Many appreciate the improved picture quality and performance, along with the inclusion of extra storage and a controller. While some found the initial setup challenging, the elimination of the power brick was a welcome change for most users.

two thumbs up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.slim design lets it fit anywhere and the picture is awesome as long as you have the tv for it. 4k ability is a plus plus, bought this instead of paying $50 more for just a 4k player.

oh yea
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been jamming on xbox since the original xbox came out. This is worth picking up of the 4k quality. I have had this for a few months and it is still working great. Its not like I am going to add anything to this that you don't already know. Worth picking it up.

Great 4K player and console in 1
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Games look great on 4K tv as well as movies. For the price you can't beat it. Very small and light. Bought PS4 pro as well and now have the best of both worlds.

Good entertainment console
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The main reason I purchased this was for the 4K blue ray player. For a little more then a stand alone 4k player you also get a gaming console. I get to watch my movies, play the occasional game, and the girl friend can watch her Netflix in 4K. Works great. If your just buying something for gaming go with a PS4. I have the original and the Pro and they are much better gaming consoles. But if you want something that can do it all this is it.

Upgrade your XBox!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an Xbox 360 and it was time to upgrade. I bought this last year with my Best Buy gift cards and a little cash. It was well worth the investment. I've had nothing but great times playing friends at home and online.

The kids made me do it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The kids made me do it lol. But seriously this is an impressive gaming console. I don't play a whole lot but when I do this thing works great. Made my TV look bad so I upgraded to a 4K TV and wow what a difference.

Excellent update to an already great console
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned all of the XBOX systems since the beginning and they keep getting better all the time. I still have the last version to keep as a backup or to use in another room. Another reason for keeping it was to have the extra controller without having to purchase a new one which would negate any money I would have received as a trade-in. The older controllers will also work on the XBOX ONE S. As for the XBOX ONE S, it's definitely smaller, lighter, quieter, downloads faster from Wi-Fi and the games do play and look somewhat better on my SONY 1080p TV. Eventually I will get a 4K TV to enjoy the benefits of games in HDR and 4K Blu-ray movies but there are too many variations and constant revisions being made at this time. The batteries in the new controller seem to be lasting longer than the previous version. Just buy a 36 pack of DYNEX AA batteries next time they go on sale and you'll be set for a long time. XBOX consoles are great (I also own a PS4) for a number of reasons: great exclusive games, excellent online for multiplayer, backward compatibility with XBOX 360 games, excellent free games with XBOX Live Gold membership, ability to use an external hard drive (up to 2), ability to play games on a Windows 10 PC. I didn't think I would like a white console since all the other components I have are black but it seems to blend in better than expected. One thing to keep in mind is the hard drive storage space when purchasing the different versions. The Operating System data will need 220 GB which doesn't leave much for games and eventual updates unless you get a console with a 1 or 2 TB capacity or an external hard drive. Best Buy recently had a 1 TB external drive on sale for around $50 which is a good deal if you decide to get the smaller HDD console to save some money and need to expand later. You can have games on both the internal and external HDD. This console is a good step forward until the XBOX Scorpio comes out. NOTE: check out the Black Friday sales ad for a good deal on a 500 GB console. Have Fun!

Very pleased
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was initially only looking for an ultra-hd 4K blue ray player, but made a lot more sense to go with the Xbox one S for the additional gaming capability and price difference between both options. 4K ultra hd movie picture quality is phenomenal in zoom mode (where entire 4K TV screen shows video vs wide screen mode where there are unused regions of screen above and below the video). Game quality is also amazing with impressively realistic graphics for games like Forza.

XBOX ONE is the ONE!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beautiful looking console. Easy setup, but downloading and installing games does take some time (40 to 60 minutes depending on game) - side note most games allow you to start playing after the game is partially downloaded plus you are downloading or installing the game in the background whereas you can play other games while the game is installing. Expanding backward compatibility for XBOX 360 and Live Arcade - be warned some of your XBOX Live Arcade games may not be presently available. Well ventilated and the power supply is now inside the console. The controller is still the best in the business. It just feels right plus you can purchase the battery accessory with USB charger cable - no AA batteries. Desktop interface is intuitive and smooth. Very few game demos and/or trial versions available for XBOX ONE games. Gears of War 4 is a beautiful 3rd person shooter running at 1080P 60 frames. The gameplay is intuitive and entertaining with really good replay value in the solo campaign (And yes I played the original series on XBOX 360). Visit metacritic.com for a true idea of a game's quality. XBOX Live is XBOX Live - still the best. Hoping for a great Castlevania and/or Ninja Gaiden game to come along. The library of games is strong enough to warrant a console purchase. Dirt Rally is fantastic. Thanks Codemasters! Forza Horizon 3 is stunning! Madden 17 is Madden 17.

Great Family Unit to go with 4k TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have 4 Xbox one's in the house, 3 kids and mine in my home office. We recently updated the family room TV to 4K so we added this to get the 4k blue ray player and use as family game unit. We purchase all our games on disk so we can share. Gears of war output on HDR is great, 4k movies even better. However it does not have 4k pass through on the input. Cheapest 4k blue ray player.

My pick for this year
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This year I had to make a choice between getting the PS4 pro or getting Xbox one S. for me I like the games that are exclusive to Xbox like Gears Of Wars and Forza. one of the biggest advantages of owning an Xbox is that you get the ability to play Ultra 4 K movies which will save you 150 bucks to buy 4k bluray player. while in the PS4 pro you cannot play any 4K discs.

Worth the upgrade from the standard xbox one!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the first Xbox one when they first came out. The quality and size of this one is amazing compared to the first. You no longer have a giant power brick on the cord, the power button is an actual physical button and not touch (super nice), and the size is perfect. The new controllers compared to the original are great as well.

Fantastic new version
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm so glad Microsoft came out with this updated version of the Xbox one! I have a really nice 4K TV and I'm thrilled to be able to take better advantage of it with this new version of the system! I can steam 4K and play 4K enabled games and movies! Plus it is smaller and more streamlined, cutting down on shelf space! Love it love it!

I'm glad I purchased this.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasn't going to get the Xbox 1 S but I was searching for a new tv. When I decided on a tv this was part of the package. I purchased a LG OLED65E6P and the Xbox 1 S is a great Blu-ray player. 4K and HDR looks amazing. 3D is even great. Games look more alive. Colors are more prominent. The tv compliments the Xbox and vice versa.

Much improved over original xbox one
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The new compact size and lack of a giant brick power supply is a much needed improvement over the original xbox one. We have one of each and there is a noticeable difference between the 2 on the 4k tv and even on our non-4k. Very happy with this purchase.
