it is a security feature that lets you lock the computer. it works fine.

I was used to having a big production when I upgraded but this was as simple as inserting a stick into a port.

I use Windows 7 Pro, but to use the new tower had to have this software and I am working it with it.

This is a great product and very simple to install. Windows 8 Pro adds the ability to host remote connections.

Great upgrade to windows 8.1. Recommend if a person got stuck with windows 8.1 home, better features and runs better. Unfortunately the price is way to high for an upgrade. Only reason I bought it is because i had discounts.

Bought the upgrade license for a business, very easy install. Makes active directory possible.

Windows 8.1 is a good improvement over 8.0. You can start straight to desktop which is awesome

I ordered online and picked up in the Saratoga store. It was an easy transaction and no waiting. Installing the software was simple as expected. The pro version was necessary to upgrade our dental practice mgmt. software package.

product basically gives you a code to use to upgrade from home to pro. I had to have a domain login on a laptop that came with home. Not the fault of BB, but it's crazy to have a version just to allow that.

I bought this to fix my windows 8 that I already had on my computer. It was one of the broken versions of 8. However, when I tried to use it, the computer said that the key wasn't valid. BestBuy refused to take it back or provide any help at all, even though they were the ones who recommended it to fix my problem. So I can't give it anything other than a poor rating, nor would I recommend it.

I needed to purchase the upgrade because I needed to do virtualization on the PC I had recently purchased. Virtualization is only available in the Pro Pack.

My main reason for purchase, was Media Center. But video playback is terrible. And there are a lot of others with the same problem. They also have a lot of Apps for you to buy, that should have come with the product. Microsoft pretends to help, while not being able to solve the problem. They are obviously reading from an outdated manual. And after going through all the paces, goes back to the begining, and starts it all over again. Other than that, it's a good product, but far from great.

Only drawback is that my internet connection was slow to install update

The only reason to get this upgrade is for some network option that are not included in non-professional version of windows .
