Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the Vapor Smartwatch 44mm Stainless Steel, but there are some drawbacks. While many appreciate its stylish design and comfortable fit, some are disappointed that the GPS feature requires carrying a phone for runs and long hikes.

Inexpensive, yet premium build Android Smartwatch

I upgraded from the original Huawei Watch, which I loved, however, it's battery stopped lasting the whole day. I tried the Huawei Watch II Classic as a replacement, but was disappointed with its lesser build quality compared to the original Huawei. Plus, I didn't care for the large static bezel that's without a purpose. Enter the Misfit Vapor. After spending nearly double the cost of the Vapor on the Huawei Watch II Classic, and subsequently returning it, I didn't expect to like the Misfit. I figured there might not be a good (relatively inexpensive) Android Watch out there right now. I was looking for a watch with a battery that only needed to be charged once a day (or less), continuous pulse, workout tracking, google assistant, some way to scroll through the watch screen without directly touching it, standard replaceable band and, of course, good looks. The Misfit nailed most of my needs and even added a few nice surprises. First, it's a sharp-looking watch that you can easily change up its look with a new band. The sports band that comes with it is comfortable, but for everyday wear, I like bands that latch instead of buckle. So, I replaced it with a $17 black stainless steel latch band (20mm amBand, see photo), and I find the Misfit now even more comfortable than the original Huawei. Second, the coolest feature is the "active" bezel that doesn't waste any space. You can scroll through your watch screen just by running your finger around its edge (without smudging the screen). Very nicely done, and it works well without adding any moving parts or bulk. Third, continuous pulse works nicely and seems accurate (at least when compared to a Fitbit Charge 2). Fourth, notifications work well, and coupled with an attention-getting, yet unobtrusive vibration engine, I don't miss any texts, emails, workout goals, etc. Note: The Misfit does not have a built-in speaker. I thought I'd miss the built-in speaker of the Huawei, however, in the real world, I don't want my watch ringing or need to put my wrist to my mouth to talk on the phone. I have a bluetooth earbud I'm used to instead. That said, if a speaker is a feature you need, the Misfit doesn't have one. The good news, I was surprised that it does, however, have a built-in microphone so you can still use google assistant directly on the watch (I figured, incorrectly, that since it did not have a speaker, it wouldn't have a mic). Some shortcomings: When I initially read about the Misfit last year, reports had it including stand-alone GPS. It doesn't. You'll need to take your phone with you to use GPS for runs and long hikes (it needs your phone's GPS). The Misfit uses Gorilla Glass instead of Sapphire Crystal. Though I have no scratches yet, it's probably just a matter of time. Regarding the battery, it does last from breakfast to bedtime, but not far beyond. Taking the low price into perspective, I'm 100% satisfied. If you go into the purchase knowing its shortcomings listed above, I think most people will as well. Here's hoping that Misfit continues their Smartwatch development.

Device itself works alright its just remarkably slow it took me about a minute to get to the settings menu (I am not being sarcastic it did in fact take one full minute) it also loves to just close out of whatever menu you were in and just chill there frozen for a few minutes until it thinks its about time it actually does something and of course it does suffer from connectivity issues I always found it disconnecting from my phone (Other watches tested on my phone did not suffer from these issues) . So I would not recommend this watch as of now it does have the looks and feel to be good but is hindered by its super slow power, but on a good note the battery lasts a nice amount of time I can get through a whole day of use just fine I can even take it out on low battery and get through most of the day.

Works fine but way too big and heavy. Shame since it looks good.

Bought this as a Xmas gift for a very active individual who swims and runs...and the marketing on the device says it can do it all for $199! No...if you read the magazine/blog articles you learn there is NO GPS radio in the device, but it will use you phones GPS when paired. Totally mislead by the marketing which prompted me to return it. Not much of a running device if it cannot track your run! Instead bought a Huawei that has GPS, so now outdoor running will only have a watch which tracks everything plus 4 gig of music storage...and my phone stays at home. BB and Misfit needs to update the misleading marketing.

    Have to carry your phone

I wanted to love this watch, and the price sounded great.... until I started using it. The smartwatch part of the watch is great, and the heartrate is fairly accurate. I also loved the design, the replaceable bands, and it was comfortable to wear all day even with the stock band. With that being said, do not buy this for fitness unless you want to make sure you have your phone with you. The whole point of having a watch that holds music is so you can go for a run/hike/walk/bike without having to bring your phone. WARNING... ads say it tracks your distance, BUT that is only if you have your phone with you to use the phone's GPS. Also, there is no speaker on the watch. I bought this over the Huawei watch 2 because the display was bigger and easier to read, but the Huawei does everything I want and has on board GPS.
