This color is perfect for me! The touch screen is a plus, and the system rums smoothly! I love this lightweight laptop and happy to carry it around!

My experience comes as a long time MacBook user. I went through my college years using my HP Envy x360 15-inch. I always had a PC and a MacBook. I used my MacBook as my main machine because the battery was so good. However, work requires me to use Windows so I definitely needed something to get the through the day. The time came to replace my HP this year as the battery and processor were aging rapidly. I was in between another HP Envy which got me through so many years and an XPS. I even considered the Samsung Galaxy Book.
But when Microsoft launched the Surface Laptop 13-inch in purple, I had to get it. The color is BEAUTIFUL and the design is FLAWLESS. I will say it looks more blue-ish than a purple color. It looks just like my MacBook Air and the battery is just as good. I can easily get through an entire day of work (meetings, Microsoft Suite, data processing) without needing to charge it until the next day. I am loving the Copilot function and have found myself using this very frequently.
I am not someone who will be hung up on the 60hz display or the brightness nits. It works just as good for me and I am loving it! I compared it to the 13.8-inch laptop but they don't make a violet one! I am also hoping they make cases for this 13-inch laptop as I cannot find one on Amazon. If Microsoft makes another version of this with better refresh rate and screen quality (OLED, peak brightness nit), I will definitely upgrade. But for now, I am content.

TLDR: A lightweight, premium feeling laptop that offers impressive battery life. While not the most powerful, it has enough for nearly any day-to-day task.
CONNECTIVITY
1 x USB-A
2 x USB-C (Thunderbolt 4 with Display Out)
1 x Headphone
KEY SPECS
8C / 8T ARM Processor
16GB RAM
512GB nVME
PROS
Exceptionally Lightweight
Excellent Battery Life
Crisp / Clear Display
CONS
ARM Processor is new, and not all apps supported
SSD and RAM are not replaceable
Wish it was a 2-in-1
USE
The Surface Laptop has plenty of resources to support nearly any day-to-day task. The Snapdragon processor is extremely energy efficient, far better than any Intel or AMD processor I’ve used to date. Snapdragon has done an excellent job at managing power consumption. Microsoft claims up to 16hrs of battery life while web browsing, I’ve reached 14 without much effort.
The Surface comes with 16GB of RAM. Plenty for almost any multi-tasking needs. Teams calls, spreadsheets, presentations, even multiple browser tabs open with all the above fail to slow the Surface.
The display is crisp and clear. I’ve used other Surface laptops in the past and have always admired their displays. This laptop is no different. The glossy touchscreen does attract fingerprints, but I can’t fault the display’s color and sharpness. Sharper than many other laptops at this size, with this resolution. I didn’t see the pixel density in the specs, but it must be high as you can’t make them out in text or images.
CONS
The new ARM Snapdragon processors, while energy efficient, are unique. There are still some apps that don’t handle the ARM architecture correctly. Those apps are getting fewer and farther between, but you occasionally run into some. For example, the freeware I used to test the CPU and RAM requires a different installer than an x86 or x84 installer.
For the most part, Windows will “sandbox” most software allowing support using an x86 or x64 app to run on an ARM processor. But, like I said, there are still some apps that don’t play correctly with ARM and Windows together. I wouldn’t consider it a deal breaker, but if you have a specific application that absolutely must use, I would definitely check compatibility.
The RAM and SSD are not user replaceable. I hate how manufacturers are moving on to this trend. Especially, the SSD. Its one of the most frequently used and/or failure-prone parts in any computer system. The ability to replace this part would be awesome. Not so anymore. Nor can you swap it out if you run out of storage and need to expand.
FINAL THOUGHTS
The Surface makes a nice day-to-day laptop for all but the most power users. It is lightweight, has a pixel dense screen, and very good fit and finish. Would I buy this if I were a video or photo editor? No. There isn’t enough processing power. However, for nearly 95% or more of the daily tasks, you would be hard to find a better, lighter entry. Not to mention, because it’s a Microsoft branded product, it includes the full Office suite as well.

This laptop has been by my side for about a week now and has really impressed. Its compact design and feature packed build is exactly what I have been needing to improve efficiency and productivity in my day to day. First, its touchscreen is responsive and really is a nice touch when browsing the web or navigating other programs. Its specs are what you would expect too. It has 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, which is perfect for the bed or couch laptop. The battery is noted to have 23 hours of life too, which exceeded my expectations! This not meant to be a powerhouse in terms of graphics or storage but rather to have for day to day use. Ports include 2 USB C and one normal USB which is nice too as it reduces the thickness of the laptop itself. Its stock with copilot too which is a nice touch, I have noticed this becoming more prevalent with newer laptops, AI is the way of the future. The build of this laptop is heavier than I had imagined for a 13" laptop... this tells me its actually built pretty well. Another thing that surprised me was the startup timing... it was very quick.
Even though this is not a gaming or high performing laptop I can honestly say that if you are looking for a couch/bed laptop that has everything you need then this is a great choice. It has sufficient computing power and bright and vivid screen all while encased in a sturdy, yet stylish exterior shell.

