I wasn't expecting much from the film, boy was I wrong! The movie is very much in the style of 2001 A Space Odyssey. The dialogue is slow and methodical and you are constantly in a state of confusion as to what is going on. The ending is ambiguous gut great, just like 2001. Cinematography is great also. Highly recommended.

Ex Machina is not for those who seek fast and furious action. There are long slow scenes that can try anyone's patience, but the intent is to give you room to think, rather than just react viscerally. Great special effects and eextremely thought provoking about our future, and ironically, our past.

This movie was not what I expected, but that's good. I won't tell you what happens; however, it definitely didn't play out the way I expected as I watched. It had small and large twists and always kept me guessing. The biggest drawback was that some of the dialogue was reminiscent of Phantom Menace 'quality'.

Had heard very good things from this movie. Upon watching it captured my attention very quickly and was extremely interested along with its very casual yet extremely entertaining dialogue. Many twists and turns. Great picture quality as well.

Good sci-fi movie. What do u do when robots go crazy?

While not a great movie, it does well with the premise of the "AI" and how to relate with them. Several little twists in the plot that weren't too obvious and made it an enjoyable movie. Photography is excellent. Vocal levels are a little low, requiring high volume to hear the dialog over the background music.

Quality film in appearance. Sci-Fi grounded on Earth. Very little need to world build. Has elements of futuristic robotic technology. Delves into philosophical and ethical relationships between human and independent AI. And deals somewhat with the pitfalls of overreaching science.

This movie is terrifying, thrilling, exciting and most of all unnerving! A peek into the future may offer or not what we will face going forward. Androids/ Robots created to satisfy every need we may have... Until the need is no longer ours, but theirs... A question to ponder as we move along the 21st Century...

Great science fiction film! Makes the viewer really think about the morals of creating thinking androids and all that it entails. Story, performances, production design, camera work, music, visual effects, and editing are all first rate! It might not be the fastest paced film(and nothing goes "BOOM"),but boy,is it powerful!

Alicia Vikander puts in a career defining performance as a robot that has very human traits, of both good and evil. must watch movie for any fan of science fiction.

There are few filmmakers as amazing as Alex Garland. His obsessive attention to detail and ability to enrapture viewers is a gift. I believe that this movie is a must see as we get a glimpse of a world where AI is being deployed more and more into everyday life.

At first I thought.........man this movie is a waste of my time...but the longer I watched it the more I got interested.........all kinds of twists and turns and hair standing on my neck a time or two.......watch it all the way through and then you will just sit there a few minutes and say " oh my god.....that was so good".

Overall a generally strange type of movie, but is interesting. Graphics are amazing, which is why it won an Oscar for them, but not a movie the majority of people would say is great.

This was an awesome movie. I can mostly anticipate the outcome of a movie, but not this one. I was truly surprised with the ending. It really does show cold and calculated the android was, and how vulnerable man is when it comes to a beautiful, helpless woman. I can look at thus movie again without being bored but in awe.

Finally a movie that engages the viewer and draws them into the experience rather than just telling you the story with a back story monologue by one of the actors. This movie is a refreshing look into the dynamic world of AI and human interaction with technology. Great film to add to any collection and was great to watch!

Like stage actors who live and breathe their roles over the course of months, Isaac, Gleeson, and Vikander excel, and cast a spell. As for the disc itself, it has it’s flaws but UHD really improves the HD transfer. Images are cleaned up and things look a little tidier.

Certainly a film that I think doesn't get the praise it deserves, this is probably my 3rd copy of the film. When I hear that a friend hasn't seen it, I get them to watch it and it's always cool to hear their perspective on this one.

Thoroughly engaging film about the trials and tribulations of creating an AI and all the potential dangers involved. Especially enjoyed it twisting down into body horror territory, making one wonder what it means to be human. Terrific ending leaves the door open to a sequel which in this case I’d actually love to see.

This is for story driven movie watchers only. If you anticipate action with this movie you will be disappointed. For me this movie does a great job of exploring the pros and cons of A.I. I rate the acting as top notch and great story. There is a little to much fowl language in parts for me, and there is full nudity.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this film, but I decided to take a shot since the hype was great. I'm happy to say that it wasn't wrong. This was a quietly and beautifully creepy movie about one man's assessment of an A.I. and his dealings with its quirky and sometimes scary creator. Definitely a unique film.
