He uses it on a concrete wall (with his Kindle Fire or DVD player - I don't know which) and the picture is still great and huge. Next we'll use it on my cathedral ceiling!

I really wanted a portable projector for the longest time. The Miroir SYNQ projector did not disappoint! The unboxing experience was pleasant. It came with a power adapter and an HDMI cable. The first thing that I noticed was how small it was. It really is small. I was really curious as to what kind of image such a small projector could make. More on that later. The design is really simple. It has three buttons on the top, a power button and two volume buttons. There is a focus dial on the side. If you remove the back/bottom panel, you will see the charger port, a reset button, an audio out, HDMI, and USB port. There is a front stand that you can pop out to get a better angle. This foot stand was really unnecessarily hard to pop out. I really think that this is an understated design. It is designed so that you can plug in a streaming stick for a truly wireless experience. I plugged in my Chromecast to the HDMI and powered it using the USB. Once you put the panel back on, you have a portable and wireless media device. Now on to the picture quality. This thing is absolutely amazing. I am amazed with the picture quality. The 720p picture is crisp. The focus is manual using the dial. There is an auto keystone function, meaning it will make sure that your picture is a rectangle no matter the angle that you put the projector. This function wasn’t perfect. Sometimes it was annoying as it took more than a couple tries to get it to work. Now the biggest weakness is the brightness. At only 200 lumens, it doesn’t hold its own in a well-lit room. In a dark room, the picture was perfect. I was able to get the 80” picture but I preferred the crispness and brightness with smaller picture sizes. The audio quality is simply amazing. I was not expecting much but it completely exceeded expectations. It was loud enough that I did not feel I needed an external audio source. Battery life was great. I got around the advertised 3 hours. It charged pretty quickly. You can also use it with the power adapter plugged in. There was no difference in brightness and picture quality when it is plugged in vs. battery power. They really cut out a lot of things with this projector. There are not really any settings that you can control outside of the volume. No brightness, contrast, mode, and sharpness adjustments. It really is plug in streaming stick/HDMI and play. You get what you see. That may be a deal breaker for some. Pros: Small and portable Design allows streaming stick to be unseen Good picture quality Auto-keystone Good audio quality that can get loud Good battery life Cons Low brightness No controllable settings All in all, there is a lot to like with this projector. It has a great design that allows for a truly wireless and portable experience without any sticks or ports sticking out. With a lot of options out there, I really think the Miroir M189 holds its own.

We had no issues with the projector. We just decided we need one that would project to larger space. But, the quality was good and it worked well.

Miroir - Surge Series SYNQ 720p DLP Projector This is a really well made projector. It weighs in around 2 or 3 pounds, so it is very portable. The audio is surprisingly good, a caution and more on this later. Battery life seems longer than the 3 hours they advertise. I was able to get close to 6 hours before recharging having it set on ECO, hold both volume buttons to change the modes. The projection is bright and clear at almost any size with adjustments to the focus. In the box you get the projector (720P), a power adapter, a very short HDMI cable. I did not receive a micro USB cable or it was missed in the opening process. Overall I am very impressed with this unit, but there are a few modifications I would like to see in future releases. See below for these minor dings. I tested this with a 72 inch projection screen, on a wall and with a miniature projection screen that is about 19 inches I had from an old Woot Box Of Cheringtons I had laying around, ie in office closet. One issue I ran into, and this seems to be a Chrome OS issue. When using my Chromebook I was not able to get audio to play over the projectors speaker over HDMI. I had no such issues with any other devices I used like a Roku, Windows PC nor Fire Stick. There are a few things I would like to see improved on: *The first is the power adapter. This could be redesigned to fit inside the door to the unit for storage. *Next, the door is difficult to open. A minor redesign would fix this as well. *The leg to adjust the projecting angle gives only two options. Flat and up. *The dial for focus is very stiff and hard to fine tune. *There is no lens adjustment for key stoning (angular/off center projection). The unit does do some auto-adjusting based on angle of the unit, but there are times when it does not adjust enough and does not adjust left right. *No lens cover. The above issue and list of improvements are the reasoning I dropped a star. This is a really good projector that is just a couple tweaks from excellent. I would recommend for anyone looking for a 720P projector. The battery makes it perfect for business meetings or back yard use. If you have a tripod, this has a tripod mount on the bottom to help get to that center line of the projection surface.

Tried to use this in backyard for football viewing; couldn’t even tell it was on! It worked inside in a dark room, but even then was not very bright. You can definitely do better at this price point.