Your Next Favorite Travel Buddy!

I’ve been using the 13” Microsoft Surface Laptop for about a week, and I’m genuinely impressed with what this little machine delivers.
First off, the build quality is top-notch. Right out of the box, the craftsmanship stands out. This is a gorgeous little laptop made from top-tier aluminum. The build quality feels premium from top to bottom. There’s no creaking, flexing, or wobbling; everything is tight and solid. The hinge is incredibly smooth and stable, opening and closing without any side-to-side play. One of my favorite design features is the rounded bottom; it’s comfortable on the lap and paired with squared-off top edges that not only look sharp but make opening the lid a breeze. It's compact, yet it has just enough weight to feel durable and substantial, which adds to the overall top-tier aesthetic.
At 13", it’s the ideal travel or commuter laptop, compact enough to slide into any backpack, yet powerful enough to handle serious multitasking. Don’t let the small size fool you; this machine packs a serious punch. With 16GB of RAM and a Snapdragon X Plus processor, the Surface Laptop flies through daily tasks. From document editing to web browsing, streaming, and even light creative workloads, it handles everything smoothly. I loaded it up with multiple tabs and apps, trying to push it to the edge, but I couldn’t get it to slow down. For a machine this size, that’s seriously impressive. Boot-up is lightning fast, and everything runs smoothly.
Storage is generous with 512GB of UFS space, more than enough for documents, media, and travel needs. The display is vibrant and crisp with 2K clarity, and the speakers are surprisingly full and loud for a machine this size and is great for streaming music or movies.
Port selection includes 2 USB-C (Thunderbolt 4), 1 USB-A, and a headphone jack. The USB-C ports support high-speed data transfer and external displays via a docking station, making this machine extremely versatile when you’re back at your desk. There’s no Ethernet port, but that’s expected in an ultra-portable device. Battery life has been excellent, nearly a full day of use, and it charges back up quickly.
One standout feature is Copilot+, Microsoft’s built-in AI assistant. It’s extremely helpful for drafting emails, writing documents, or even brainstorming. It’s like having a smart assistant baked right into the system, and it enhances productivity without being intrusive.
The trackpad is smooth and responsive, and overall, I’ve had zero usability issues.
Final Verdict: If you’re looking for a lightweight, powerful, and beautifully crafted laptop for daily productivity, travel, or school, this Surface Laptop punches well above its size. It’s not a gaming machine, but that’s not what it’s made for. It’s a high-performance, minimalistic laptop that delivers.
Highly recommended.

