Being an avid PC user for many years I have seen my share of software. Even though the majority of them have been Microsoft Windows, I have been exposed other operating systems. How ever, this version of Windows 10 is a great upgrade and a very stable one. Requires some getting use to but otherwise it's one of the best Windows versions I've used to date. If you haven't had the chance to use it, please give yourself the opportunity. You will not be disappointed.

After needing to upgrade my ssd to a larger samsung EVO, I needed an os to go along with it, and since you no longer can purchase Win 7, I had to go to 10. Honestly if you get past everyones review of 'I hate Microsoft' and 'Windows 10 steals all my information' it's a pretty good OS, there are a few quirks but overall, if you need to install a fresh version and are thinking about making the jump from Win 7 for whatever reason it's totally worth it.

Easy to Install Windows 10 from Windows Vista HP

Easy to install Windows 10 Home on a Windows Vista HP (32Bit) laptop. Although it removed all data and programs from the PC, I had no problem installing any of them back on the PC. I used a 2 year old $50 Best Buy gift card from a TV purchase two years ago, so it covered almost half the cost. The Windows 10 USB arrived exactly when I expected in good condition.

Win10 is better than Win8, however, it still has some issues. Not happy about the information permissions that were snuck in there where they collect data on you. Especially annoying is the constant screen to get you to upgrade. Only reason I have this is I built a new computer. At least it is improved, but I don't like that we can't uninstall on the programs we don't want that they stocked in the program.

Seriously Windows 10 is great imo. you don't have to get an antivirus of some sort to protect your pc, windows now has their own security not to mention it feels more friendly and advanced. Some people are complaining about how bad it is but I really don't see whats not to like. Also if people are complaining about it saying it needs to update then your doing something wrong. All windows does is inform me that it has updated and that's really about it. I'm also not really forced to update my computer and you can even turn it off in the settings. Cortana really makes it easy to find that setting to. I don't have much to go over in terms of the OS but I really do think its a great operating system compared to those in the past. Microsoft is seriously investing in Windows 10 and I'm liking what I'm seeing so far and I'm enjoying seeing Microsoft grow and do smart choices rather than poor choices like windows 8.

    Simple Fast Install

The package included a USB drive with the Windows 10 OS image on it. The install was fast and simple. Windows 10 is a huge improvement over Windows 8. Windows 7 was far better than windows 8 for PCs because the interface wasn't drastically different from previous versions of Windows. Windows 8 was suited mainly to tablets and touchscreen devices. Windows 10 retains much of the traditional Windows interface and feel while adding additional app support that you would see in a tablet or touchscreen device. Cortana, the Windows version of Siri can be useful but not necessary. Windows 10 comes with a license for only 1 PC. If you want to install on multiple PCs, you will need to purchase another disk or activation key. I would like to see packages available with support for multiple PCs so I don't need to purchase keys separately.

So I built another PC from scratch and purchased this Win10 OS in-store, which came with the product key, and bootable usb. Here's where things got interesting. When attempting to boot and install Windows 10 via the bootable usb, both mine and a 2nd pc I was building, gave some error. Either after booting into the installation software, or shortly after. Easy fix though. Had my own clean 8gb usb. Went to Microsoft's official site, and downloaded the Windows 10 installation media tool (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10). Be aware if you try this yourself, you need to do so from a PC that already has Windows 10 installed. Upon creating my new bootable usb, booted to it from my new PC. Installation went through this time without a hitch. Activated my product key. And was good to go. So all in all. Windows 10 is cool. But. The fact I paid a little extra for a bootable USB that doesn't work isn't. I do work in IT so I was able to find the proper workaround. But most consumers won't, and if you're paying a premium, you'd expect things to go smoothly. Hope this review helps anyone running into similar issues.

Enough reviews out there on Windows 10 already, but as to the purchase - nice to have a "hard copy" should anything go wrong, without having to rely on internet download - and this little flash drive is so much more convenient than those multiple discs like in the old days. Just plug it in the USB port - and it takes it from there.

Took about an hour to install to my newly built PC. Setup worked flawlessly. Having it on a USB was really handy since I did not include a DVD drive.

Was looking foward to the free install of Windows10. During the free install it failed and ended up with the Blue Screen Of Death. Thinking I could then purchase the Windows 10 program and install I proceeded to install the purchased Windows 10 knowing full well that all my information was lost. Installing went well and the computer was up and running and I was installing backed up information of nine months past. All was well, I had the computer working for me again. Yes I do like the software, looks clean and I was not one really using the tiles. The software Seems to respond fast and its layout old and new at the same time. But good things can become not so good and just yesterday (9/17) the Blue Screen Of Death has hit again. This is a current laptop less than eight months old that was running Windows 8 to begin with. I am currently working on trying to salvage what I can. And reinstall again. Will try to update my review at a future date.

So I built a PC and was glad I purchased this version of Windows 10. My first motherboard had a bad CMOS battery, and because it was a Mini ITX, I couldn't just swap out the battery. So I had to a get a new mobo. But since this was the retail Windows 10, I called up Microsoft and license transferred with no issues. Phew~~~
