I'm a little bit disappointed with the story and the ending... not going to recommend it to anyone else.

I really wanted to see this movie & was disappointed when i finally did. This movie did not live up to all the hype that surrounded it . If you grew up in the 90's and were in to skate boarding & 90's music, you may enjoy this. I would skip this purchase and if you really want to see it, try borrowing it from the library or somehow see it free.

if you live during that period in LA you'll enjoy this flik even more

Not a bad movie. The subject matter is tough to watch sometimes especially during scenes when young characters are doing certain mature things.

An impressive strong directoral debut for Jonah Hill!

I feel like if i saw this blind and without any credits, there's a decent chance i still could have guessed it was a Jonah Hill joint. This thing is barely a movie, Lucas Hedges' character is badly mishandled, and the flimsy narrative has a very fraught relationship with the notion of basic conflict (it avoids it like the plague, then piles it on all at once in a panic to bring the "story" to a head and resolve it), but the kids are great, and i believed the bond that keeps them together. Still, it's funny how both this and (the superior) SKATE KITCHEN are so afraid of plot, and yet seemingly powerless to keep one at bay.
