What an incredible story and movie plot. Humanity vs. machine not like the Terminator shows but differently. Very eye opening and revolutionary. I liked the way they showed the before and after for the robots and bionics, didn't even realize the servant he had was a synthetic person until the very end

A very interesting concept for a story. Ava is an amazing character in this movie and the concept of maybe falling in love with something that is not truly human is the question.

The concept of this movie was very interesting; it asks questions about the outcome of man's brilliance and hubris. Quite intriguing. While the pacing of the movie is a bit slow in places, the special and visual effects create a believable (and scary) environment. Really impressive.

    Great Deep Thought Sci-Fi

Though not Sci-Fi as far as set-in-the-future, out-of-this-world, space opera, Ex Machina provides a great story with outstanding special effects. With a couple of twists and a surprise ending that cries for a sequel or even a complete movie or TV series, Ex Machina will keep you thinking and wondering.

Classic sci-fi themes (think Asimov, Niven, Dick) with a bit of Blade Runner mixed in. Beautifully shot, well acted and full of - at least to me, surprises. Absolutely worth a rental, and if you're like me and watch movies more than a couple times, doubly so worth the purchase.

Thoughtful and very well produced. A sci-fi picture which raises some interesting questions about AI and the human thinking behind it. An extended version of the Turing Test ... with immediate implications. Not as fast-paced as Blade Runnner but a great pic nonetheless.

If you want to get a glimpse of what the future might be like you need to watch the movie, Ex Machina. It creates some interesting philosophical questions about how far we should take technology. The movie leaves you feeling intrigued but also afraid of future. The movie is well-done at all levels.

Wonderfully acted sci-fi film that will leave you guessing at who each character truly is and what lengths they will ultimately go to until the stunning, twisty ending. A modern classic of the genre.

An uncommonly well-polished sci-fi film made on a low budget that is more creepy than you may anticipate, but powerful enough to leave you speechless at the end. Had to upgrade to 4K.

This film looks great in 4K with improved resolution and color from its bluray counterpart. The film is also a very interesting watch and apart from that it’s visually phenomenal.

I first remember seeing previews for this movie on tv a while back and I thought that it looked interesting from what I saw. Having skipped the movie theatre I watched this at home and I really enjoyed it. I won't spoil the movie for others but if you love sci-fi movies then this movie is for you.

Not sure if this was a take off something already written but it felt new and organic and the talent was fresh. I'm already a fan of the writer/director of this film as well as the other films he's worked on with Danny Boyle, namely Sunshine and 28 Days Later.

This was the first time I've seen this movie, it reminded me of 2001 a space Odyssey. Ava the ex machine was incredible and gave me a good insight insight into the future of artificial intelligence.

This is an interesting scfi movie exploring AI. There are lots of long discussions between the human protagonist and the artificial entity. This drags sometimes but there is enough action to keep it going. The end may be unsatisfying to some.

    Decent movie, but predictable

Good acting, but with a predictable plot and almost no character development. The actual elements of the Turing test for AI are glossed over and other technical concepts that are essential to the thesis of the film are poorly represented, if at all. It also draws some rather obvious parallels to Google and sort of touches on the dangers of "big data", but, again, treats its audience as if they are not intellectually capable of handling the greater implications of that topic. A decent movie if you want to see decent acting and get your noodle going about the concept of AI in the relatively near future, but don't expect this to teach you anything you didn't know about the technicality, morality, or ethics of AI and the aggregation of data in modern society.

This movie was exhilarating! Love the tension that builds and the characters' evolution. not sure if it will be as exciting watching it the 2nd time around because I know what happens, but I haven't seen it in awhile so hopefully it'll be just as good as the first time!

This is a good movie to watch about the dangers of AI. There's some twists and turns along the way and the ending will have you thinking for a while. The cast is very good and picture and audio are top notch.
