I needed a laptop for school mainly. I do a bit of coding and wanted to start a bit of video editing but haven’t had a chance. I know realistically this isn’t ideal for either but coming from a person who is tired of the heavy laptops as well as an expensive laptop I figured of settling with this. Honestly it’s not bad I love the size and basic color of it.
I wish the keys were light up so I can use it more in the dark but it is what it is. I have sweaty hands so it doesn’t leave minimal prints.

Would give a 0 stars if allowed. Received it tried to start it up, blue screen error. Unable to boot up. Missing necessary boot driver. Took to Best Buy geek squad and they said it was a bad computer, only thing to do was return it. So I did. I ordered this through the Best Buy site but they don’t make it clear that they also use a 3rd party vendor (Market Place) to fulfill some of their online orders. There lay the problem. If you end up with an order from market place and it is defective you only have 15 days to return, and you need to deal with Market place vendor, unless you have Best Buy’s total care coverage 179.00/year. They extend the return window and allow you do an in store return and refund.
One way to tell if your order is an actual Best Buy item is that the sku # always begins with a 6 and I believe is never more than 7 numbers. Market Place sku’s are 8-10 or more numbers and can contain - -‘s. I do thank the geek squad and other employees at return counter for helping me understand the the third party market place issue and for helping me return the item.

not compatible with surface slim pens
as a long customer of surface devices using it solely for illustration i am deeply disappointed they did not advertise this being not compatible with pens

As much as my past history and use of Surface was good, the new processor on this model has compatibility problems running some application, as determined by our IT team.
