Projector works but remote constantly malfunctions

    Posted

The projector has a quality image and is easy to set up, which is vital for me since I use this for business presentations that can easily move locations. Also, the iPhone app works as described, showing documents, photos, and videos from my phone. I love the tilt feature, eliminating the need for an awkward tripod! However, the remote control malfunctions to the point that I constantly have to remove the batteries to get the remote to function properly. Obviously, that is a major issue since the menu is only accessible through the remote control - there is not a button on the projector that allows access to the menu too. If the manufacturer can improve the remote, this would easily be 5 stars for me and other mobile business professionals.

I got this projector as a backup for my classroom and to use for slideshows in our performances. I didn't think it would have a big enough or bright enough screen, but it was worth a chance. When I turned it on, I was very surprised that the screen size can even be bigger than what I use in my classroom and that it appears just as bright with the lights off. My students actually liked it better than our full size projector. I can access my drive files for classroom use, but with the built in hard drive, it's also great for watching movies or TV programs with Sling. This product turned out to be much better than I expected. The only downside is that it doesn't mirror my iPad or phone, but with the chrome search engine, I can get to almost anything I would need anyway. I had to search for Google Drive in the chrome app and download it...that was a little confusing.

DO YOUR RESEARCH Written by Rob P from Aguanga Just hope you don't need support help. You'll spend a couple of weeks on email with MIROIR attempting to solve a tech problem. THEY HAVE NO PHONE CONTACT. A month later and I still haven't received a final resolution to the problem. NEXT - - MIROIR spent a lot of money on the tech part of the projector, but the connector parts GET A FAILING GRADE. The power cable won't stay in. The HDMI cable is a very bad fit which puts up a battle every time you want to plug it in to the projector. The HDMI goes into the $45.00 accessory cable to the iPhone without a problem. NEXT- - The focus on the MIROIR 175 leaves a lot to be desired. Does not provide a SHARP picture no matter how much adjusting you do. NEXT - - I'm sure their next $99.00 projector will have their improvements this $350.00 Miroir 175 doesn't/t have. ($350 includes $45 for cable) NEXT - - Shop around at the competitive products, you'll be glad you did. Sorry mine was a gift.

I love this mini Projector. It's says it 80" but if you have room it projects much larger. I measured it to be 120+ inches. Maybe at 80" it maximum sharpness. But for me it's awesome. Completely changes the feel. I use it all over from hotel rooms to hospital room. It has a focus and swivels allowing for ez placement. Pitfalls. If you want this for battery operated only. It only last 1 hr. I just plug in doesn't bother me or bring back up power that you use for cells or iPads. The other issue is the directions how to use were a bit vague for me and took a second trip to the store for both of us to figure out. Once I learned how to use remote to bring image playing I haven't had any issues since. Well worth the money

On the first day I had this, I thought it was amazing. I loved it, and was nerding out with excitement. Come day number two, that excitement rapidly faded as the remote would not connect anymore, rendering the projector totally useless. I read the manual (again & again), searched online for help, and ultimately contacted Miror. I told them that I had tried everything listed in the manual, etc, and they just sent me a copy paste of the manual in the email. I responded, stating that I already did all that, as previously stated. Miror told me that I could send the projector back to them to get inspected, AT MY SHIPPING COST, and HOLDING ALL LIABILITY. I responded back, stating that after paying $300 for the product and it failing to work on day #2, that personally paying to ship back and holding all liability for shipping was not going to work. I gave Miror the full time period of 30 days I had to return the item, and after not receiving any guidance from them, I was forced to return the projector the the store for a refund.

The sales person told us it would probably not work well outside and that it needs to be very dark to use it. Not so. While it is true that it works best in pitch black, we were able to use it outside, streaming Netflix from my smartphone just a short while after sunset. It got better as it got darker but we could see it fine in twilight. If it isn't real dark, you'll have to bring it closer and reduce the screen to like 40 inches, but even in the light of a full moon, we were able to watch it at the full 80 inches. The smart apps are a great addition and smartphone mirroring was pretty easy to set up on android, far less east on IOS.

I bought this mini projector to use when I travel. It’s so insanely great that I use it all the time at night. It says 80” diagonal but in my home I sit about 20 ft from a large white wall and it projects at least 150” diagonal. It also allows you to focus. Frankly I come from the days of drive in movies so I don’t need HD quality. It’s perfectly fine and is so small and portable that you will use it more than you think. As far as battery life. It’s none existent. After maybe a week the battery would not hold a charge. But you can plug it in. If I want to use it outside where there is no power. I had a battery backup that I have for my phones or iPad and it works perfectly that way as well. I would buy another one if this one broke. I love it!