My Microsoft Surface 13 inch Copilot laptop came in a very nice box, and upon opening it, I was a little surprised that as small as it is, it has some weight to it – in a good way. Just under 3 pounds. It has an all metal body that feels very premium and sturdy, and the blue(ish) tint is nice to look at and better than standard metal/grey, in my opinion. This model comes with a 13 inch touchscreen with a pretty standard resolution of 1920 x 1280 pixels and unfortunately, on a 60Hz refresh rate. At 400 nits of brightness max, it’s good enough for indoor use and shaded use outdoors, though in sunlight it’s a bit harder to see. The anti-reflective claim is reasonable, though I still see some level of reflections on it. It’s not a great display, but it’s a good display, for all basic uses. There are 13.8 and 15 inch versions of this laptop with higher spec displays on them, though.
First thing of course is make sure you take the time to run through the setup properly and allow the Surface to do all updates during the setup. I will have to say though, this took a LONG time, even with fast wifi and a good connection to the laptop. Longer than any other setup I’ve done. So make sure you have plenty of time to devote to the initial process the first time you power on the laptop. The power button is in the upper-right corner, and will also double as your fingerprint sensor for logging in once you set that up. There is no webcam log-in function unfortunately, though the cam is 1080p it just doesn’t allow for this.
Once set up, the keyboard feels nice and solid and does not feel cheap. There’s a nice give to the keys. There is a backlight for the keys should you need them. You have again, a key for power and fingerprint access, and a dedicated key for Microsoft Copilot. The trackpad is standard with no haptics, but all of the basic gesture controls you need, and feels solid. Wifi 7th gen connected to my Wifi with no issues and I tested out some wireless earbuds using the Bluetooth 5.4 and there haven’t been any connections issues so far. The built-in speakers are ok for general use; no speaker grills but under the keyboard it seems, and while you won’t be throwing parties with them, the sound if fine to me. There are dual microphones and when tested during a video call, the other person said they could tell I was on a laptop but the sound wasn’t bad. In terms of ports, there are 2 ea USB-C 3.2 ports that can be used for charging and data transfer or as a display for up to 2, 4k monitors on the right side. One older USB-A port and a headphone jack on the right. Unfortunately, there isn’t a HDMI or memory card slot on this model. The 1080p webcam does pretty well and gives you basic adjustments including levels of background blur if you need them. Decent to good light gives you the best results, and low light performance is so-so ok.
This Surface laptop has a Snapdragon X Plus, 8 core processor, and Qualcomm Adreno integrated graphics. Mid-range overall. While you can do basic games, photo editing, and light video editing with this setup, it’s not a powerhouse setup, so if you need something for more intense gaming or video editing, you will need to seek out something that has a heftier processor and graphics. The built-in Qualcomm Hexagon NPU does allow this model to do the newest AI features that everything is jumping on board with, including Microsoft Copilot to answer your questions and image creation in Paint, and more. No issues there. The 16 gigs of RAM will keep things running smoothly. My model has 512 gigs of storage space but the base model only comes with 256 gigs – very basic and to me, it’s worth a little extra to bump it up.
I haven’t had any issues at all running Office type programs on this, or watching streaming services. This Surface model can easily handle that. Trying out a couple of heavier duty games though, and it did skip frames and started to warm up noticeably, so again, you’ll need more beef if that’s your goal. The battery is said to run “up to” 23 hours of on device video playback or 16 hours of active web use. While I hadn’t had it long, I have been able to make it through two standard work days before needing to charge it. The brick included is standard (in two pieces you snap together, 45 watts) and plugs into one of the USB-C ports to recharge reasonably quickly.
So, overall I like the Surface 13 inch, but with some minor complaints. I do love the excellent build quality, the nice keyboard, the color, and the size/portability of it, and the very good battery life. I’m not thrilled with the Snapdragon X processor, however; I feel it could have been beefed up a bit at this price point. The monitor likewise is just ok for me and I would have liked to have seem something a notch up. Since it’s a touchscreen (which personally I don’t use much on a laptop), then being able to fold the screen back to use as a tablet and have stylus support might have been nice. So, it’s a mixed bag for me. I think anyone who needs a very basic use, very portable, and well made laptop will get the most out of this. Those seeking a powerhouse need to step up a bit. Look for sales on it, to make it an even better value-for-money.

Fast, smart, reliable, long battery life, very little heat, brilliant display, lightweight, well-built... Sure, some apps run in emulation, or better still, they don't work at all, but if you can replace those old apps, full stop - this is a game changer. You won't look back.

When I received this new Microsoft Surface Laptop with Copilot+ PC - 13" Touch-Screen - Snapdragon X Plus - 16GB - 512GB UFS (Latest Model) in a beautiful Ocean blue tint, I was blown away by the elegance of the unit's physical design and build and, upon research and usage, also by the astuteness of its advanced technologically integrated hardware and software design.
This ACPI ARM64-based laptop boasts the 8 Cores @ 3.3GHz version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus processor featuring a Qualcomm Oryon CPU, an integrated Adreno GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), and an integrated Hexagon NPU (Neural Processing Unit) that supports 45 TOPS (Trillions of Operations per Second) for secure, on-device, real-time AI (Artificial Intelligence) processing. This technological wonder enables fast, high-performance Copilot AI productivity, visual and audio features such as instantaneous image recognition, real-time language translation, live captioning, instant recall, and powerful image and video processing, editing, and creation. This cutting-edge processor design also features fantastic cooling and power-saving properties that allow you to use your Surface laptop full-time for almost 24 hours on just one full charge.
This new 13" touchscreen Surface Copilot+ PC is small, thin and light, making it perfect for travellers, workers and students.
It has a front facing camera and an IR camera and sufficient speakers and microphone for on-line meetings and face-time video interactions. It has a sensitive fingerprint sensor for security. It supports BlueTooth and WiFi7 with HBS Multi-Link which gives you the option to connect to 5G. It has two 3.2 USB-C ports, one USB-A port and a headphone jack. Its LCD display is clear, sharp and bright with excellent colors and a 60Hz refresh rate making it great for casual gaming.
In my opinion, this Microsoft Surface Laptop with Copilot+ PC laptop presents the latest technology you can get at this moment for an incredible price point. It has everything one needs to be the perfect everyday companion. I would highly suggest this for family and friends.

I really like my computer very much, it is easy to use, it has fingerprint lock, the color is beautiful, the keyboard can light it up for when you are in low-light places, the screen is touch and with a quick response to the touch, the only problem I have had is that a speaker sounds weird, as if it were dirty I really do not know why that happened to it, but from there on, everything is excellent.
