Ex machina is a well thought out thriller that takes the viewer on a ride for the mind like no other. Its creepy atmosphere and engrossing story is like no other. It makes u choose between the truths/lies of the artificial intelligence and main chars to try and weave the ending.

Pretty interesting dialog about artificial intelligence and not too far off regarding what can go wrong. Good continuity, intelligent script, sensual, and surprise endings for most of the main characters. Worth watching at least a few times.

Ex Machina is a well done intriguing movie. The story line is good and has a few good surprises. Domhnall Gleeson, Oscar Isaac, and Alicia Vikander play their parts well. It is interesting to see one way the world could end up as technology advances.

I already heard great things about this movie and when I got to the store on the day of release, I was browsing and it was also recommended by a BestBuy employee. He wasn't wrong. Great acting, visuals - storyline - acting (no spoilers here). If you like Sci-fi, this will please tremendously.

Going forward the impact of this movie is going to shape the way people look at AI-based sci-fi movies. You'll leave this movie wondering just how far away we are from living in such a world. This is what helps define the all-time great sci-fi movies.

Purchased this blu-ray because it's the first, as far as I know, to have the DTS-X surround sound, the counterpart of Dolby Atmos, even though dts-x software still available for our Marantz SR6010 in March. The story was so-so but picture and surround sound wise, it didn't disappoint me.

While following many of the familiar AI, robot and computer tropes found in sci-fi, on the whole, this movie was a huge surprise and the ending threw me. Spoiler alert, the robot in this film is closer to being skynet than the sweet romantic she leads you to believe she is.

I appreciated the lack of the omnipresent unsteady cam utilized in too many movies today. The performances were good and believable. Very thought provoking if you get past many of the glazed over moral issues. The house/facility is awesome. Special effects were seamless.

An edgy movie in a section of world media that is starting to be explored by big cinema here in the U.S. I'm not as familiar with anime or much Asian entertainment as it goes (save for the Korean movies here and there), but this movie's execution makes me want to see more.

It's tough to find many films that hold the viewer's attention. This film is a finely crafted movie that keeps your attention. Definitely worth cooking up your favorite microwave bag of popcorn and sitting down for a few hours and being entertained.

Almost like the beginnings of the Blade Runner world, with the creation of replicants! Cool too, because it has 2 actors who later starred in The Force Awakens. Ex Machina is a great thought provoking film for movie fans, and an even for bigger treat for fans of the genre.

Another great film by Writer/ Director Alex Garland. Panned by some Gen-X "reviewers" with short attention spans (not enough explosions or unneeded, excessive special effects). Raises many questions about the ethical problems associated with developing AI. I would like to see a sequal.

One of my favorite movies and the 4k didn't disapoint. It wasn't a huge difference compared to streaming the movie, but I am glad I picked up the physical disc.

Superb film and an engaging cast. Well directed and acted and will be looking for more films by this Director or with this lead actor.

Create something that is ultimately stronger or smarter than you, and the ending will come quickly...for YOU that is! Ex Machina is another timely tale of man playing God and succumbing to the forces that he creates. Imagine if God had created people to be toys or worse, slaves?

This story reminds me a lot of the classic scifi literature; kind of Ray Bradbury in nature. More complex character driven story than flashy special effects, although the special effects to transform a beautiful actress into a robot are incredibly good. I really enjoy this movie!

A good science fiction movie working as a thriller drama where morality on artificial intelligence research keeps struggling in the head of the main human characters. The minimal scenario hides layers of truth and lies like a mind game as part of the story.

Great movie based off of AI and interactions with human intelligence with one crazy boss. This movie also is one of the first to have the DTS-X audio track included which brings an even greater listening experience to those with an audio receiver capable of decoding.

Great movie! It takes you on a real psychological train ride throughout the movie. The audio and video are excellent throughout the movie, helping to immerse the viewer even more into the movie.

An excellent meditation on what it means to be alive. The majority of the movie is 3 people in a house (with a 4th, non-speaking, character) but the movie is very engaging and makes you think. Excellent acting and star turns by the 3 principles. Highly recommended
