Easy set up! Item as described and works as it should! Enough outlets to connect 2 monitors, flash drive and wired keyboard. Plus 2 front usb-c for whatever needed.

Like the first Surface dock, it works well. It's solid and the USB-C ports are nice update. Of course, you're probably need adapters unless your monitor(s) has a (video-enabled) usb-c connection. Note, this is a proprietary dock and only works with compatible MS Surface products.

This the best dock I could have purchased to setup my home office. Just plug it in and your Surface is ready to go. Worth the $$. Highly recommend.

I purchased a cheaper generic brand, but it wasn't up to the task. This purchase includes the power supply, which gives me a spare power supply when traveling.

It works well. In general, it is a lot better to just use a thunderbolt 4 dock and avoid using the proprietary connector. Also, the power brick is way too large.

Priced at $300 and dose not even have proper HDMI outputs. You need to buy separate USB-C to HDMI dongles for a docking station. What a joke. And because the surface laptop studio 2 only supports this weird port for charging and docking this is the only option. No USB-C charging of the surface studio laptop 2 will work.

Like MacBooks, modern Surface devices have only a few ports, and depending on the age and model of your device you may find yourself lacking a USB-C connection even if your device is pretty new. It seems docks and dongles are the future until everything switches to USB-C. The Surface Dock 2 is a premium product that appeals to power users with the need for the best Microsoft-branded accessories in the Surface lineup. The Dock 2 goes "all in" on USB-C, replacing the front USB-A ports and the rear Mini DisplayPorts of the previous Dock with USB-C. The Dock 2 also includes a higher-wattage power brick to supply even the most the power-hungry Surface Book devices. The Dock 2 is a "one cable" solution using the Surface Connector port, allowing you to easily attach or detach your Surface device and leave everything else plugged into the Dock itself. The cable on the Dock 2 is longer than the previous Dock, allowing you more freedom in placement on your desk. The Dock 2 still has the separate power brick and cabling that connects to a power outlet. I encourage you to take stock of the main ports you're looking for from the Dock 2, especially compared to the Dock "1" -- the Dock 2 has 4 USB-C ports and no DisplayPort or HDMI connections. If you're looking to connect a monitor, as I suspect nearly everyone shopping this device will, you'll need a monitor with a USB-C connection or a dongle/cable that converts USB-C to DisplayPort or HDMI (or whatever your monitor uses). While these dongles/cables are readily available and relatively affordable, it's yet another purchase you have to make if your monitor isn't the latest and greatest. Only the Dock 2's rear USB-C ports are display-compatible, but with the right adapter I was able to drive a 4k monitor with no issues. Depending on your Surface model you can drive multiple 4k displays at 60 or 30 hertz refresh rates. Overall, this is a premium device and a true one-cable solution for connecting most modern Surface devices. I hesitated on rating this 4 or 5 stars, but ultimately went with 5 stars because the Dock 2 does what it's supposed to do and does it very well. It's all-in on USB-C and you need to be aware of your exact port needs before purchase, as well as the capabilities of your specific Surface device (only the latest and greatest can power multiple 4k monitors at a full 60hz refresh rate). If your needs are met by what the Dock 2 offers I think you'll be pleased. I've had no major issues with it since purchase and really appreciate how it streamlines my desk area. The Dock 2 commands a premium price and I think it's really best fitted to power users with high-spec Surface devices. Casual users may be much happier with a more affordable USB-C dongle or dock if their Surface device has a USB-C port already; otherwise, users of older and/or less-powerful Surface devices might want to check out the original Surface Dock, especially if they already have a monitor that uses DisplayPort. Folks with HDMI-based monitors will need an adapter regardless of which Surface Dock model they use.

Overall very pleased. I needed it for work-at-home. I had to purchase USB-C to HDMi adapters. It has 6 ports - Two front-facing USB-C ports - Two rear-facing USB-C (gen 2) ports - Two rear-facing USB-A ports I went with the 2 instead of the one because it has better support for the monitors. I use 2 - 27 inch QHD monitors and there is no flickering. My coworkers who have the 1st dock have issues with video. It is compact enough that I can take it with me for travel. I did tkink it was a bit expensive for what you get.

Got it for work and it work perfectly. I run my wired headset and monitor from the dock and I haven't had any connections problem. Has alot of update ports and have legacy ports aswells. I would recommend if it wasn't so pricey but I had some extra cash burning a hole and wanted to us all my ports on my Surface.

A little bigger than previous models, I like to travel with my dock so the new one is more cumbersome. But this size allows for two additional ports (USBC) for peripheral connectivity, which is great. The move to USBC for monitors is fantastic.

This is a great docking solution if you are using a Microsoft Surface. I have approx 30 deployed in a all surface environment. The dock 2 does NOT seem to have the issues of the original. I had firmware update issues with them at times. I do prefer the usb c over display port. NOTE: In my experience do NOT mix the dock one with dock 2, meaning if a user has a Dock at the office and one at home - have them the same. I have had a lot of issues, It is hard to get users to do anything, but I believe the problem is simply being put to sleep and waking up on a different dock with different drivers. A reboot of the laptop resolves the issue, but cannot seem to get the users to shut down. On the downside these are pricey- the first generation got really affordable, but the gen 2 don't seem to drop in price.

This is a very good docking station, but it has USB-C outputs for monitors instead of traditional HDMI or DisplayPort outputs. Display Output won't work correctly with passive USB-C to HDMI cables and active USB-C to HDMI cables are expensive. If your monitor has DisplayPort inputs, using USB-C to DisplayPort cables can save you a decent amount of money, as the standards are more closely related. I like the number of USB-C ports on the docking station and I like the magnetic Surface connector for its durability, so I can justify the cost of this docking station, even if it isn't the best value.

I knew I needed to drive two 4k monitors, and hoped this would handle it... this little hub does it all. The two monitors work flawlessly, and the wired ethernet, two other USB ports, audio, and 4 USB-C connections have me as wired as I dare to be. This is an expensive hub, but absolutely priceless in my eyes. It has all the ports I need, and then some. The 4 USB-C ports are very useful. Currently running both my 4k monitors flawlessly, as well as a wired keyboard and mouse, audio (separate audio jack), 4k webcam and microphone with no issues whatsoever. Everything just works. Highly recommended.

Connected my 4k monitor and all peripherals with ease. It's nice having one cable to manage everything on my SB3 as TB3 is unavailable so this proprietary interface was the next best thing. Does everything I need it to do, and can be available with some discounts even though it was only recently released. Highly recommended for anyone who is going to be at a multi-monitor desk with a SB3. For SB2, I also recommend this because it will deliver 95w to the SurfaceConnect port, compared to 60w from the previous dock. For other Surface devices, it is possible the first generation meets your needs, especially if you do not have many USB-C devices to plug in.

This dock is really nice and works really well. I still don't know why the heck it is so expensive but it does work really well. I have 7 different surface devices in my house and it works well with all of them. I really like that it charges your surface device while it is docked but i am just not sure it really needs to be this expensive. I personally think if microsoft out this around 175 they would sell more of them and make more money on them being more popular.