We got this projector to watch videos outside on the patio at night. We were a bit skeptical at first, I was afraid that the quality of the projector would be low, but it far surpassed my expectations. An Amazing technological leap! Don't let the lumens fool you. It is much brighter than you would expect from such a small device. Bright enough in a somewhat dim room. It's great if you're in the dark. I hooked it up to eternal speakers via bluetooth, that worked great. I just connect and stream away, I'm at the movies in my backyard. For its small size this projector packs quite a punch. I'd definitely recommend!!!

Totally happy with the Miroir - WVGA Wireless Smart DLP Projector. For the cost it does exactly what I need it to do which is project movies in a dimly lit to dark room. If you want to use a projector in a somewhat lit room this probably isn't the projector your looking for and I would go with something with more lumins:>) Bluetooth works well with the cheap soundbar that I bought and the external jack for speaker output also works well for directly connecting to your sound source. I have 0 complaints so far and it does EXACTLY what I bought it for which was to show movies either in my backyard or in a hospital room that my dad was in during an extended hospital stay. All in all a good little projector and small enough to carry in your pocket.

I purchased this because I needed a small projector for traveling, this fits the bill perfectly. I opted for the slightly more expensive version due to the better brightness. It was worth it. My first presentation was in a low light environment and it worked perfectly. Produced a vivid screen of about 80" while only being just over 2 feet from the screen. I've used it standalone to stream netflix onto a wall and the built-in wifi and android OS didn't disappoint. I haven't tried the online PowerPoint presentation mode yet but will be. Only downfall is you do need low light to darkness for a very vivid screen but this is expected from this class of projector.

I was originally going to purchase the less expensive mini projector from Miroir. I’m glad I opted for the more expensive version because this mini projector is awesome! I’ve used it indoors as well as outdoors with several people watching it at once. Every person has been very impressed with this product. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 Stars is because of the DC connector. It is very loose and comes out very easy which causes it to lose power if you are not paying attention. Also, from my research, it is not compatible with iPhones unfortunately. Other than that it is awesome!

Good quality for the price. This projector is compact and easy to use and set up. It did not connect wirelessly with my Samsung S7. I would have really liked that option. One of the reasons I went with this product was because I was under the assumption that I would be able to connect it wirelessly with my phone. It did not connect with the adapter either. For the price additional adapters should have been included. Over all I'm still satisfied with the quality of this product. Very affordable easy to use. Decent speaker quality. Battery life could use some improvement.

I grabbed this in a pinch while traveling. I was pleased that I have a number of options to connect... the box did not much justice. The included help/instructions are sparse also. But I got it working, thankfully I am technical. I knew when I bought it, the resolution was not high, but for the price, it would have been nicer for a full HD out resolution. The 2nd issues is that I kept losing connectivity with my phone... I had it running a repeating slide show. Not sure if my phone or device was the reason, but it happened a few times.

I bought this for when I go camping so we can just relax at night and watch a movie and it settles the kids down for bed. I was impressed with the clarity of the mirror for a 480 it shoes really nice it has an internal speaker as well it's not to loud but it does the job in a pinch. My only complaint is i wish the battery life was longer you only get one movie out of it. I plan on using it a lot more once the weather heats up a little probably do family movie nights outside.

This projector is rated at 200 lumens. A friend recently gave me another pico projector that is rated at 85 lumens, and is brighter. Don't buy the Miroir projector. I wish I had access to a power meter so I could get some actual data. But I don't. I made the mistake of waiting too long to return it, and now I am stuck with a very expensive flashlight. Best Buy should remove this from their shelves.

Love it for public presentations. Only issue, mousy speaker. I did not remember to bring my audio cable for the speaker. I took it from the store to a presentation. Set it up on the fly, great video. Easy to use, compact. Still amazed at how much projectors in general cost.... but the cost was expected. Once I add a speaker with a cable to plug in, it will be perfect.

Bought this to hook up my iphone/ipad. Sound, brightness, and clarity are awesome. The only thing I wish they had included with the product is a connector for lightning to usb. But Best Buy was awesome and gave me a free one ($79 value). No flaws as of yet. Note, you cannot connect via Bluetooth with your phone to the device. You can download some apps through wifi.

Pros: Set up, cable options Cons: Price, stability, brightness Purchased item on short notice for a presentation. The HDMI cable was heavier than the projector and caused the device to lean to one side. A hole for a tripod screw would probably take care of this. I have since used it with a cell phone holder and that seemed to work well.

Easy to use for anyone. Connect a phone or other device by hdmi connection and mirror content onto blank wall or projector screen. For the price very good quality image. Also WiFi capable and has Netflix preloaded into programming. Love it for outside movie night or even camping. It runs for a full length movie before needing to recharge. Love it

I use this portable projector on regular basis. Overall I am happy with the the projector it's easy to setup and the clarity is fine. My only issue is not always do none PowerPoint platform material display through the projector. This could be an issue with my company issued laptop and not the projector. If you need a portable and easy to use projector I recommend you get this one.
