's system files and Apps. I deleted few un wanted apps and left with around 15GB space. The touch funcations will be bit slow when we use virtual key baord in the surface.
