Purchase Windows OS 8.1, since ASUS crashed my computer with a update that they will not backup. Installation was a snap and very easy to install. With the plug and play built in, it recognized all my equipment without me looking for the drivers. Now my computer is back up and I am back in business. Windows 8.1 just takes a little time to get use too, but the transition from Windows 7 to 8 was no big deal.

I had a Dell Dimension XPS 720 running XP. It is still a good machine so I wanted to keep it around. I formatted the drive and installed 8.1 on it, works great!

It was good to have the start menu back and the ease of access was great. As soon as I bought this product, however, I used the free upgrade to Windows 10 so I didn't get to play around with it completely.

Needed windows to run in Parallels on my Mac. Plan to update to Win 10 soon. In this review I'm forced to answer if I would recommend this to a friend or not. Windows 8.. No Get 10 it's out now.

Good operating system, easy to navigate through once you get the hang of changing screens. Can easily get to the standard looking desktop screen that is used by previous versions of Windows.

Had to upgrade a machine from vista. Upgrade not supported so a full reload from scratch went fine. Machine is quite a few years old but no issues running this version and quite a bit faster

I bought VMWare fusion as a switching program for instal of windows on my Mac for work program and am very happy with the results! It works great and I still get the operations of my Mac!

Great windows version very easy to work and nice features

Let's be honest, there aren't really any secrets about Windows 8.1 at this point. It works pretty well for the most part and in general is quite stable. If you are using a non-touch screen laptop, it can (depending on the machine) be a nightmare. Frequently (for me) the "Charms" and the "Metro Screen" pop up with a will of their own, when I am navigating the desktop with the touchpad (and rarely it will still happen when using a mouse). It is truly annoying but not exactly debilitating.

Installed the new OS on a new HD (the old one crashed), my Win 7 install version was 3.5 yrs old (imagine the hours of up dates). This saved time and frustration.

This new upgrade to Windows allows for new input methods including a touch screen. The Metro design is very modern.

Easy to install, easy to navigate. It works great.

Runs far better than our old XP, however, not much better than Win7. But Win10 is a free upgrade so the price we paid at BB has become an even better value.

The fluid navigation provided by Windows 8.1 is awesome. Getting things done has never been simpler and multitasking between different programs is excellent.

It's decent if you have a touch-screen. I don't and therefore am not truly a fan and....can't wait for Win 10!

The setup was very easy. The software works great have not had an issue with it yet. It does take some time to figure out the changes from windows 7.

The installation with Windows 8.1 was very easy to do and it doesn't take more than 10 minutes to complete. The steps are simple and I needed to upgrade to Windows 8.1 after receiving a new hard drive in my older labtop. It will take time to get used to Windows 8.1 because it is very different from Windows 7.

I was holding off on the upgrade to windows 8.1, but it is not as bad as I thought it would be. My only complaint is that this os seems unfinished.

This Windows 8.1 Operating System disk for my home use is perfect. My hard drive crashed, and although all my personal files were backed up on flash drives, the operating system itself was not. With the new hard drive, this disk was easy to install and had me back up and running in very little time.

I had a virus that I could not get rid of so I reformated my hard drive wiping it clean and installed windows 8 on it and all is well.
