The laptop is very light and easy to use. The touch screen feels natural and switching between the mouse pad and the touch screen is very intuitive. Battery life has been very good for casual use. I have yet to see what it like under heavy use. I use it primarily for email and web surfing. I considered the Apple Air but the Surface's touch screen and screen resolution sold me. I got the base model, but the performance has been great. I have yet to use the external mouse so I can't say much about it except I have not needed it yet.

Christmas present for my son who is a senior in HS and looking at colleges. This will replace his 4 year old basic laptop. He has downloaded Steam and another streaming game app on the surface. Not a gaming laptop, but he says it works fine. I sat down with it and was impressed with the design. It feels solid. The screen looks amazing and is a touch screen. Came with Arc touch mouse and I like it a lot. When the Arc mouse is flat it is off and when you bend/curve it it turns on. I am a fan of the keyboard as it is like my SP3 keyboard with alcantara fabric on it instead of a hard plastic. Amazing it is so thin,light and well built. First thing I asked him to do was upgrade to Windows 10 as it is free until the end of the year. Only problem, Now my daughter wants a surface laptop.

great for portability, the wireless mouse is nice added incentive . the added features like face recognition and cortana make it seamless. the microsoft edge keeps teaching you on tips and trips . just overall great machine and its very very light , sleek and thin

This is by far one of Microsoft's best products. The design is sleek and stylish. Very thin and very easy to travel with. Computer operates at fast speeds and I am very pleased with performance. Would definitely recommend!

I bought this because I needed a smaller laptop to do work on and carry around and it was perfect for that job. The laptop is quick thanks to the SSD but the memory limits how much it can do. For me though, it was more than enough to do work or to use it to watch Netflix while I worked on my other laptop. The mouse was very cool and it being Bluetooth helps since the laptop does not have many ports. The screen looks incredible and the feel of the laptop is great. The keyboard felt good to use and windows worked perfectly on it. Overall, I am satisfied with the laptop but if you are not picky about look or anything else, you can definitely get something cheaper that will get the job done.

bought as a replacement netbook basically. This is much larger and lighter than expected. Works great, is extrememly fast and bright. Battery life is also a bit better than my old netbook, which is surprising.

Computer looks, feels, and performs very nicely. The only negative thing I can say about it, is that it should have an SD slot similar to the surface pro line. Honestly I would prefer that over the touch screen.

Everything it is advertised to be. Sound is full and rich for music play. Lightweight and easy to handle and carry. Extended battery life is the number one feature for me.

It is super light weight, runs great! I love the new version of windows. The mouse works great and is very comfortable in your hand. This is a very user friendly laptop that can do SO MANY more things!!

Got a great deal on the surface laptop and have been nothing but happy with it. Had originally considered switching to a Chromebook for the speed and simplicity, but was convinced to stick with Windows for the time being as I was still in college at the time and needed office. Overall, getting widows 10S on this device has been a fantastic alternative to a Chromebook while still getting the best of windows. Keep in mind 10S isn't for everyone, and if you're planning to upgrade to 10 pro straight out of the box, you should probably consider another device with more RAM and perhaps an i7 instead of the i5 in this. It runs great on 10S, but I can see it struggling if you loaded a lot of software and programs running in the background.

Purchased primarily because BB was offering a steep discount-$225 off. This is an i5, 4GBRAM and 128SSD. I use this as my field laptop so large storage is not an issue. It does run Win10 surprisingly well on 4GB. It's best attribute is the beautiful screen (the best I've seen in the $700-800 range. Keyboard is comfortable and the trackpad is as good as a Mac's. Lacks ports but an inexpensive hub solved that problem. Win10S is a joke so I was happy they offered a free upgrade to Win 10 Pro. I took advantage of that right away. It's well made with quality materials. You just pay a premium for that. Hopefully it proves to be as durable as it is beautiful.

Setup was easy. Size is great and it is light weight. High quality screen. Fast startup.

I bought this laptop for my sister to use for taking some online classes. At first I wasn't sure about getting the version with only 4GB of memory although I found a YouTube video where someone was comparing the performance of the 4GB and 8GB versions. They said the 4GB version was fine for using Office apps and Web browsing and that's been my sisters experience too. The Surface team build exceptional hardware and this laptop also comes with a free upgrade to Windows 10 Pro for those that do not want to use Windows 10 S. The key difference is Windows 10 Pro can install any Windows software you might have while Windows 10 S can only install software from the Microsoft / Windows Store.

Excellent computer and touch. The back of the screen has a magnet so it holds the Surface Stylus. It is fast and light. The touch screen is a great addition that facilitates interaction with the computer and reduces the stress of having to do everything with the touchpad. Highly recommended. Although it has 4GB of RAM, I never noticed that impacting speed. After a year I sold it on eBay and its condition was practically like new. Recommendation, always use it with clean hands to avoid dirtying the part where the hands rest.

I had been using Microsoft surface tablets for years, but I decided I wanted to switch to using a regular laptop. The surface laptop was the perfect choice!

I had a MacPro and eventually bought myself a Surface Laptop because I thought it was better and I was not wrong. This laptop is super easy to use, has more options than the MacPro, and is really light.

Walked into the store today to pick out a laptop for my wife. Salesman convinced us to buy this one. Got it home and started reading about it, and the first thing I learned is that this comes with Windows 10 S. If you're not familiar with this, it restricts you to using software from Microsoft's store. So if you use open-source apps like Thunderbird, Firefox, LibreOffice, etc., or even apps vendors don't sell through the store, you're almost out of luck. "Almost" because apparently you can upgrade to Windows 10 Pro for free until the end of the year. Still, I really don't like the idea of having to replace the OS of a brand new computer before even using it. Buyer beware. I may have more comments as we have more experience with the machine.

It's by far the best Laptop I've ever owned. It; is vert compact, and slim. I also love the mouse that came with the bundle.
