When I first started using my Surface, I was disappointed in the device and the features. After running all updates, including Windows 8.1, it won me over. I love having Windows and Office in a tablet. I can do all of the things I would do with a reader or tablet and can also upscale to the real productivity of a computer on this one device.

Its alright. I regret not going with the pro with full Windows 8. I think for the price it should come with the full version. Runs kind of slow sometimes but I guess it gets the job done.

We wanted a tablet that would double as a laptop and the Surface is perfect. So much better than the ipad.

My daughters were required to each have a computer to bring to school everyday. I have 3 daughters and I was faced with buying three computers. This computer had a great price and affordable without me having to spend 1000's of dollars.

So far, everything is going well. It has taken a few times to get everything set up and using google for some help on some things too. The battery does not last very long on it though.

I purchased these for my kids for Christmas. I don't think they have put them down yet. They are using them for everything. Hopefully when school is back in session, they will be using them for that, as that is why they were purchased! I have not heard them complain about anything pertaining to their tablets. Thy range in age from 20-14.

I got this for my son to type reports, edit PowerPoint, check email and also play limited amounts of games. So far it works fine for all those things. And the screen image is really sharp. Much better than the Samsung laptop we have.

So far I'm perfectly happy w/ my choice. Battery life is OK. Size, weight and functionality is OK. the only shortcoming might be on the user side, but I'm coming around. Oh and I LOVE the USB drive for my wireless mouse (which I've used on three different devices today).

Bought this for my daughter but ended up returning. No problems at all just bought it on a whim & decided wanted to have something with more capabilities, more memory & downloading ability. Planning on buying a small laptop instead.

I bought it primary so that I can use internet explorer on it and access the real estate MLX sight. Although it is not as "smooth" as I am used with my apple products it works.

This is a quality lower priced alternative to an IPad. It meets my primary wants for a table. That is web access, handling emails, working with Word, and working Excel documents. Some of the apps are a little buggy. The more I use the more I like the new windows.

I bought this for my teenage daughter. It took some time to get it setup but was fairly easy to figure out. It is quiet a bit different than an iPad. If you are looking for the functionality of a laptop with the portability of a tablet this is the one for you.

"Narrator" surfaced without warning and shut down everything else except the first skin, so I was stick on a research trip abroad without a major tool for research or to make travel arrangements. Just a very expensive clock. When I finally found a Geek Squad in London, even they had trouble getting rid of it. I lost at least two research days and I am still angry. If you buy a Surface, have Narrator removed before you exit the store. I will probably return the tablet when I come back to the States because of the I'll effect it has had on this important and expensive venture. Issue 2: I am new to tablets; I have worked with larger computers for many decades. So I kept looking for an X to get rid of a screen, in order to return to what I was doing before. Instead, I just could not escape from places like Amazon. I'd end up stuck there until I'd accidentally find a way out until I hiked back to Geek Squad and they showed me how one half of the screen worked. (They didn't know about the one that pulls down from the top and is happier with more than one finger doing the stroke.) I needed to have a tutorial or a person show me how to pull up additional screens from the top and bottom of the notebook before I left the store. It isn't easy even when you know the trick. Without a clue, one is at a standstill. 3. This doesn't happen often but is annoying when it does. Sometimes I've been flipped out of the draft I am writing for no apparent reason and have to find my way back. This seems to happen when my left hand is near the lower left part of the screen, at the edge. 4. Usually I can't find a back arrow. It would be useful to have one ever present. 5. Next, IBM type word processors have always allowed me to delete forward or backwards. Why adapt this annoying Mac feature of having to peg forward to the error and then have to back up to erase? 6. Finally, sometimes the screen is too responsive, charging off at just an involuntary light touch. Other times, such as when I'm trying to erase a message, I can bang on it many times without getting the desired result. Oh, one more thing--how about a little warning when the power is running low instead of abruptly shutting down?
