It’s an open world game so length depends on how many side quests a person wants to do. The main story is fairly short, around 15-20 hours. It also isn’t for purists who do not like deviations from Tolkien’s books. The story is fun but is very different from the books and even movies. While Gollum is the same interpretation in this game as the movies, it is difficult to see this fitting nicely in that universe. Overall it is an excellent fantasy game, but makes questionable changes to the Middle-Earth lore that don’t always fit nicely in that world.

Shadow of Mordor is unbelievable it plays similar to games like farcry or assassin's creed in the sense that you try to take over strongholds around the map stealthily or go in blades drawn but the game has way more you can ride monsters and take control of orcs minds if you take control of commanders you get them and their troops to fight for you they all have a rival and most have an enemy or monster they fear you must make sure you think before you send units to fight for you eventually you build a massive army and storm into battle.

The Nemesis system is surprisingly awesome. The combat is snappy and BRUTAL. The way your character can dominate an onslaught of Orcs is more rad than expected. Plus I love LOTR.

Very advanced game for the time. Starts off hard but gets easier as you progress. Kind of repetitive but the game can be very long if you do all the side missions.

As a big LOTR fan, I've wanted to play this game for a while now. This game is quite fun, but make sure to pay attention to all the things you can do at the start! I didn't and the combat got stale until I realized I was doing it wrong. It's maybe a little to slow for some, but I'm not too hard to please and ended up playing it for over 6 hours straight multiple times. If you enjoy some combo of open world stuff, assassians creed, and/or LOTR, this game is worth a shot for the prices you can find it for now. **Have not played DLC content yet**

The shadow of Mordor is the prequel to the shadow of war. With game informer rating the later a 9.5 and the prequel being game of the year, I figured it was time to check it out.

I have only read and heard great things about this game. It is similar in gameplay to the Assassin Creed series. You have a variety of bosses to beat and that can change depending on how you complete missions. I like the variety of weapons and resources at your disposal to defeat enemies. This game has a large quantity of side missions,so plan on playing for hours if you want to complete all missions aside from the main story line . Buy,buy,buy..
