Installation frustration

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I could not do a clean install of this OEM Operating System software on a new and newly formatted hard drive because, the motherboard bios in my Dell Inspiron 3880 would not detect it as a bootable drive. It should come with additional software to create a bootable partition on the new hard drive when installing a Windows 10 Pro 32-bit operating system on a computer which previously had Windows 10 Home 64-bit on its original hard drive. This continues to be a very frustrating situation.

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had previously purchased 3 copies of the 32-bit version of Windows 10 for my computers, as I have legacy software that will NOT run under 64-bit systems. By purchasing it through Best Buy, instead of directly through Microsoft or the computer shop, I saved nearly $100 per DVD purchase. I had to get another one, in hopes of a new computer, but unfortunately, the processor was designed for 64-bit systems, and won't load the 32-bit version. I can NOT see discarding perfectly good hardware and software, just to satisfy Microsoft's bottom line. As noted, buying the DVD through Best Buy was saving a considerable amount of money.

Took forever to load and configure the laptop. Fortunately I had a business license and had built several desktop and tower machines...back when NT2000 was hot.

And working thru all the "Help" suggestions did not get my problem resolved. I spent HOURS trying to ask the "right" question. Unfortunately, there is no Geek Squad person to talk to or at least not conveniently. This has been a very frustrating event. Fortunately, I backed up desktop and could reload everything except MS 2007 did not upload. I've been trying to use my machine for about a month w/o office product. Frankly, it sucks. I just noticed the fine print under the icon it says 32-bit. From the online description, I thought the software was for both 32- and 64 bit machines. My machine is 64-bit. Where do we go from here.

Since this purchase, we've found that it's cheaper to buy it straight from Microsoft's site.

I took my computer to Best Buy in Joplin and they couldn’t get it to read either! They loaded a flash drive, but now I haven’t been able to get my computer to log on to the internet!

It will not install on VirtualBox although I have been using Windows 7 for several years on VirtualBox.
